Terrible service. In the morning, they forgot to bring me breakfast - had to wait for an hour. In the evening - they forgot to bring me drink with dinner - had to take it to my room afterwards. Unpleasant to say the least.

The room that we were in for a gathering was attractive. The service was good. This hotel is about twenty minutes from a train station. A good venue for a smallish gathering.

I arranged a surprise meal and invited two special friends for my son’s 50th birthday last night. The room was perfect. If he didn’t realise he was 50 before, he certainly did when he entered the room … the ‘50’ balloon arrangement was huge and the flowers were wonderful. All organised by the staff. Gill and her team are so kind, friendly, welcoming with attention to detail. The food as always, was amazing. You made his memories very special. Thank you guys.

The staff were very helpful, pleasant, and polite. Lovely room, one towel between two people and one packet of biscuits. Breakfast was really nice except for the toast came about 5+ minutes before the breakfast. Lovely setting, ideal for weddings.

Lovely dog-friendly hotel literally 15 minutes from NEC. Access via busy dual carriageway and SatNav said we were there about 200m before we actually were (so don't worry). Plenty of parking at the front and overflow carpark up ramp to the rear of the hotel. Rooms are spotless, large and well maintained. Have kettle, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits (ask at reception for milk). There are also toiletries in the shower. There is a note to say to allow for the hot water to come through, but when it did it was glorious and plenty of pressure too. Blackout curtains are effective. There is a fold down table, ironing board, and a small table with chairs for morning drinks. We had booked a table for 6.30, but the restuarant doesn't actually open until 7pm, we were taken to our table at 7.10, but didn't receive starter until gone 7.30. Service was slow with a long pause between courses, especially between main and dessert. The team serving were fabulous - friendly, smiley and attentive but not overly fussy. The food itself was tasty and reasonable sized portions giving value for money. Bed comfortable, two pillows of different softness. Our room was to the rear of the hotel above the kitchen and the extractor fan can be heard (went off around 10ish; on at 6.30). Breakfast can be pre-ordered (useful if attending event at NEC) and you can also order sandwiches to go too which is a nice touch. Breakfast is ordered, but there is a good range to choose from including vegetarian and for cooked breakfast choice of eggs. Only "negative" was only having one standard size mushroom, which looked a little lonely (but I'm being pedantic). The wait was totally acceptable for breakfast and the coffee was lovely. All in all, great value B&B that is dog-friendly and a stones throw from the NEC and one that I will most definitely recommend and stay at again.

I have never looked back since I cycled through Atherstone and the Fish Inn is another reason on why I love this town. We had the lunch time special, that was cooked fresh. Wow! You could not get better. Clean tables, chairs great price. Thanks to all the staff for a great meal and friendly custom. Can't stop saying, this is a great place to eat.

My partner and I hadn't been out for a while for a meal and as we had heard great reviews about herbs and spices we decided to try this restaurant out, my husband booked online and was then called back to confirm time and date was fine. As we don't live in Atherstone but one of the surrounding villages, we booked a taxi (which wasn't cheap) to make a night of it as we were celebrating some good news. We were welcomed at the restaurant, we ordered, and to be honest, the food was amazing, but no sooner as we had finished our starters, our mains was brought out, we felt rushed. As we was finishing our mains a party of 5 or 6 arrived and was ushered out the back, to which one of the servers came over and asked if we could finish up as they needed the table, from the moment we arrived at the restaurant to the time we was kicked out was 55 minutes, to me that is rushed! We wasn't asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, I just felt like they was going to take more money from the party so we was no longer needed, I work in customer service and I treat everyone the same regardless of spend. We had been discussing when we were going to go back, but unfortunately, not anymore. I understnad its a small restaurant, but if they had overbooked, then they should have warned us at the booking stage, and we could have decided whether to go or not. It was a very expensive night for effectively a fast food experience. The taxi driver who brought us to the restaurant luckily took us back, and even he was surprised at how quickly we had been kicked out. I have never given a bad review before but felt I needed to manage future customers' expectations
