Whilst we always enjoy the food from Roses, the new delivery service leaves a lot to be desired. The past several times we've ordered, food has taken over an hour and a half to be delivered. When you place an order for a 12:15 delivery, you do not expect it to turn up closer to 2:00pm. If this was sorted out, I'd give it a higher rating, but it's unlikely we'll be ordering again as we've never had the food arrive at anything like a decent timeframe and again, we've encountered the same thing. They are clearly overstretched on dealing with deliveries and Uber Eats along with walk-in customers.

Arranged to meet a biker there for breakfast. Pass the café many times in the past but never stopped there before. Ordered a normal breakfast with a mug of tea at a cost of £9.00. The tea was like tea but the breakfast was very disappointing. on the plate there was a fried egg obviously cooked in a pan filled with oil ( rubber egg ), a large portion of chopped tinned tomatoes, a spoonful of catering quality baked beans, two rasher of bacon that appeared to be boiled rather than fried or grilled and two large sausages that I would be surprised if they contained 5% meat. All edible just! Sorry ladies but I will just be passing by in the future

We booked for dinner as we knew the White Lion had reopened for food with a new chef. We were not disappointed the food was delicious, we had the rib eye steak, the sea bass special and the penne vodka. All were beautifully cooked and served. The service was great and the staff were friendly. We will definitely be eating here again.

Our second visit which was as good as the first. A great pub that has a mix of walkers/locals etc, very friendly & welcoming. Starters came with a lovely site salad(not the usual lettuce/tomato)but everything & fresh too. A sizzling steak on its way to a customer…we were sold on the smell as it passed by. We ordered ribeye, very nice & you cook it to your liking on the hot stone.

Visited this place with a couple of friends this Saturday evening. There were items on the menu that we didn't recognise. The waiter was excellent at describing exactly what was in each dish, and advising dependant on your tastes. Firstly I decided to try the aubergine chaat. Amazing! 😋 One friend sampled the chicken special and was very happy with her choice, and the other friend went for traditional samosa. All enjoyed. For main I chose the king prawn alleppy, which was perfect for me. My friends chose to have chicken dishes and they said they were very different from each other and delicious. The atmosphere was very pleasant with ambient table lighting. Service was very good, and of course with a smile. We all want to return as soon as we can.

Had a gift voucher for afternoon tea for two at the tearooms. Probably the best food we’ve had. Made on site and very fresh. Staff very helpful and friendly. This is a small rural building which apparently used to be the farm’s chicken sheds. If you want luxury silver service it won’t be for you but definitely couldn’t fault the food. Price is fairly high.

Amazingly hot, tasty and generous EngineMans breakfast! Doorstop toast.. cooked to perfection. Lovely friendly staff, nice environment- can eat inside or out. I read a previous review where they ate cake after breakfast and I don’t know how they managed it! Lol!! We’ll be coming back for our cake! 😁

Popped in yesterday for tea and cake whilst on our travels, it was lovely. Although I'm originally from the area, I've lived away for many years, so I've lost track of what's available locally. This place is an absolute gem and will definitely be on my list of places to visit. Please update your social media pages though, we weren't sure if you were still open.

First of all this is usually a decent pub, well kept, nice staff, good beer. Myself and friends have used it fairly frequently for Wolves home games over the last few years. I was in yesterday, Sunday 15th September, for a few drinks before the game. The beer wasn’t up its usual standard but was okay, no real issues with it. There was no game on the pub TVs so I assume they’ve got rid of sky, again not a real problem as I’m aware that it’s expensive for pubs to accommodate. However, I do have an issue with being charged extra for a beer when the prices were clearly labelled on a wall near the bar. When I asked why I was being charged an extra 20p for a pint I was told it was ‘matchday pricing’. The prices on the wall were then hastily removed. Bit of a shame to be honest, but there seems to be a culture these days to squeeze folk for money. If they’d advertised the prices correctly for that day, or offered to honour the original price stated on the wall, then there’s less of a problem. As stated, I’ve enjoyed visiting over the years. This just doesn’t sit well, though. Disappointing.
