Restaurant Cracovianca in Coventry

This must be the worst restaurant we have ever eaten in ever! The service was non existent and when it did appear they were unfriendly and unhelpful and kept you waiting ages whilst they chatted in the bar and kitchen. The food was straszny [terrible] there was mouldy lettuce on the sharing plate and whilst the starter was passable as you expect the next course to be better it was not! The plates were cold as was most of the food, in fact everything was cold and poorly made and cooked. Our cat can make better Pierogi!

The service is very nice, but unfortunately it must be responsible for the unprofessional nature of the owners. We were with friends for a late Sunday lunch. Unfortunately, many of the dishes were already gone. It took a long time to order and the portions were rather modest in relation to the prices. Rather, we will not go back there anymore.

After having looked at the photos of the food on Facebook and having been made aware by friends from up north that this place exists, I booked a table for myself and a friend a few weeks ago. We knew it was Karaoke night, but it was really quiet – only an Asian family celebrating a birthday and us two. The entertainment volume was still quite high and we sat in the corner furthest away from Mr “Muso”. The welcome was friendly and the waitress was somewhat flummoxed by the fact that we wanted a bottle of wine, not just a glass. Fancied Rioja, but then it took quite some time till two members of staff disappeared, looked at us in surprise and then one of them came to the table to explain that they didn’t have any in the shop. So, one of the staff went to the off licence to get us a bottle of Rioja to charge us £18 for it? Hm, a bit cheeky though they were honest. We were then shown two bottles of white – standard supermarket ones which cost us triple the price. Took the shine off a bit but at least she said that the house wine wasn’t very good. Décor is lovely by the way. Cosy with atmospheric photos of historic places in Poland, wooden tables and country-style decorations. The first waitress returned to take our order. We both had the same: Herring Cracovianka style with nice rye bread and then Pork Tenderloin with wild mushrooms sauce (not many mushrooms which I was looking forward to) red cabbage and Silesian dumplings. Very tasty and filling, though I am a tad sceptical as to how much of it was home cooked. The dumplings’ texture reminded me of “boil in a bag” dumplings you can get in Germany and Poland and they were all uniform. Still, a taste of home. Another slight downside was that the food didn’t seem to be that hot, or if it was, it cooled down very quickly. My friend did ask for some tap water, which we got two big glasses of. This was after we had to clarify that we just wanted tap water, not bottled mineral water. When the bill came, we noticed we got charged £1.50 per glass of water. This was not only a cheek but in hindsight I found out that this is actually illegal. My mate was aware of this but didn’t want a big debate so we let it go. So, overall an interesting experience. Maybe I’ll return for the weekend special offer @ £13.99 for three courses. However, I don’t think we’d rush back on a regular evening. Shame, as I really wanted to write a glowing review. Some more work needed I think but they were friendly.

Another excellent meal supported by faultless service. Nothing is too much trouble. I have been a fan for a while, last night made a few more converts. I will definitely dine there again.

We were looking for some good Polish found and discovered this restaurant. The ambience is very pleasant, overall very tidy and clean. The hosts are very nice people and paying enough attention to each guest. My husband had two meals from the chef just because we said we were very hungry. By the time our mains arrived we were already full!!:-))) Amazing food, all done with taste, even pierogi were home made. We’ll be definitely coming back, thank you for the lovely meals!

Went there few times with family, once to celebrate family event and few times just for a lunch/dinner. Food is delicious, everything fresh and served appropriately by friendly staff. Fair place with fair prices :)

Food here is just amazing, quality, presentation and taste. Their beef and pork goulash is one of the best I have ever had. Dumplings were so good, my 4 year old couldn't stop eating! For dessert we had seasonal fruit pie with an ice cream, and it was equally great. Will definitely come back here with my entire family. Highly recommended to everyone, you won't regret it for sure

We're going regularly for a dinner and Cracovianca is surprising us with an incredible food and service. We was there last night for an Jewish weekend and as always they're surprised us as always - amazingly tasty. BEST POLISH restaurant in Coventry..........

Piękny wystrój lokalu, urządzony z gustem i klasa. Bardzo pomocna i przyjemna obsługa, zostaliśmy poinformowani o nowym daniu z kuchni Żydowskiej, które spróbowaliśmy ( 1 w miesiącu nowe danie z innego kraju) 4 dniowe kurs, bardzo smaczny i ładnie podany. Zamówilismy również kotlet drobiowy z ananasem, serem camembert, pieczonymi ziemniakami i surówką, porcjia była bardzo duża i smaczna. Z czystym sumieniem możemy polecić ten lokal, i dodam że ceny są bardzo atrakcyjne. Napewno będziemy odwiedzać częściej ;)))

Jedzenie przepyszne, każdy znajdzie coś dla siebie i napewno będzie zadowolony .Porcje bardzo duże napewno nikt głodny nie wyjdzie. Przemili właściciele którzy pomagają dokonać wyboru i świetnie zajmują się swoimi gośćmi. Napewno tam wrócimy i polecamy każdemu odwiedzić to miejsce bo warto.

The food is amazing, beautifully served and the portions are perfect! This place offers a range of delicious Polish cuisine dishes that make your mouth water. With the beautiful Polish Kraków decorations, music and food you feel as if you are in Poland! The owners always have a way to make you smile, I wish I could give more than five stars :))

The food is just incredible and so is the service. Very helpful, attentive and cheerful. The restaurant in itself is very cosy and I absolutely love the whole Cracow theme! It’s a definite asset! 100% recommend.

Our family had a great Sunday meal in this restaurant, it was amazing! We had a soup in a bread, hash-browns, rabbit and traditional SCHABOWY :) I must say its also in reasonable prices if u compare to other polish restaurants. Every single dish was sooo yummy. Interior design is beautiful and welcoming, atmosphere is worm. We gonna be regulars from now on :)

Postanowiliśmy dziś z rodzinka zjeść obiad na mieście. Wybraliśmy polska restauracje w Coventry. Znajduje się od centrum 15 min spacerkiem. Bardzo ładny wystrój. Jedzonko bardzo dobre. Polecam.

Came here on a Sunday with family and ordered the weekend deal. I have to say everything was very nice and decent prices aswell.

Friendly atmosphere. Great food. Each weekend something new. No stress about parking spaces - there s a massive car park at the very back of the restaurant. I love this place.

Jesienny klimat za oknem nawet na chwile nie przypominal tego, jaki czesto o tej porze w Polsce spotykalismy na krakowskim miescie... Zmarznieci i glodni zdecydowismy sie na kolacje w Polskiej restauracji, by choc na chwile nasze zmarzniete cialo rozgrzalo cos smakowitego.

The local is in the same building as Polish Club. There is parking in front of it - on the street or rear parking which much spacious. I like the theme there and that it suits the name of the restaurant. At the beginning I didn’t like the fact that we needed to wait long time to get drinks - which should come first almost straight after ordering them. But with time it got better. The food is good as well. Sometimes is too salty for me but usually is good. They also have a table (yes, just one) outside which perfect for summertime.

Hi. A great place. It looks nice and cosy. The service is nice and polite. Very good food for a good price. A perfect place for organisations of larger events. There were 30 people at our wedding and everyone felt very comfortable. The meals were warm and the alcohol was cooled. There is enough room for a dancer and a lot of outdoor barbecue space. Highly recommended!!!

Visited with my son’s Polish girlfriend, This is a truly hidden gem. The food was authentic, plentiful and amazing value for money. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Will come again.

I do like my Polish food, I would not suggest this place to anybody! The food use to be absolutely fantastic here with the previous owners. Now! Food temperature is inconsistent with no flavour. The service is terrible, they forget what you order and you have to wait for long periods of time. It is such a shame that since the the food quality and service has diminished so much that it is unbelievable. I need to find a new place for my Polish food!
