Lovely staff, food was absolutely amazing! I had the lasagne and my partner the pork belly, absolutely unreal, the portions are very generous also!

Two pints of lager for under a tenner for a pub situated were it is thought it was good value

visited Sunday evening, food was amazing, we both had starters & Sunday dinner , belly pork & Roast beef excellent value very large portions, service was very prompt and Laura who served us was excellent and efficient, first visit and most certainly won't be the last , highly recommended

Came here for a hearty pub lunch after our rainy walk in the Peaks. The food was great - good portion sizes for the cost and nice flavours. The service was extremely friendly which we really appreciated. Would definitely recommend and return if we’re ever in the area again.

The customer service and food here is phenomenal. I shall definitely be visiting again when in the area. 5 stars for sure!

Best Sunday dinner in Staffordshire

Very bad customer service!! We rang on the off chance for a late table for Sunday lunch. We asked for 4 adults plus dog. When we arrived we were put in the games room on 2 small tables by the pool table. We had to sit on the bench seats in a row as the people playing pool were so close to the table and we couldn't use the stools. These tables were barely big enough to accommodate 4 people with drinks and meals, with the added inconvenience of a pool cue poked in your face. We asked if we could move to one of the many available tables in the main part of the pub but as we had a dog we weren't allowed. The food isn't cheap .... 4 Sunday lunch with drinks around £100, and you really expect better environment to eat your food than a pool cue in your face. I complained about the table but a very rude waitress said it was our fault for booking at this last minute, and the table we had was big enough for 6. Sorry but for a nice Sunday lunch in a country pub THIS IS NOT GOOD SERVICE!! And if you have a dog, don't bother .... Not a dog friendly establishment 😠 For that matter not a person friendly one either.

Great pub, we had fish and chips, which was really fresh with nice crispy batter, skin on chips. Lasagne with chorizo was also lovely and very tasty. What topped the night off was the speed quiz. Really really enjoyable and would recommend if you get the chance. Everyone was really friendly, would defo return.

We came for a meal here on the 19th February 2025. Because we were eating in the pub we were able to spend the night on the carpark in our campervan. It was perfect, We had 2 main meals , my husband had the lasagna and i had the chargrilled chicken breast in peppercorn sauce from the specials board. Both meals were outstanding . We stayed in the pub all night and had 4 pints of larger each and 2 scoops of icecream. The bill was a very very reasonable £84.00. The service was spot on and the welcome was very warm. 100% reccomend.

Met some friends here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by how lovely the pub was. Beautiful decor, cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. I opted for the fish & chips and it was very well presented with light crispy batter and lovely flaky cod. £15 so not too expensive and it was delicious. Plenty of parking and very clean bathroom. I would definitely return to try some of the other dishes.

Came here after a long hike and so glad we did. The staff were really attentive and helpful and the food was amazing. Would definitely come back if we’re in the area again 😊

Warm and welcoming with a good choice of food., nice Gluten Free options too. The Rock is dog friendly so if you're out for a walk it's nice to be able to take a break and have a meal in nice surroundings.

Warming atmosphere and fantastic food 👌

Visited Saturday 25/1 for late lunch. Pleasant and polite welcome on arrival. Drinks served promptly whilst we considered the menu. My companion chose the steak pie, whilst I had the pork belly. Both were well presented with generous portions. Service was excellent. We went for a Chardonnay and a Malbec respectively and finished off with a glass of port each. First visit for many years and loved the decor. Best of all, I was treated as a belated birthday present!

Stayed in our motorhome here on the car park opposite, lovely friendly staff, really nice pub, great food, our dog was welcomed too. Thank you.

What a lovely find. Arrived early at 6pm so not busy. Delicious food of lamb chops and liver and onions. Staff very friendly and welcoming, as were the customers. Definately recommend to visit. We're going back to Worcester tomorrow, but hope to return.

A return to the Ye Olde Rock Inn after many years of not going, I ordered the steak on the menu which was cooked well but wasn’t to my taste. Probably a fault of my own as I had no sauce with it, my pint of Madri tasted off though so was disappointed with this. Service was good and staff were attentive, atmosphere was let down by loud children but this can’t be helped. Would come here again!

Beautiful old pub with superb food. Unfortunately it's just off the main A53 so people do not know it's there but if you see the sign please turn off and try it, great beer too. Well worth a drive out to. I'd absolutely love it as my local

No passing trade at this beautifully gem of a place, but always worth a trip out. Not for the first time, we had the sirloin steak. Cooked to perfection, and as good as any i have had. Lovely inside and i would highly recommend

We have visited Ye Olde Rock Inn a few times and always enjoyed our time there. The place is charming with lovely Christmas decorations and a beautiful tree in the corner. Just the place to kickstart my festive season and sample the menu. We decided to go for the Christmas dinner , absolutely excellent 👍. Over the years I have sampled quite a few festive meals but this one really did stand out. Wonderfully presented and tasted superb, a really home cooked experience. Well done to all at Ye Olde Rock Inn , a fabulous place.

Absolutely made our trip. We were staying nearby just for one night and wanted a nice meal. Well what can I say. Absolutely perfect, from the friendly warm greeting we received when we arrived to the delicious food which was amazing. We had the burger which was the best one I've ever had. My husband had the baby ribs which he will be talking about forever. We also shared sticky toffee pudding which was also delicious. Even though we were stuffed after our mains we just had to try one of their puddings. It didn't disappoint. It's hard to find a pub in this day and age that obviously cares so much that the customer has a fantastic experience. Ye Olde Rock Inn have everything spot on. Fantastic welcoming staff, varied menu choice with amazing delicious food. Great value for money and the whole place is spotlessly clean. Great music choice playing (not to loud). An area for doggie lovers and area for non doggie lovers and what looked like a fab pool table in the bar end. Outside area looks lovely too and can't wait to visit again with our doggies when we are in the area. We are actually planning to come that way again just for the meal and experience at this pub as it was that perfect. Thank you.

Great place to eat nice atmosphere

Over the last 12 months a friend and I have been visiting pubs and hotels to review one dish only on the menu. FISH AND CHIPS! The fish and chips today were the best we have had in 8 plus establishments! 10 out of 10 ✓ An excellent lunch!

Booked a evening table for 9 service excellent and lovely friendly Waitress All the food apart from the 4 of us who had the Fish and Chips was excellent all 4 commented on how small the fish were and my plate full of chip bits but otherwise lovely evening

Haven’t visited for quite a few years and was really impressed with the decor and welcoming atmosphere. The service was quick and all the staff were lovely. The food was delicious and nothing was too much trouble, highly recommended.

Booked in for 6 adults made very welcome by the landlord and staff and were told there’s no rush to order We ordered drinks and then on to ordering food The starters were absolutely lovely and then main course was excellent, Lovely pub with good menu and very very clean including the toilets Would definitely recommend this pub and will be returning shortly and the added bonus is you can stop over in your motor home or camper van absolutely brilliant Thank you to the landlord and staff for making our visit lovely

Parked in the large Car Park opposite the pub for a walk around the Roaches..Signs in the Car Park allowing parking for walkers and also stated on website so a nice find for after walk food. Excellent welcoming pub and staff and very nice inside,good selection of beers and food. Food was excellent and service very good would highly recommend if in the area and will be using again..

Lovely place - great ambience, excellent customer service by a server who took time to listen, advise on choices and preferences, our first visit but will not be our last. The food was fantastic, my steak was cooked to perfection. Other members of the party were as pleased with their choices. Generous portions of good quality produce, good menu - was recommended by 3 separate friend groups - did not disappoint - highly recommend 😁

Dropped in as passing on our way back to our caravan site. Planned to have just a drink but ended up stopping for Sunday lunch as the inn had a fabulous atmosphere. Food was amazing. Service fantastic. Small portion was more than enough for my husband and I.We will definitely return.

We were walk in customers for dinner. They managed to accommodate us. Food was excellent and service very good.

A group of 8 of us called in, midweek for lunch and a couple of pints. All the meals we had were first class and the real ales were well kept. Highly recommended. We'll be back

A gem of a place, located in a beautiful location & has been recently refurbished. It provided excellent service & freshly cooked food . We were allowed to stay overnight in our camper, which meant we could fully enjoy what this place has to offer. Thank you , we'll be back !!

Fantastic place to grab something to eat after a hike. Me and a few friends came here after hiking for a few hours. Met with a very friendly and upbeat barman who was very attentive throughout the whole visit. Food was served fresh and very quickly. Dessert was amazing too. Will definitely return if I'm ever back up this way.

Visited on Saturday evening and was not disappointed! We received a warm welcome by the front of house team and attentive, friendly service from all staff throughout the evening. There was a great choice of drinks behind the bar (the red wine was really good!) and the food menu sounded so appetising that it was hard to choose what to order! (We chose the flat iron steak from the main menu and Chilli Parmesan chicken from the specials board and they were delicious) The food was served in a timely fashion, even though everything is cooked freshly to order and it really was cooked to perfection - by far the best meal that we have eaten out in a long time, and overall good value for money. The lovely decor and relaxed atmosphere added to a great evening and we will definitely be returning….. (We did pop back the next day for a drink after walking on the Roaches as this pub is in a perfect location, and the Sunday lunches looked fantastic. Unfortunately we had already eaten our picnic, but we will know for next time!!! ……….)

We called in without booking and was told we could choose any empty table except one that was set out. The young male waiter brought the menus and asked what drinks we would like. The starters arrived very quick and was delicious. The young waitress brought the main course. Both were very nice and friendly. A credit possibley to good training. The food was amazing. The staff were very nice and helpful. It's just a pitty that we don't live closer as this pub/restaurant would be one of our favourites.

Once again, another country pub serving ‘bog standard’ food with Gastropub prices. I wanted just something light after a walk over the Roaches, so I was going to order a sandwich, until I saw the prices. They were titled ‘Our finest Baguettes!’ then the grubby, laminated menu continues to say- “All served on a white ciabatta!” …… Lol!! 😂 In the end I ordered a chicken wing starter for £8.95… and some chips for £4.75….For this I got five chicken wings which I suspect were microwaved, drowned in barbecue sauce and served in a small tapas bowl on a bed of wilted, undressed salad leaves. The tiny handful of frozen ‘skin on fries’ was also served in a tiny tapas bowl. Not only does Ye Olde Rock Inn not know the difference between a baguette and a ciabatta, it certainly doesn’t know the difference between good food and rubbish! They are very good at overpricing though! Absolute rip off Best Avoided!

Lovely pub: good beers, excellent service (friendly landlord) - the perfect (and the closest) place to go after a day walking or climbing on The Roaches!

Went here as our 1st restaurant let us down massively (wont go into that) , however we are so glad they did as we came here as a spur of the moment with the family/kids and everything was spot on from the moment we walked through the door.. the decor, the service and the food. We had a lovely waitress who couldn't be more helpful . I'd highly recommend and will be back again :) thank you all for a lovely birthday 🥰

After reading reviews and information on Ye Olde Rock Inn we decided to eat there. Can't praise this pub enough!! From the lovely dog friendly room we ate in to the stunning gastro quality food. Very clean smart inviting pub with a nice atmosphere. The owners Amy and Ed and our waitress Lauren were such nice friendly people. The food was perfectly cooked, presented beautifully, and tasted absolutely gorgeous it was alll perfect with good portion sizes. Beautiful modern but character pub/restaurant with function rooms. Excellent service from all staff. Family run. Top notch, excellent food. No faults at all. Highly recommended.

Visited today due to an antique valuation that was being held here. We were so impressed by the place; its menu, the staff and the look of the pub that we decided have lunch. We were not disappointed. The food is excellent, all home cooked by a chef who clearly knows his stuff. The manager/ owner is a delight and is obviously passionate about his business and couldn’t have been more welcoming. It was a chance find for us but we will certainly be back again before too long

Didn't have everything on the menu, no fish and chips! But what we had was OK. We had a choice of seating because we had our dog with us, but not in main area. We chose the dog room which we had to ourselves.

The bar staff were frosty and unwelcoming, when I asked for a serviette to place under the coffee cup, after the waitress had sloshed it in the saucer the barwoman looked across at our table and clearly gave me the impression that I should use the one set out for the meal. . . When the meal arrived the lasagna was dry and inedible and so was burger …. Frozen chips ? .....although I can concede that the meat in the burger was plentiful....sadly rubbery. An over priced pretentious menu in my opinion with unmet aspirations of fine dining, In my opinion The Rock Inn should do much better. I informed the waiting staff when they enquired if we had enjoyed our food that we clearly did not as three quarters of it was going back ...they made no comment. `my final impression ?....I will never return .

What a lovely premises! However The prices - ridiculous. £2.25 for a blackcurrant cordial with water. The pie was not worth £18 The food - ok. Absolutely fuming that they sell a ‘pie’ that contains no sides or base, only a bowl with a huge monstrosity of puff pastry on top. The Stilton and beef wasn’t great. The salted caramel roulade desert was fantastic The service - very slow. We had to start clearing our own table, as previous plates and many empty glasses were not removed.

First visit...lovely place, nice landlord & staff. Food was great & we didn't have to wait long. Was getting busy when we left but we've already agreed we'll go back 👍

We had an amazing meal this evening! The service is friendly and at just the right pace and the food is incredibly tasty. The Greek flatbread with the lamb is the best flatbread I have ever had, the ice cream and sorbet were the best ever too. Can’t say we bough good things about this place - only criticism is it’s so far from where I live!!

Thanks to a random overnight camping trip in the Peaks I ended up at The Olde Rock Inn for dinner on Saturday. I'm very particular with food and I have to say I had one of the best meals in the last few years and 100% the best blue cheese burger I've ever had!! Oh my goodness it was delicious 🤤 so much blue cheese and the black pudding fritter just made it!! For dessert I had banoffee pie, so rich and indulgent. Absolutely delicious!! We were also able to take my dog, were in the games room and had a few games of snooker. I didn't expect much but had a fantastic evening. The staff were super helpful and friendly and ill definitely be having another camping trip purely to go and enjoy another evening with beautiful food at The Olde Rock Inn!!
