We have spent the bank holiday weekend at Sand le mere.
We decided to have a meal at The railway inn, it was such a wonderful experience. Very polite professional staff, good service and great food. I highly recommend this place, and their steak pie is to die for.
Food here is excellent. We visited on a Saturday evening when there was a wedding reception being catered for as well as a packed restaurant. Basically, it was way over capacity for the staff to cope with. Service for food and drinks were abismal.
Probably a one off, but nothing about the place made the one hour drive there and again going back home worth repeating.
Absolutely loved this place!
Greeted like long lost family on arrival!
It was a Sunday night, however the place was buzzing.
We went for the special menu of £19.95. ( it finishes at 8pm), but it was more luck than judgment for us, as we didn’t realise they had one, and we were just in time!
It was tremendous value for money. I had the spicy Greek sausage, which was a meal in itself. I followed it with the chicken kebab, again a generous portion.
The lady who served us was lovely, and so cheerful.
Would highly recommend.
i wish i took a picture of the food! But it was just too damn good the second it was delivered to my table (i couldn’t help myself) the presentation, the smell of all the fresh ingredients and let’s not forget about the taste of this awesome italian/ mexican food! I highly recommend the El paso chicken steak 🥩 🍗 with the fried egg, rice and chips. came all sizzling on a hot plate. will definitely be coming back and don’t even get me started on the well made cocktails (spoilt for choice) 🍸 🍹
Really enjoy our meal here. We arrived quite late in the day, but food was still excellent. We needed food from the gluten free menu and the lovely waitress was very apologetic that they were out of some items. Never the less, they had what we wanted, and it quickly arrived piping hot. Will definitely return when we are in the area again
On this occasion we had a takeaway which was totally delicious. I love my Indian/Cashmere cuisine. The staff were brilliant, very attentive and made everyone feel welcome.
The food was Devine. I can’t remember the last time my wife and I ate everything we ordered.
The price is more expensive than I would usually pay, but it was worth the extra expense for the taste and quality.
Will be returning soon for a sit down meal in what looks like a very nice restaurant.
Visited with partner and our 18 month old, the food is so fresh and full of flavours it was our second visit here. Our toddler was unexpectedly sick whilst waiting for our food, the staff went above and beyond and insisted they helped to clean up and was extremely reassuring about the incident and nothing was too much for them, so so kind! Will definitely be visiting again not just for the food but the amazing customer service they provide not many restaurants would be the same!
Visiting Harrogate for the day and having a chill Sunday evening and just ate the nicest tastiest pizza I’ve ever had (vegan one with butternut squash and pine nuts- heaven!). Also special mention to the fresh hot dough balls served with a separate pile of garlic butter so use as little or as much as you like (of course ours had a butter bath!!)
Great choice of drinks and really great value overall.
Do yourself a massive favour and go here if you’re in town. Absolutely 5 stars from us!
I’ve only knocked a star off as I’m a vodka drinker, and the vodka selection is not good. No grey goose, no belvedere, only Smirnoff or absolute, and for me absolutely not. for a pub with the most amazing food, amazing atmosphere and excellent staff and chef, I would expect a decent vodka. That’s the only fault I have.so not major. hopefully on my next visit, and i definitely will be returning, they have a vodka that is a better choice over Smirnoff.
I would recommend anyone visit this pub. It’s fantastic and the food will leave you feeling very happy with the choice.
