The food is delicious, and freshly cooked. Unfortunately they don’t deliver, so collections only which is a hassle. If they did deliver they’d make so much more money and the customers would be much happier.

The Thai cashew with dried chillis (pad med mamuang) dish is awful. It's filled with a bland sauce, no dried chillis and tons of mushrooms. This should be a stir fried dish with hardly any sauce, never had mushrooms in it before but it was awful grey looking slop, please Google a better pad med mamuang recipe, any one will do compared to this... "Free spring rolls" tasted free, nothing in them, no flavour at all. I really think it was just wrappers rolled up and fried. I thought the idea was to thank customers for spending their money with you not to bring their meal down another notch. It's understandable when you've been in business for a while you get lazy, but your food is suffering, the flavours aren't balanced at all- there's no tang, no depth of flavour at all. I don't understand even wanting to be in business and just do the bare minimum, maybe if you made a bit more of an effort to make food that's delicious you'd get a bit of a spark back. Service was bordering on rude. Was a Saturday evening.

Having been a customer for over 10+ years, this is the first time leaving a review. A very underrated local Chinese! Food has authentic flavours and presentation, and always hot with generous portions. The salt and pepper wings are crispy and well coated and fresh. Only thing I can say is the dishes can be a bit on the salty side. Having tried the New Kangxi a few times with inconsistent experiences (dining in and out), this humble place is far superior in consistently delivering quality food. The ribs for example do not have the long white gristle and tendons that Kangxi do, and the quality of food has been of better quality than expected having ordered a similar takeaway from Kangxi for comparison. The Thai curries are delicious and authentically cooked. The menu also has a wide variety of dishes. The meat within the meals are plenty and you're not struggling to justify what you bought as experienced with other restaurants. I would have uploaded pictures but the food doesn't last that long! I have never had a bad experience takeaway here, and the staff are welcoming and friendly and accommodating. Phone order notes are also followed a long with collection. I would recommend this Chinese for it's authenticity and quality, definitely a hidden gem on the top end of Harborne High st that is worth trying. Only downside is they take cash only and no card payments, and are not available on delivery apps. Thank you.

The meal tasted great but there was something in it that didn't suit my husband, and he was quite unwell.We ate the same, and I was fine, but we won't be coming back.

I've been getting takeouts from the Sunshine for over 10 years and the food has always been delicious. During this past year this has been even more of a treat.

I've tried a wide range of the dishes here the salt and pepper king prawns and kung po are amazing never been dissapointed.
