Had a lovely evening listening to the Salty Badgers! Great wine, great beer, lovely staff. Couldn’t ask for any more We both run a pub in Kent and we couldn’t believe the atmosphere and the prices! They were even accommodating for us southern folk! Can’t recommend this place enough, thank you!

Hands down the worst pub I’ve ever stepped foot in, picture the scene it’s Christmas Eve 7pm and you walk in only to be hit with a string Odour of what I can only describe as urinal/toilet smell... no music.. no atmosphere just wanted to get out as quickly as I’d walked in... in fact that’s what I did. GOT OUT!

I play in the local rock covers band 'Wayman' & on the night we played at the pub, decided to have my evening meal with family & friends who had come to watch us. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food provided which was all home cooked & great value. My steak pie contained real steak in large chunks with a light pastry topping which was delicious. Also my partner is vegetarian & chose the vegetarian lasagne. She said it was the best she's ever had after trying other pubs in the area. We would happily eat there again because it's the best food in Tean.

Me and the better half called in for lunch yesterday, after perusing the varied menu I opted for the beef lasagna whilst it should have come with salad and garlic bread I requested to have it with chips and peas which was no problem , when it came it was grand standing up tall and covered in melting cheese full of delicious lean minced beef.whilst her indoors had ordered chicken, mushroom and bacon tagaltalie which came in a large bowl with two delicious pieces of garlic bread the chicken was plentiful as was the bacon and mushrooms and the sauce was no ordinary bland white sauce this was thick glossy packed to the rafters with taste bud tingling flavours simply orgasmic .well worth the money we paid.

We had a very tasty and well cooked lunch at The White Hart today. I had a falafel and portobello burger in a brioche bun with excellent chips and a nicely dressed salad. My husband had a creamy pork and mushroom stroganoff with rice. We were both very pleasantly surprised and weren't expecting the high standard of cooking. The meals were also excellent value. We will certainly be returning! (I would have given 5 stars for service, food and value but it's not working)

We go here on a regular basis for an evening meal and have never had a bad one, nor a cause for complaint. It's straight forward food, what you order is what you get. Always very hot and quick service. Unfortunately I believe the chef is off at the moment so haven't been for a meal for a couple of weeks, but will be back as soon as they start serving food again (probably before then actually for a pint or two)

The White Hart has just taken on a new head chef Jane Atkinson. The food was good in the past but it's superb now with comforting winter dishes of Goulash, Stroganoff and Bubble and Squeak on the Specials board. Jane has been hard at work trying out other new dishes, all cooked to order, with seasonal local produce and has received fantastic feedback. Give it a try and post your comments here, making The White Hart the new place to be seen in Tean!

Was here with some friends for afternoon drinks so no food was consumed. The log fire was roaring away and really set the tone for a relaxing couple of drinks. Decided to dine here before the quiz, a good menu available and the food was very nice, served hot and could not fault it. Dined with friends we all had different dishes and everyone was pleased with their dish. A very good start to a great evening. Hope the chef stays here and would highly recommend and eat here again.

I have been to The White Hart a few times now and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh, hot and tasty and the chef is very accommodating. With food being served throughout the day, my husband and I have been in for both lunch and dinner on varying occasions. The steaks are a particular favourite of mine, although to be fair, I've tried a number of dishes off the varied menus (both bar snack and main) and enjoyed every one. The staff are always welcoming and make everyone feel at home, as do the regular locals. It is genuinely a lovely local pub. There is always a selection of cask ales available (Pedigree is always on hand pull, along with a rotating selection of guest beers). My husband and I will continue to be regular visitors.

Decided to put pen to paper as people are quick to complain but credit where it's due. This pub has had a recent refurb is quite spacious, clean and comfortable and has car parking available round the back. We were made very welcome on arrival and enjoyed some really good food. There were 4 of us - 3 had garlic mushrooms on toasted ciabatta - good to dip in and 1 had pate which was also good. Our Mains choice was 3 x steak & ale pie which had a light pastry crust top and was served with great tasting chips and peas and 1 x Lasagne with salad, chips and garlic bread - they were all very tasty. Noticed they do a curry night and a steak night (available all the time as well) so will definitely pay another visit. Look forward to working through the menu!

I had not been to the White Hart pub in some time after having a few less than welcoming visits under its previous managers/owners. So, after seeing how the new management had taken care in brightening up the exterior with fresh paint and lovely new signs and a good scrub of the windows and inside bar area, I started to feel confident that the White Heart was moving in the right direction and, after a return visit in the last wee,k my confidence was not unfounded. The atmosphere was jovial and it was good to see a healthy number of people inside enjoying the good conversation and sound selection of larger, spirits and soft drinks. Although, some local ales would be a very welcome addition.A simple food menu was on offer until 9pm and had all the expected pub meals on offer, at prices that won't make you feel guilty for grabbing a burger with your pint. One of the nice things about this pub is the number of little corners and tables dotted about, so you can be as close or far from the local 'banter' as you want to be.There is a pool table if you should want a game, and they have a list of White Hart events that occur on a weekly basis from acoustic nights, to cribbage and quiz night (I shall be checking this out, as I love a pub quiz). It may not be the best small local pub I have ever visited but the White Hart does have the buzz of "hidden potential" about it that I find alluring.I am hoping that as the weather gets warmer it makes good use of its outside space and put a bbq or 2 on and embraces the village and high street to its fullest. This is a pub to watch!!

Stopped off here on way home from Lake District trip (found via this app). Sunday lunch menu was very limited (3 mains in total), but that optimistically made me think they'd be good. But they weren't! Veggie option was a tart, which was served cold! and somewhat stale/dry, with some veg cooked/reheated to oblivion. Served with gravy (on a cheese tart!?). Soups where edible, and beer was quite good. We'll find somewhere else for stop off next time.

Nice village pub and the customers were friendly. Food was nice but small portions. On the evening that we visited the staff appeared in quite a confused state. It took over 20 minutes to get our food and drinks ordered. The girl spent ages at the till then had to ask someone to do it for her. Our drinks were wrong but no apology. Apart from that we had nice evening but I would not say the food was outstanding and the staff could have been friendlier and a little more customer focused. Perhaps because we were not locals.

This is quite a nice local pub and the local people were very friendly. However the same could not be said about the staff on this visit. It took a long wait to order food and drinks and then they got the drinks mixed up. No apology for such a long wait, in fact they were totally unaware of it. Food was okay but not particularly generous portions and as I have said quite small in size. I think with a little more focus on customer service it could be so much better. I think the landlord does the cooking so is probably not that aware of front of house service.

We returned to the White Hart today, a pub that we love due to it`s fantastic landlord and staff and real pub atmosphere, after a disappointing xmas meal served by the chef at that time. However what a superb meal we had today courtesy of Martin the new chef. We have eaten in some starred restaurants but my starter of chicken fillet strips in bbq sauce served on a dressed salad was so light and delicious and my husbands garlic mushrooms were superb. Top that with 2 fantastic and elegantly presented Sunday roasts, polite but efficient staff and of course Andy the owner who always makes us feel so welcome and you have a winning combination. Well done and we can`t wait for the medieval banquet!!!

Visited on Saturday 23rd November. Beautiful setting. Lovely vibrant atmosphere inside. Classic Victoria Sponge was ok. Mediocre. Looked better than it tasted. For £4.95 a slice, hoped for more though. Coffee was absolutely rubbish :-( Really disappointing. Very weak and mainly froth. Cappuccino should have a creme yes but it shouldn't be frothy....and there was seemingly virtually no actual coffee underneath. I had oat milk but that shouldn't make a difference. We were going to go back the following day, but decided against it. For three of us to have a drink and cake with not much change from £30.00, we wanted just a straight forward decent cup of coffee. I don't mind 'complaining' and asking for another cuppa...but I truly thought it would be exactly the same, so didn't bother. Also, didn't want to put a downer on our girls' visit. Such a shame. Invest in some barista training and this place would be truly great. Sorry to leave a negative review....but it's honest.
