We boked a table, we were warmly greeted and shown to out table,, The menu was ok, a little limited. There were some new staff working who got our order wrong, that was rectified, although very slowly. The main was again ok, the rice is a bit expensive for what it is, Now that Thai connection, from what the staff said the staff are possibly not from Thailand, which again is disappointing.. Will we go back? Yes but not on the weekend..

I have visited this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed! The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are very polite. I highly recommend getting the Thai fishcakes as a starter, full of flavour!

Very good, reliable place for Thai food, especially Prawns in batter, Green and red Thai curries. Excellent choice of real ales including Timothy Taylors landlord, Abbots.

We were warmly welcomed by the staff on arrival. There were a good choice of ciders available at the bar (as well as all the other drinks you would expect). Our food was freshly cooked, tasty and plentiful. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals which were reasonably priced. We will eat here again.

My family of 12 booked in for 7-30pm all seated by 7-40, orders taken immediately, starters all served together 8-10, time given to chatter before main course, not rushed. Consensus of opinion, amazing food & service. Then the uproar, they had run out of Coconut ice cream, so will have to return & pre-book the ice cream.

The restaurant s set in the back rom of the pub, probably the 1950's Snug. Nice Fire in the winter. Really has that pub Snug ambience, little to suggest Thai a Buddha head and some Chinese scrolls? Visited in past, but a family guest wanted Thai and my favourite closed on a Monday. Food was better than average but not great, service not to polite or caring but ambience poor -more suited to chicken in a basket or scampi. The

Visited this venue with friends after reading good reviews. The room itself it very drab and unwelcoming. The member of staff serving us never smiled and failed to interact with us. The menu is very extensive and prices quite high. When our food arrived it was disappointing and confirmed that you certainly do not get value for money. The four of us each had a starter, main course with 3 rice and four pints. The bill came to £92.00! We were the only people in the venue which speaks volumes. I would not recommend this restaurant.

This is run by a Thai family so the food is cooked freshly to order. We have been about 3-4 times and it's always been delicious. Excellent for veggies as well (which my daughter is)

4 members of my family went last night, I have one daughter whom can only eat bland food, No problem, cooked her a chicken breast & veg (more like a Sunday lunch) nothing to much trouble. 2 had the Mixed starters, very tasty, the other had 11 Koong Tod, delicious was the verdict. Main courses no 46 hot but not to much all the tastes could still be savoured . 22 & 62 the flavours were amazing, all with Thai fried rice followed by coconut ice cream, Yummy. The consensus at the end of the evening, AMAZING

I used to go to a Thai restaurant in Fillongley at a pub called the Butchers Arms. This was about 17/18 years ago. We used to go for special occasions as it was quite a journey for us from where we live. The pub closed down and i could never find out where the restaurant moved to. Apparently it moved to a couple of places in Meriden before moving back to Fillongley. I found this out two weeks by having more time on the internet to go through different searches and forums. Although apprehensive of going back in case it was not the same food i booked a table and reading the reviews it appeared good. I'm so glad i took the time to look this place up again because the food was excellent and as good as i had remembered . The Thai fish cakes, the ribs , the pork spring rolls and our beef stir fry was brilliant. The waitress made a mistake with our mains which was quickly put right and at the end she took time out and come and speak to us about the old place and what had happened since. I strongly recommend this place to enjoy excellent food.

Went with my wife. She had minced pork spring roles for starter, while I had the mixed platter. For mains she had Lemon Chicken while I had Pork Red Curry at 1/4 strength. A 1/2 portion of mixed veg and 2 portions of fried rice. We both enjoyed our meals. I had a pint of bitter and my wife a glass of chardonny. The bill came to £46 so eating Thai doesn't come cheap. Was it value for money ??; probably not but different for a change. The service was quite slow considering that there was not very many diners. Yes I will go back but not for a while.

I'm keen on Thai food and get to experience many restaurants through travel in the UK and internationally. This small and unassuming restaurant serves the best Thai food that I know. I have been a regular since it started many years ago in Fillongley and then went to two locations in Meriden and now back at the Manor House where it is flourishing. It is, by some margin, my favourite restaurant. The food is exceptional and prepared by the charming team under the guidance of Alice using the best of ingredients. I love the place. If you like pork and garlic try #37 - sublime

I've been visiting for sometime and even when the restaurant was based out of a Meriden location! The food has always remained fantastic and the service charmingly quirky! I'm so happy to see this restaurant on trip advisor and receiving decent press as the family which run this are lovely people, always friendly, non intrusive and happy to be serving the western world food from the motherland! The pork spare ribs are to die for and their Thai currys are packed full of flavour, you can tell they've been freshly prepared and not out of a jar!! I'll definitely be returning!

Many visitors to The Exotic Thai will be repeat customers, going back time and time again for the food. Many of those customers will probably have followed The Exotic Thai for many years, as it moved around. From the now closed Butcher’s Arms at Fillongley, to two separate locations in Meriden and now back to Fillongley at The Manor House pub in the centre of the village. Note that the restaurant is completely separate to the pub but in the same building (it used to be the old bar area). For those visiting for the first time the name might be somewhat misleading as neither the restaurant nor the location are particularly exotic. That’s not a criticism, just an observation. However, the restaurant is done out quite nicely and it’s miles more attractive than the last location at The Queen’s Head pub in Meriden. The restaurant is in one half of the village pub, which, incidentally, serves very good cask ales. The service is friendly and they’ll happily accommodate requests for variations in the dishes, as everything is freshly made to order. The food though, is very much the star here and everyone I know who has eaten here raves about it. However, be prepared for the extreme heat in many of the dishes. The minced pork salad starters and any mains described as hot especially! Bursting with flavour and beautifully fresh but extremely hot, even compared to other Thai food.In summary, pleasant but non-exotic restaurant with wonderful food that you’ll keep wanting to go back for – even the really hot dishes that make your eyes stream! All this in a village pub that keeps excellent real ales.

this place has had to relocate a few times but is absolutely at its best. its now in a lovely setting with a good ambience. we went on a Saturday night and it was full. its also a lovely pub so there is a good choice of excellent beers and wines.the service very friendly, the food excellentI had a chilli minced pork salad to start d a duck dish for mains, in a chlli oil and with cauliflower and aubergines. it doesn't sound as god as it was. its not cheap but average price - although the drinks are a little pricey the food was about £16 - 18 which is fine but Peroni is £4.40 and a large malbec £5.35 which pretty much doubled my share of the billbut wonderful food, lovely place, and friendly service.sverall, and excellent

We have followed this restaurant around the area, in its various incarnations, and it has always delivered perfect food. We're so pleased that the restaurant has carried on , after the very sad demise of Dee, the original proprietor. I'm sure he would be proud of how his legacy has carried on. It is not an exaggeration that this is my favourite place in the world, as I have never had food this sublime. My personal favourite is the sweet & sour cod .... Delicious :-)

We have passed the exotic Thai restaurant many times and as a last minute decision to go out for dinner one night we decided to try it. It was a busy Saturday night and we hadn't booked but the owner kindly managed to fit us in. The soup start was lovely and my partners beef massaman and my prawn and pineapple dish along with the rice noodles were absolutely gorgeous. Best Thai food I've had since we were in Bangkok! Will definitely be back!
