I've written a separate review to the hotel itself as I feel the restaurant deserves high praise indeed. We (a group of 6 women) were served a 3 course lunch on Sunday as part of our spa and leisure break. Each of us decided to try the roasted tomato soup to start, and it was superb. Possibly.the tastiest soup I've ever had, served with a generous basket of bread for the table. For mains, we had 4 beef dinners, 1 salmon with dill potatoes and 1 chicken. All were fantastic, and plates were cleared. Desserts were mostly chocolate and Bailey's mousse with a berry compote, again heavenly and hard to fault. We also ordered 2 bottles of prosseco, which was served chilled and with a smile. Wait staff were professional and friendly, smartly dressed and all around wonderful. Well done on serving an excellent meal. Thoroughly enjoyed by us all.

I went here with the family to celebrate my birthday this Sunday. We had the 3 courses for £20. What a lovely place to dine. The views over the lake just added to the very pleasant ambiance of the restaurant. The service was very good, the food excellent, the roast beef simply melted in the mouth. I could not fault it. Will definitely be going again.

Had a very pleasant dining experience here, however, it is not always open mid week. Initially the waiter got the menus mixed up and gave us the wrong priced on, however, he corrected his mistake when we advised him of the error.

Expensive, but just ok. Interior needs some soul, and some mood lighting. Friendly and helpful staff, but overcooked meat and cold environment didn't add to the experience.

Prior to the dinner we had a tour of the conference facilities of the hotel as prospective users in the future; this was by a friendly and efficient duty manager. We then chose to have meal in the Lodge, which was first class in all respects. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food very tasty and well-presented.I can recommend the Lodge as an ideal venue for dinner for a very enjoyable experience in all respects. The restaurant is at one end ot the hotel and spa complex, and has car parking directly adjacent to the door. It also enjoys views over the ornamental lake with fountain, yet is only a few minutes drive from J15 of the M40.

My wife and I celebrated our first year anniversary here as we got married at the Ardencote Manor and really was not disappointed. The staff really could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had the 2 course set menu, the chicken terrine starter was delicious and the roast beef was one of the best roast dinners I have had.Would defiantly recommend the lodge for family groups or a quite meal.

Sunday lunches can always be a hit miss affair, never knowing what to expect. We booked a table for 2 at The Lodge for 1pm. We were given a warm welcome and shown to a lovely table overlooking the golf course. We chose from the 3 course set menu. Each course was piping hot and beautifully presented, the meats were cooked to perfection. The waiters were attentive without being intrusive. I would recommend this restaraunt to anyone who enjoys fine dining at a reasonable price.

Our meal was at the lodge as part of a package in the hotel. A lovely setting. Very aesthetically pleasing food, the flavours were unbelievable, cleary a very talented chef. Being a bit of a fussy eater, a few more choices would've been nice and a bottle of wine was a bit steep. However the waiting staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for you!

Fixed price menu with a few choices in each category. All the food was tasty enough though it turned out to be the same stuff served at the wedding reception we were at the following day which rather detracted from the wedding.Service was fine apart from the predinner drinks on the deck which was slowInterestingly we were told our party of 8 couldn't be seated at 7.30 and had to choose 7 or 8. We chose 7 and were not seated til about 7.40 when the rest of the restaurant was almost completely empty...not sure what that was about.....

I spent a Friday and a Saturday night at Ardencote Manor with my daughter on a Spa Break Special. As part of the package our evening meals were taken in the Lodge Restaurant, where we were very pleased with the food, service and surroundings. In fact it was better than expected as food that is included with this sort of break can often be disappointing. It is certainly not the case when it comes to this hotel restaurant.

I loved everything about it. The decor the staff so attentive and polite catering for your every needs, but of course the food. My partner can be a bit fussy but had nothing but good words to say. The cheesecake with lime sorbet is to die for (pardon expression). The seabass had beautiful green sauce. You can sit outside on terrace, I would thoroughly recommend to eat here without a doubt.

The evening meal was included as part of a package with the Ardencote Manor Hotel, and as such I was not expecting it to be up to much, as often these types of add-ons tend to disappoint. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was lovely and presented very well. We had enough choice without trawling through a huge menu. The restaurant itself was very pleasant, and almost full, but did not feel too 'refectory' like. The staff were, however, extremely pleasant to deal with, and very very helpful. The Maitre'd was very welcoming and the other waiting staff were efficient and very friendly making the whole evening very pleasant.

The food was good, the reviews suggested it would be at least £45 per head but we paid about £30 per head with bread/olives to start, duck and lamb for main meal and a bottle of wine. The food was served quickly. It was really busy and most people were given a time slot when they came in - we had an hour and a half which was plenty of time. The food was well presented. I had lamb shank and it had a lot of meat on it!

We enjoyed two meals here in December 2012 for a NYE breadk. Both were amazing, the staff were very attentive too and assisted us with hesitation when we requested to move tables as we had been sat next to a radiator on full blast, that really was the only downside to the restaurant, the heat! Would definitely eat there again if we were ever in Warwick again.

Had Sunday lunch in a party of thirteen extended-family members. With the exception of the roast beef option, portion sizes were absurdly small. Nouvelle cuisine is one thing, but feeling insulted is another. The wild mushroom risotto (rather bland) would have fitted on a saucer. The 'skate wing' was a sliver roughly 4cm x 7cm - perhaps less. The food would have been expensive even if the portions were a reasonable size. Service was acceptable, if a little keen to hurry along to the end of the meal

What can I say! The food and service were impeccable!! We enjoyed a three course meal as part of a deal, so could choose from a limited menu or 'upgrade'. A complimentary amuse bouche was offered, which was very tasty. My only suggestion is that the set menu has some quite niche options - rack of lamb with lambs liver, guinea fowl, and skate - it would be good to perhaps offer something more suited to a tame palate (chicken, beef...?) That said, I chose the Guinea fowl and found it very tasty. I would also recommend ordering a side dish of veggies just to add more to the meal - but the food itself really is delicious, and very beautifully presented. The ambience is somewhat lacking and perhaps something more interesting could be done with the space to create more initmate seating areas, however nothing really wrong with it. Perhaps a bit too plain for my taste.

I booked this restaurant for a group of 12 for my friend's birthday. Having never eaten here before and only visited between sittings, I was anxious about it. I needn't have been! The food was lovely - very well presented and delicious. The restaurant is clean and the decor lovely - perfect for a special occasion. The setting is also gorgeous - we started with drinks on the terrace overlooking the lake. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and very accomodating - they even allowed us to bring in a birthday cake and eat that for dessert. The price for a Sunday lunch was very reasonable. I would definitely visit again!

We ate here as part of a package deal with the spa, and had a great meal including well presented ham hock and goat's cheese mousse starters, and very tasty salmon with cockle sauce and wild mushroom risotto for mains. Deserts were ok, although the sticky toffee pudding seemed a bit bought in. The wine list was very detailed with plenty of choice under £20. The best point was the excellent service however, from the really genuine and friendly french waiters who were both professional and happy to have a joke with the customers. It was probably a bit more than we would spend on a normal night out, but for a special occasion went down very well.

I have dined in many restaurants, some who say that they are the best in the world, but never had an experience of such superb quality of food, service and atmosphere as the Lodge Restaurant at Ardencote. After dining I requested to pay my complements to the Chef and was greeted by Luciano Catalinotto, Executive Head Chef. His knowledge and usage of fresh and local produce was second to none!!! He was a charming young man who even at his busiest time could spare me a few minutes to discuss his wonderful food, a rare courtesy in this day and age! Why has this Chef not been awarded a Michelin star? I religiously follow the Michelin guide and this place is "well worth the detour" from anywhere. If you do take up my recommendation to eat here, do ask to see the Chef! You will not only have a dining experience, but a gastronomic education aswell!

A beautiful restaurant where we were made to feel welcome on our early arrival taking drinks at the bar. Once at our table the staff were quick to come and take our order and offer more drinks. Our party of four for Sunday lunch were given bread and butter which was explained to us what type we had and this was very nice. We all choose the sharing starters which came out presented very fashionably but unfortunately the side plates that we requested, (the original ones from the bread had been removed) never arrived and it was difficult to cut and eat with two people over the platter. The mains arrived, one couple sharing the shoulder of lamb and the other having beef and chicken respectively. Personally i didn't think that beef and chicken should have not been on the same board due to cross contamination. The portions were very generous and were cooked to perfection, this could not be faulted and we were given 'doggy bags' for what was left of the huge lamb shoulder, (well enough for four people). The table was clearly not large enough for food and four people to sit at, this was evident as the staff moved everything to the centre of the table to make space and we had to request that empty dishes were removed to make more room. The plates were small and made the meal look squased once you had selected some of everything, including sides and Yorkshire pudding. The desserts were beautiful and presented with care and artistic intent, followed my coffee for all. We spent three and a half hours in the restaurant and were not rushed at all. The food was lovely and the chefs take care and attention in what the are serving for guests. The staff were kind and friendly but would have expected more from a two rosette establishments. We weren't offered for our coates to be taken which made it uncomfortable with them on the back of the chairs. One of the girls had an extremely short dress on, which when bending over, even though wearing tights was not a pleasant experience and quite unnecessary. Maybe something to bear in mind. Would we return, maybe. Like previously said, the food was wonderful, the ambience very nice and a lovely location, but you need to be aware of how overpriced some things were. Yes, we're are in a restaurant in Stratford, but did it need to be that expensive ...... a £40 bottle of wine with an average selling price of £14 ... £7 for a pint of Guinness and £14 for a basic cocktail. Finally the service charge of 12% which was £40 on the bill was rather excessive for the service received. Give it a go, but if you're on budget please take care with the surcharges, (not mentioned to us,) drinks prices and service charges.

Everything that a country pub with rooms should be! Open fire places, super friendly but professional staff and decent bedrooms. Exceptional food offer which thankfully goes well beyond the ubiquitous burger/fish&chips/sticky toffee pudding clichés. Excellent breakfast (with homemade marmalade!) Only issue was that the EV charger wasn’t working but they know that and are trying to fix it. As others have pointed out, bedrooms on the road side of the building are not the quietest so try to book accordingly.
