The food was beautiful well presented and tasted amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere which helped meeting friends for lunch. Will definitely be back again

I always come for a meal here and a quick drink when I pass through leek and I am never disappointed. It seemed they had some new staff this time around and didn't disappoint. Really friendly and will definitely return as always.

Excellent menu choices and variety. Food beautifully cooked and presented. The Turkish element offered something different from your average bar and grill. Staff very attentive, offering excellent service.

Went in for lunch during the week. A good selection of lunchtime meals at a pretty reasonable price.

Food was very mid. Lamb shank was cooked nicely but sauce was very bland. Same for everything we had really. The waitress also got our order wrong, she also handed a vegetarian a meat plate instead of the veggy one. This is overall not a bad meal but for >£16 a plate I would expect much better. Disappointing.

Really disappointed by attitude of waiting on staff tonight. By 9.30 they wanted to go home so switched off the coffee machine and refused hot drinks. Not good customer service. If you want to shut at 9.30, don’t take bookings after 7.30!

Excellent bar and grill. 3 of us had lunch . Fast and polite service . Dog friendly as well , took our 2 jack Russell's.

We ordered 3 pots of tea and it took nearly half an hour ...we were told it was because of a delay in drinks...New one on me especially when there was hardly anyone in there

Great meal but the service was average at best. Lack of structure, organisation or responsibilities. Servers tried their best but seemed overwhelmed. They took our drinks order three times but after 35 minutes they still hadn’t arrived. Food was good when it arrived.

Hit and miss - sometimes great food and service sometimes a bit underwhelming

Went for lunch time drinks. We ordered tea for 6. It took 25 minutes to come. And 3 of the cups were dirty. The milk came in an espresso cup. The girl waiting on us was polite though. Very poor service won’t be returning. Leek bar and grill has gone down hill since we last went. We usually have food but we went else where after.

I visited this restaurant a couple of days ago with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. The ambience was lovely and the food was genuinely excellent—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the service was shockingly poor and completely ruined what should have been a special evening. From the moment we arrived, the waitress was cold and dismissive. We politely asked for water as soon as we were seated, but we never received it—even after we had finished our meal and paid the bill. It didn’t feel like a simple oversight—it felt intentional. Even at the end, when she brought the bill, she didn’t bother with a bill holder -she just handed us a receipt . We noticed a clear difference in how we were being treated compared to other customers. It felt disrespectful, and honestly, a bit racially biased. What hurt most is that this was supposed to be a joyful evening—my girlfriend’s birthday—and instead, we left feeling upset and uncomfortable. The attitude of the waitress completely soiled the happiness of the occasion. We won’t be going back. No matter how good the food is, no one should have to feel that way at a restaurant—especially not on a special day. I sincerely hope the management takes a long, hard look at how guests are being treated.

I have visited this place a couple of times. My first experience was alright, but the second time was awful. The waiters and waitresses treat customers differently based on their ethnicity. They might as well put up a sign saying, "This restaurant is only for native people." We had dinner and requested a glass of water, but they refused to provide it. I asked multiple times, but they made us wait and never brought it, even after we paid the bill. Meanwhile, they provided everything other European customers requested without hesitation. I couldn’t help but wonder—am I paying money or something else? Is discrimination a requirement for the service ? I would have given zero stars if I could. They only seem to focus on customers who spend more money. People should be able to order what they can eat or what suits their appetite. They were always hesitant to provide proper cutlery and comfortable seating. If they had no available seats without a reservation, they could have simply said so, and we would have chosen a better restaurant. Instead, they gave us uncomfortable seating without any adjustments to the bill. Racist staff with full of attitude.Even during payment, they treated us as if we couldn’t afford the bill. The food was okay, but the service was crap. I will never recommend this place or visit again. Thanks for the disrespect I received.

Looks like a nice restuarant with a good menu and friendly atmosphere. Sorry to read about your mothering day no shows. Simple solution,when you Take a table booking and reservation time simply make it clear that guests have a 15 minute grace time to arrive.After which time if no show and you have not been contacted your table will be released to walk in diners. Problem solved

My boyfriend and I came here after a long drive from wales, found this lovely restaurant. Realised that we were a little underdressed 😂as we didn’t know it was a fancy type of restaurant. Although, we both had a sirloin steak, which was cooked beautifully. Staff were also polite and provided really good service!

Saturday night out with friends and the place was very busy , very atmospheric. The service was excellent and the food was beautiful. The menu is very varied and we were all spoilt for choice. Having tried other places in Leek this is now our favourite .. we’ll be back!

The 2 stars were for the decor and surroundings however the food I have to say had seriously gone downhill. Very basic with poor presentation and the service was terrible. We had to ask for drinks for 2 of us as they were never asked, 2 out of 9 starters came 10 minutes after the first were served. The mains were brought out without cutlery being replaced until we asked. Overall very poor really, so sad it's been reduced to this.

I make it a point of duty to be very honest in my reviews and I can honestly give a 5 star to The Leek Bar & Grill. Good/ Professional service, lovely food - freshly made, beautiful presentation and a relaxing & lovely atmosphere. Thank you for making my experience a good one. Definitely one of my favourite places to eat.

Nice setting, good food, good service

Always nice food. Unfortunately they only brought 1 meal out instead of 2. I understand mistakes can happen but this was not explained until we had to ask.

Great find for lunch. Both DH and I enjoyed our sandwiches (mozza panini w salad and halloumi wrap w chips) and DH his coffee. Quieter, mature customers made for a pleasant experience. Live a ways away, but if ever in the area in the future, would stop again.

Food came on cold plates and was lukewarm at best. The food was so bland too. Several members of the group complained about the same matter. And to top it all off…. The toilet was swimming with water and urine. It was disgusting and the smell horrific. There was urine all over the seats, my poor boy had to be held to go to the toilet. First and last time here. Will never be returning

Ordered rare sirloin steak. It was rare but stone cold. Out the chiller onto the grill more than likely. Wifes birthday so l put up with it or she would of eaten alone. Poor.

Very nice ambiance and lovely food. The sautee chicken is beautiful. I was disappointed with my calamari starter as there were only four pieces of breaded calamari which weren’t particularly nice. Staff are friendly though, and it’s a lovely place. Not cheap, but a nice change.

Would definitely recommend planning a stop at the Leek Bar & Grill. The location is amazing. Getliffe's Yard, especially at night is extremely cozy. Great selection of food and wines and excellent service. My steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare as requested and all the other dishes were exquisite as well.

Outstanding food in a pleasant setting with attentive staff. Steaks cooked perfectly and everything else spot on. Definitely recommend this place, set back off the main street, so a nice quiet spot.

My Birthday treat on the 14th January off my partner at the Leek Bar & Grill was really enjoyable. We had looked at this place in summer and asked if dogs were welcome? They are happy for dogs to accompany you in the large restaurant it's a bit like a very lage conservatory or orangery. Very nice very comfortable 3 different girls served us all were very friendly and helpful. Food was gorgeous Brie and Feta starters - really good then Chicken salad with side of fries and Mixed Grill Platter with side of sweet potato salad. Plenty of food really tasty all dishes very fresh and well presented. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Diana & Steve from Stone

Poor experience, we did a pre-order and still had to ask for side order twice,which never came,one meal the lamb shank was cold inside had to be sent back to the kitchen,never got asked if meal was OK or if we had received everything meals small not good value for money,was told they were having " a mare in the kitchen", asked for another drink lad said, " I dnt know what do I'm new", think they need train and buddy up new staff poor lad was embarrassed....wasnt an enjoyable meal,won't be going again,would definitely steer clear of fishcakes,just a greasy tasteless mess on the plate....such a shame because lovely ambience

Visiting leek for night stumbled across leek bar and grill lovely welcome shown to our table ordered our food and drinks service was very attentive i ordered the steak and I have to say it was one of the best I've had in years perfectly cooked the wife had chicken chargrill with salad and said it was beautiful we will return on next visit

We walked out as the waitress who greeted us was not very welcoming as we only wanted a drink. Found another coffee shop where we were made welcome

We went in this cafe and asked for a table, the girl who was finding us a table was very nice but the girl with the blond snapped at her and said loudly not that table the table over there and clean it .she was very nasty towards the other girl so we left wouldn't go again

Only criticism was the service, the staff were lovely and apologetic, just not very organized at the time, would have been better if the roles assigned were clear to them. Drinks didn't come with the food for example, and took a while to get the bill. It was busy though because of the market. Food was good value though and atmosphere was brilliant, very chill place.

Met with a group of friends for a Christmas celebration. An improvement from the last time I was there was that the background music was not too loud. This made it easier for me, as a person with hearing loss, to take part in conversations. I can't cope with three courses so I had chosen a starter and main course. The prawn starter was absolutely delicious. I'd chosen a turkey dinner for my main as it was the only time I would have turkey this Christmas - and it was a major disappointment. It was definitely quantity over quality. The turkey meat was pleasant and moist but there was such a lot. The pigs in blankets were nice. The carrots tasty but cold. The sprouts were like bullets and flew around when we tried to cut them. Why Yorkshire Pudding with Christmas dinner? The worst thing was that the whole meal, including the meagre supply of gravy, was luke warm. At the end of the meal we told the waitress and the manager but were just told that we should have mentioned it before eating it. We could have done that but sorry I don't want a meal 'nuked' in the microwave. I enjoyed the evening because of the company and my starter - and the ambience but the main course has made me think twice about going again.

Visited Friday lunch time with a friend. I feared the worst after reading some of the recent reviews even though I’ve always had a lovely time there. Restaurant was busy and warm. Service was very good and the food was lovely, we both had the Cajun chicken. Lovely meal at a reasonable price myself and my friend couldn’t fault it.

A great selection of English and European food. Friendly welcome from Os and his team. We are blessed to have a choice of two great restaurants in Leek.

Vegan menu is awful and hasn't changed in nearly a decade. Everything was poor cooked and bruschetta Gluten free bread for no reason, which was barely edible.

Ok good, dreadful service. Was able to get a table last minute which should have been a red flag. Service was incredibly slow, but not at first. At first it was great, with rapid drinks orders taken. Went downhill from here. Was not asked how the food was, was not asked for extra drinks; had to seek someone out to get more. Given the bill then the staff disappeared; had to get up and go and pay. Unsure if this is the practice, but it was not made clear. Food was ok, nothing to write home about. Chicken burger was a very thin bit of chicken. Would not come back

Visiting Leek from Nottingham for a show and found this venue on the internet. We were not disappointed, a friendly welcome even though we had not booked. Both starters and main courses were perfect. Will definitely come again.

Food ok but not exciting. My wife swapped out rice for chips which were the standard catering frozen variety. We were charged 20p for the privilege seems a little petty.

After our last disappointing visit in September 2023, during a recent visit to Leek, we decided to give this venue another chance. What a mistake to make! Seated fairly quickly by a pleasant enough young lady, we placed our orders for coffee…. with the intention of ordering a lunchtime meal in a while. We sat and we sat…and waited and waited! After 15 minutes no sign of the coffee so we upped sticks and left! What a way to run a dining establishment ! Terrible service ! This was definitely the last visit from us…. We got our coffee from a small establishment a few yards away down the yard (opposite the ice cream parlour). Served quickly in a friendly manner and much cheaper than the “other place”!

What a jem of a place to find by accident.

Previously I've enjoyed coming here for drinks/lunch, and the setting is gorgeous. However, not sure what's happened but it's gone downhill. Went in on a Tuesday lunchtime with friends for a drink. Ordered mojitos which were not cheap... They were made from some kind of pre-mixed cocktail syrup and tasted AWFUL. Tried a different one and that was so bad we couldn't finish it. The ladies toilets were a state, in dire need of a deep clean and some TLC. All toilets broken in some way, no soap available (dispensers either broken or empty), I gave up trying to wash my hands and had to use sanitiser. Won't be back unless I hear it's picked up its standards, unfortunately.

As a single diner I was turned away at 12.30 lunch time. I would have spend more than couple just drinking coffee. Plenty of space looking around but obviously not welcome and she showed it. I have eaten there before on my own but won’t be bothering again. Made me feel very sad, it’s no fault of mine that I’m on my own and attitudes like that make me feel very depressed. Finding being single and looking for a nice meal in friendly environments hard. Just wanted a meal out at lunch time.

Met up with friends for lunch and were so happy to find this restaurant. Food was first class, as was the service. We were able to take our little Yorkshire Terrier in, too, which is always a bonus. Really do recommend this place.

We came here to celebrate a 60th wedding anniversary, with a party of 11. We preordered due to how many of us there were. We all ordered the same to make things, “easy”, but how wrong was I?! Drinks: Two Stella’s were ordered, well what we thought to be Stella. We came to order another “Stella” later on in the evening, to be told they don’t sell Stella…so what we had been served will remain a mystery. Starters: We all ordered camembert and emphasised to be cooked thoroughly as one of the guests is pregnant, (can’t eat raw cheese when pregnant), majority came out raw and had to be sent back. Mains: all ordered steaks which we were waiting an hour for. The steaks came over and I asked how they were cooked as we hadn’t be asked, to be told, “they’re all cooked medium as there is so many of you”. I politely complained after this, stating that we’ve come out for a special occasion and that we aren’t having a great time. We thought this would encourage some good service… Desserts: All ordered fudge cake, again all came out frozen. We asked for the manager and the owner came over he proceeded to pick up one of our plates and try it in front of us…to be told that fudge cake isn’t meant to be hot…no maybe not, but frozen? I don’t think so. Payment: We expected to have some kind of apology, but no we had to practically beg to get some money knocked off the bill. This was dealt with by the owner/manager. He took payment off, but it was our deposit we had already paid!!! Eventually we managed to get £5 each knocked off the bill…WHAT A JOKE!

Got seated at a dirty table with napkins all over and dishes still there. Took 15 mins for them to be cleared and still hadn’t been served. Waited a further ten mins and then they still didn’t take our order even though other tables with no one sat there were being cleared. Eventually left with our order still not being taken and the table was still dirty. Was mentioned to the bar staff and she didn’t really seem bothered.

Difficult to give a really great review. My reasons. The food actually was absolutely delicious. And the service good. But unfortunately and inadvertently we decided to eat there on a night where there were several exceedingly loud parties happening. We had children muscle in on our table. To the extent where I was practically squeezed out of my seat. And the party behind us were so noisy it was like being at a football match. We asked to be moved but all tables were booked. This I should add is not the fault of the restaurant. However sadly it did ruin our evening. We ate, paid and voted with our feet. My only advice would be that even though the food was good. Unless you’re really tolerant of noisy badly behaved adults and children I’d say try somewhere else.

This is a lovely cafe/restaurant located in the attractively restored Getliffes Yard. I ordered a halloumi burger and was very impressed by the quantity and quality of the food. Good service from the staff too.

Had lunch there for our daughters birthday, food was delicious and service amazing, will definitely be eating there again 😊

Leek Bar and Grill has been a firm favorite for us for many years. They serve wonderful Mediterranean meals and mezze platters. There's a good selection of wines, alcoholic beverages, cocktails, and mocktails. The place always feels relaxed and comfortable, with pleasant staff and good food. Sometimes, there might be a bit of a wait for the food, but it's lovely when it arrives. (Grab some olives to share while you wait). The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and has a disabled toilet. The only downside is that you have to go over a flagstone courtyard to enter, but it's well worth the effort!

Our 1st visit to Leek Bar & Grill, its in a lovely place up a cobbled alley. Rang & booked a table in advance but when we arrived our table wasn't there, but, the waitresses immediately jumped into action & sorted this for us. Didn't recieve any menu's but came to take our order eventually, but again got this sorted swiftly. Once we got our meals/drinks all was very nice, reasonably priced. The main waitress in the yard area was very pleasant. Would definitely go again even thow a bit hap hazand to begin with.

Stopped in Leek on way back from visiting foxtails wedding venue. Food was good gorgeous little alleyway to the cafe with some other niche shops well worth a visit food great price service excellent no wait there's a courtyard seating with a retractable roof thankfully with this weather lately!

Just popped in for a pint, market day in Leek. Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff.

Good selection of grilled food that was well flavoured. All came with a sensible amount of rice and a good side salad. The spicy sauce was great to add a bit of extra heat.

Amazing. Found this place by accident and decided to give it a go. Light and airy restaurant and very comfortable/relaxing. Lunch menu had an amazing choice of dishes, breakfast is only served till 10 (but again a great choice of dishes). The dishes we ordered turned up quickly and obviously freshly prepared, with all fresh ingredients. Definitely will visit again, and perhaps for dinner too.

Food was absolutely gorgeous, I had the prawn starter and mushroom starter and for a main the sea bass with dill sauce. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. Service was on point. Only slight issue was the atmosphere, couldn't understand why it was so quiet, but we did get there quite late (around 8:30pm) on a Friday night.

Finding the restaurant while out for the day, the menu looked enticing so we decided to give it a try. We were greeted with a smile at the door and once ordered, the food came very quickly. Complements to the chef, the food was sensational! Mine the vegetarian Moussaka, my partner, the mixed platter. Both extremely tasty and artistically arranged on the plates. Photographs to show. When back in the area, we will be sure to dine there again.

The food is always lovely and the service is great. LB&G guys feels like a classy place to eat.

The food is fantastic, as well as being very reasonably priced. But it's served in bowls rather than plates which I found very odd. But I'll definitely be returning.
