Busy, small bustling place, not really the atmosphere for intimate evenings and discrete chat but the overall vibe was good and the music was decent.
Burgers & were fantastic and service was friendly. The sharing platter enjoyed by our friends also looked very impressive. Prices were fairly expensive but we had a great night at Smowkhaus and would definitely return.
Passing Craven Arms on my way back home to Wales, I popped in for haddock & chips to take home. Knowing it would take me a while to get home, they paper-wrapped everything, and then very kindly wrapped everything in foil to help keep it warm!
The food was absolutely delicious. Thanks Freemans! I was tired out after a long journey, didn't feel like cooking, and this hit the spot 10/10.
Although I don't pass that way very often at dinner time, when I do, I make a point of popping in.
This place does the most amazing Carvery and such amazing value. Proper fresh pub food and good beers as well. Great service and always friendly. Brilliant pub.

We came to Birmingham just for the day and we made sure to stop here on the way and it was so worth it!! We got the siu mai, char siu bao and the egg tarts, we can't fault any of them, all so good! The egg tarts came hot which was a delicious surprise! Will definitely be back again!!
Brilliant cafe food and staff again now that the original owner Jo is back. Just to let you know their new opening hours are

This is a lovely little cafe, in gorgeous surroundings. And it’s dog friendly.
Food is good, and well priced.
But I really cannot cope with wooden cutlery and paper cups etc.
I hate the feel of the wooden cutlery and no matter how compostable paper cups are they’ve have a carbon footprint.
Had a lovely evening listening to the Salty Badgers! Great wine, great beer, lovely staff.
Couldn’t ask for any more
We both run a pub in Kent and we couldn’t believe the atmosphere and the prices! They were even accommodating for us southern folk!
Can’t recommend this place enough, thank you!
Glad to see that this café has now re-opened. The lady in charge is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I had a really nice Chicken Tikka sandwich with a mint sauce, side salad and crisps whilst the two ladies that I was with had toast and jam and a tea cake with jam and both were very impressed. This café isn’t like some others where you get the merest scrape of butter; these were properly buttered and with a small jar of nice strawberry jab. The two coffees and one tea were also excellent. Nice comfortable chairs too.
I would strongly recommend this café to anyone visiting the Crematorium.
