My friend had booked myself and another friend in for dinner here for our birthdays. We asked for bread and olives for the table as a starter, this was served with just 2 pieces of bread and there were 3 of us so we asked for another and the waitress said she had asked already and we would need to pay for an extra bit of bread, they also didn’t have the oil to go with the bread. Two of us ordered steak for main, I’d asked for no mushrooms, when they were served the sauces were on the wrong plates and mine had mushrooms, the waitress took it back then came back and said that my friend and I had been given the wrong ones so to swap and then it would be right. The steaks were so insanely salty, it made my friend and I feel sick. The chips were meant to be triple cooked but it didn’t taste like it. My friend had a blue cheese sauce and said it was quite bland. Our table was booked for 7pm and we were informed a few days before that quiz night starts at 8pm. This was fine and it was good to be informed beforehand but we hadn’t considered how loud it would be, the music during the meal was loud and the microphone was the quiz was also super loud so we couldn’t hear each other speak. My friend asked for something to be taken off the bill due to the poor steaks, the lady who sorted this out was great and very apologetic, she was very helpful in sorting it out, the waitress we had was also lovely. It seemed to be an issue with the chef. We hardly ate our meals and got McDonalds on the way home because we were so hungry. I would go back there sadly.

Took my mum last week for lunch and having not been for a while to eat I didn't know what to expect. We weren't disappointed, my mum had pie and I had a small beef & noodle salad which was very tasty. Not cheap with two glasses of wine and we did wait a while for the food even though only ones in there but on the whole very friendly and will look forward to returning.

I have visited his restaurant with friends at lunchtime on several occasions, and have been impressed with the quiet efficiency of the staff, the quality of the food and the stylish decor. As my husband recently celebrated his birthday, and had never been for a meal here, I booked a table. When we arrived, the bar area was packed and very noisy. We could not see anyone to ask, then we caught the eye of someone who said he would find a waitress. Several minutes passed and we did see a waitress chatting to customers she knew, not 6 feet from where we stood. This waitress was then called, and took us to our table, which was by the window, giving us a nice view of the golf course. Our menus arrived: mine had food stuck to it. I had to ask for the wine list, to be able to order. Our drinks arrived, and a pleasant man came to take our order, and chatted to us, making us feel a little more welcome. The large corner table behind me filled up, and one of these diners , a man, was seated directly behind me. It was a large family celebration, and it was far too easy to hear the conversations ( I now know more about the Euro matches than I did before) . My husband was across the table, but it was difficult to speak due to the noisy table, and the large bar crowd. I thought about asking to move to a spare table, but then our starters arrived. My choice, the chicken liver parfait was £8 and consisted of a small rectangle of pâté, about 1cm by 3cm, a little salad, some sauce and two small slices of sourdough, which was underwhelming to say the least. The mains arrived, and both of us enjoyed them a lot. There was then another long interval before we could order puddings, and coffee and two whiskies. The coffee and whisky arrived before the puddings, and then I had to walk across the room to ask our waitress to bring sugar. The puddings were fine, the coffee was good and the whisky( only one on offer) satisfactory. This had taken two hours. We paid( I checked the bill for our food and initial drinks) and left. Later, noticed we had been charged for two DOUBLE whiskies, which we did not order. I have yet to chase this up, or maybe the manager will reply here first. I realise that some of my complaints are out of management’s control, eg the noisy bar. However, the general sloppiness of the serving staff and the overpriced starter make me doubt if we would return in the evening. We have been going to Egos for many years, and thought this would make a pleasant change, but Lockside needs to pull its socks up, and decide if it wants to be a restaurant or a pub. I also realise that I should post a positive review of the lunchtime experience, so I will do this in the near future.

Four of us went last night for the quiz and food. The interior is classy and looks amazing. The staff are very attentive and their level of service is first class. Our food choices of Fish and Chips, Homemade Pie, Steaks were just delicious and what great value. On top of all that some good wine and Japanese lager! The quiz was great fun. Well done to the team at Lockside and thank you for a top night.

We had my dads wake here back in June but I’m only just getting around to reviewing. Liam, Becky and the team did such an amazing job, we were all very happy with how everything went. The venue was lovely, the buffet was delicious and all staff were so accommodating- nothing was too much trouble. A small number of our guests were vegetarians and vegans and everyone was catered for. The wonderful job everyone at the Lockside did made a difficult time a little easier knowing that they had everything in hand. We were so impressed that we’ve just booked another wake with them in December, Thank you again guys! ❤️

Absolutely shocking experience. I understand that reviews are not normally this in depth but my lord is our experience worth it. Booked for our 12th wedding anniversary and thought we’d book somewhere nice to celebrate. We’d been there twice before for Pie Night and the service and food was excellent. But tonight, we turned up, and even though the restaurant was not what you would call busy due to the unexpected Indian summer, we were stood waiting to be seated for about 5 minutes which granted isn’t the end of the world. Once we were at our table, we placed our 18 month old son in a restaurant provided high chair and within 5 minutes it literally fell apart. And this is no exaggeration, the leg and retaining bar came apart. How our son didn’t end up on the floor is a miracle. And considering he has a major heart defect, this could have ended up a lot worse than it did. Not being one to usually complain, I informed management who replaced the high chair with not even a whiff of an apology. Some people would have really gone to town and taken photos and reported it to the local press but because we are not the moaning type we just sat there and accepted it, And that’s where our experience really took a turn for the worse.Bearing in mind we had been sat at our table for 15 minutes with 1 round of drinks ordered, an elderly couple entered the restaurant who were swiftly shown to there seats and offered the full works. The seat that they were originally shown to was in the direct sunlight (as was ours) and they were swiftly moved to another more convenient table in the shade, whilst we sat in the corner, seemingly forgotten about. This couples Drinks were served immediately and within 5 minutes their food was served. (It turns out that this older couple was Don Bur so it seems that money really does talk in this restaurant.) Whilst we sat there waiting for some kind of service, Mr Bur sat and enjoyed his drinks and Meal, with the older waitress repeatedly going to their table asking if they wanted any more drinks and if everything was to their liking. All the while we were left sat in the corner waiting for some kind of service. My 10 year old daughter tried to attract the waitresses attention to try and get some drinks and (I was witness to this) she simply looked at my daughter with the biggest scowl I’ve ever seen before she wheeled away and returned to Mr Bur. Just as I was about to go to the bar to try and order some drinks as we had been left parched due to it being so warm, a group of golfers arrived at the bar and were swiftly served their drinks, all whilst we sat there waiting patiently. 45 minutes since we arrived, with 1 set of empty glasses on our table and no sign of any kind of service, I convinced my wife and daughter to leave the restaurant, whilst I went to the bar to clear the bill. Having explained our concerns, from the lack of service, to the faulty high chair, the waiter still had the audacity to request payment for drinks. Luckily the manager stepped in and waived the bill, but be warned, unless you are one of those people that thinks that they have more money than they really have, pretending to be something that you are not, or are unfortunate enough to turn up on a night where Mr Don Bur (Corleone) is in residence then I would avoid this restaurant at all costs. The type of place where money speaks louder than service. And before people judge, I have left many, if not all good reviews on people’s businesses as I am a strong believer in giving credit where it is due, but this restaurant is only interested in one type of clientele and it is abundantly clear that they value money over service.

Massive thanks to Liam & the team yesterday for everything they did to ensure all went well for my dad's wake. Everyone enjoyed the fabulous buffet. The marquee was a perfect venue for our gathering, a lovely private space, overlooking the golf course. 1st class service from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble! Thank you so much for making our day so memorable. 💗 Adam & Brett should feel proud of their achievements and their team 👏 Thank You.

Arrived for our meal and were shown promptly to our seats, thats where the good points end. Waited and waited for someone to come over, staff wedre passing our table and totally oblivious to the fact e were waiting. Gave in after nearly twenty minutes and went and asked for service. A young lad came and took our drinks order, but had to go and find out what beer was on draught. Then had to ask for a menu. Then the server had to go get a pen. Waited for the starter which were crab cakes and just short of being done to death. They were ok. Mains were finally bought to the table and were totally devoid of any heat, then had to ask for cutlery. The servers average age was about sixteen and although I am not knocking there willingness, they were totally inexperienced. I had the coconut pannacotta which was the weirdest thing ever, coconut flavoured gel. Thought we would give this place a go as living local, but sorry we wont be returning. Not even a thank you from the person on the door when we left

Visited here for the first time last night since its relaunch and refurbishment. The decor was gorgeous and could tell that everything was aimed to be at a high standard! My Katsu Pork Burger was very tasty, however, my friends masala chicken was very dry and overpriced for what she got. There was also a very drunk loud group of people at 7pm at night which ruined the ambience of the resteraunt and we felt like we couldn't hear ourselves speak :/

Visited on Saturday 23rd November. Beautiful setting. Lovely vibrant atmosphere inside. Classic Victoria Sponge was ok. Mediocre. Looked better than it tasted. For £4.95 a slice, hoped for more though. Coffee was absolutely rubbish :-( Really disappointing. Very weak and mainly froth. Cappuccino should have a creme yes but it shouldn't be frothy....and there was seemingly virtually no actual coffee underneath. I had oat milk but that shouldn't make a difference. We were going to go back the following day, but decided against it. For three of us to have a drink and cake with not much change from £30.00, we wanted just a straight forward decent cup of coffee. I don't mind 'complaining' and asking for another cuppa...but I truly thought it would be exactly the same, so didn't bother. Also, didn't want to put a downer on our girls' visit. Such a shame. Invest in some barista training and this place would be truly great. Sorry to leave a negative review....but it's honest.

Whilst waiting for an hour full of anticipation and excitement thinking of the fryed delights coming our way let me tell you energy was high! Gota give a single star review we usually go to Lenny's and we all know what u're in for there basically a crematory in a lay'by. But unexpectedly this was the polar opposite I think this breakfast was a boil in the bag. Tbf it was good but the hash browns were so bad I nearly took them Lenny's to get them cremated Im not sure if it was because it's Halloween and they gave us a trick instead of a treat but u do not boil hashbrowns under any circumstances! And if u did fry them u need some some new oil as the viscosity must be at - levels
