Second visit and excellent once again! The young lady serving could not have been more professional and pleasant. The premises were spotless, obviously someone cared about this business. I like to see when visiting F & C shops the fish cabinet empty. This means I get my meal cooked fresh and not luke warm with soggy batter. We were informed that our meal would only take around 5 minutes which was no problem to us. When it came it was faultless. The chips were not frozen, the batter was light and greaseless. The fish was very white and flaked up indicating to me that it was not frozen. We also shared a portion of mushy peas which again were excellent. All in all this was up with my top fish restaurants in the UK. I have been living on the West Coast of Scotland for the last few years and used to good fresh fish so reasonably knowledgeable. Incredible service, friendly, very professional and couldn’t do enough for us. I stopped in to discus a huge group order for 30 people. Gary kindly advised that we take his number, WhatsApp the order the night before so that they could collect the right amount of fish from the market that morning. Also advising that we include the names which Gary wrote in our orders for easy distribution!! We place a huge order for collection at 4:30, Gary and team were packing our order as we arrived and brought it to our car. I can’t fault their service and professionalism. THANK YOU.

As we were a family group of fifteen people, I was asked to hand in a written order the day before, with collection time and a contact phone number. Collected two boxes of carefully packed, hot food the following day, and it was delicious. Excellent, punctual, friendly service from all the staff - so glad we went there.

Wonderfully cooked and tasty Fish & Chips and Gary’s customer service was excellent! We ordered 50 portions of Fish & Chips and took them to Wilderhope Youth Hostel (20 minutes away). Gary had wrapped them up tight specially for us and they were still toasty when we all tucked into them. Thank you – we can’t recommend you enough!

Found Fryer Freeman through searches for fish and chips in the area we were staying and liked the reviews. One man in particular very chatty and friendly with all the customers and even thanked us for coming there specially for our food. We had our takeaway down by the river - very good fish and chips and piping hot. If we lived there, it'd be a regular !

Sometimes, fish and chips is the answer. Especially half way through a long journey. So we were in Craven Arms and had to stop and eat. This fish shop is just off the A49 virtually opposite the Marches strangest supermarket chain, Harry Tuffins. Let's start with the chips. I cannot believe there is anyone who has ever eaten fish and chips who does not have a chip first; and in that first bite can sometimes lie disappointment, but not here, Crisp outside and yielding interior. And the first. I had plaice and my wife had haddock. both were excellent with a very good batter indeed. We sat in the car with broad smiles, sticky fingers, and at the end, that feeling of "maybe I should have had just a few fewer chips". Friendly staff. Very busy.

Was passing through and stopped to look at Estate agent. Saw this chippy and thought I’d get is something lunch. The lady was so friendly and chatty when I walked in, I wasn’t left waiting and despite it being near lunch time closing the chips were out of this world. Thick crispy but soft and delicious! If I do end up moving up this way, I will return!

Stopped off at this Chip shop has I had seen the reviews and was not disappointed the fish was gorgeous and the girlfriends Roe melted in the mouth also the doggies had no complaints with the sausages

Fantastic kebabs and chips I stop in once a week mainly for my sons tea after I finish work. Tonight the NHS was appreciated and I was very grateful for mine and my sons dinner post work. I was given the meal as a token of appreciation for working for the NHS. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. It was delicious Always friendly and always have a smile for the public, No1 fish and chip shop in the local area. Highly recommend

We bought a standard cod and chip meal here. It was nice that there was a small portion available, as well as usual size. What we ate was fresh, flavourful and served quickly. We enjoyed the meal.

My friend and I stopped off at this Fish and chip shop on our way from Cardiff to Liverpool after the Cardiff Half Marathon. Gary was friendly and welcoming, cooking us tasty fresh fish and lovely chips to fill up on before continuing our journey north even though we arrived only 20 mins before closing time. The tea was a « cup of the month », it was so good we had another and Gary kindly didn’t rush us. The shop is the perfect place for a break from a journey, with parking out front. Lit up in the dark night, the eating area is warm, clean and has comfortable seating and several tables. A few regulars also popped in for takeaway. We’ll certainly be back again next year after our race.

We were staying in a nearby camp site and fancied a chipy tea, delicious chips and the Irish curry was lovely, my partner had a pie which also was nice, staff very friendly, we sat indoors to eat as there was a couple tables and chairs, definitely call again when we are over

Camping in the area. Went here twice as it was so good. Fish and chips freshly cooked. Irish Curry sauce is amazing and the kebabs are good too.Staff really friendly. Can get busy because it’s clearly popular with the locals too!! Sign of a good choice!

Been here a few times and it’s always been outstanding. We love the quality and freshness of it all (especially the made-to-order nan breads) and the ability to suit everyone’s mood or taste: great fish and chips, or healthy and fresh crunchy salad nan? Our favourite is the superb chicken nan with mint bbq sauce and salad with plenty of red onion, eaten at the tables inside so it is ultra fresh. Lovely friendly staff. Well worth a drive out to!

Very nice chatty lady who wrapped our food in tin foil to keep it warm, knowing we had further to travel before eating. Excellent, fresh fish and chips and the curry sauce was to die for. Highly recommend.

On holiday, just wanting a decent takeaway fish&chips.; Knew nothing about this place so taking a complete gamble. Requested plaice, haddock & large chips - was warned it would have to be cooked fresh hence a delay(I always like it when told this - great to have food freshly cooked). It was all perfect, £12 the lot, much better meal than some restaurants charging 5 times as much.

Me and my family stopped off at this wonderful fish and chip takeaway and were served by the most friendless staff. The food was excellent, fish was nice and crispy. Chips were cooked to perfection. To top it off, we were given a complimentary bottle of coke as our order was above £30.. thank you very much fryer freemans, we will most certainly call again, keep up the good work :D

Firstly, on arriving at the chip shop the lady did not take our full order before playing up the food. Therefore 3/4 meals were ready to go before even starting to make the naan for the kebab = COLD FOOD. The lady did not talk English and was relying on the young child to use the till. Apparently they had not charged us for our chips, where was the receipt for us to see this? We then got home and realised both curry sauce and a fish was missing! Appalling! The other fish was stuck to the paper with grease! AVOID.

This has to be one of the best chip shop's we have ever visited. Children's meals just £2 which include a fruit shoot, adult meal deals very reasonable & you can eat in with a few tables available. We went here before visiting the nearby castle (the cafe wasn't our thing). So glad we made the little detour to Fryer Freeman as we ate as a family of four for around £15 & staff were very friendly which is always nice when out & about. Would certainly recommend this if visiting the castle or hillside discovery center & at a fraction of the cost of the food they offer.

We arrived late into town and all the pubs had stopped serving food, so we decided to get Fish & Chips and take back to our campsite.

Craven Arms is only a very small town, so it is lucky to be blessed with two very good chippies. This is one of them. Beautifully cooked fish and superb chip shop chips. Staff are friendly and there is easy parking right outside.

A great fish and chip bar, fresh fish, hot chips, what is there not to like. On street parking makes it easy to get there, Staff are friendly and very accommodating. A real "British" fish and Chips place, well worth a visit.

Clean, efficient, good fish, chicken kebab and chips, street parking and supermarket across the main road with toilet, useful if passing.

go here every week on a wednesday the fish is amazing so fat and meaty and the chips are plentiful, will always recommend this chip shop its superb

food is lovely and fresh but staff a bit sharp and miserable. fish and chips are decent size portions and reasonable

We've used this take away a few times and it's not bad.The food is generally pretty good as is the value but service sometimes misses the mark. It's generally quite busy when we go and the serving area is small and so if someone else is waiting for something while your being served it's awkward because you're expected to pack your own bag while your food is bagged and thrown at you - this seems a little unusual and resulted in our fish (received first) being squashed by the wait of everything else received after!

I moved to the area around 14 months ago. Have used this shop since then. All but one lovely lady that works there (several piercings in ears) the staff are rude.

One of the best takeaways in the area. An extensive menu, so something for everyone. Quality ingredients prepared well and served up by a friendly and speedy team. What more could you ask of a local fish shop in the middle of Shropshire?

We usually visit here over any other chip shop as find best in the area. Staff friendly an food is reasonably priced.

Great menu, clean surroundings, warm and friendly staff. Shuts at 2 and we arrived at 145 for some lunch. Had the mixed kebab which was delicious, owner let us and some others sit inside to eat even after the 2pm close - great service, great food!

Camping up in the Greenway Touring park and decided to head out and get food to bring back. Me and my partner had the Tikka Pieces in the Naan bread. Would recommend.

The place is very clean, great decor and friendly welcoming staff. Great variety of food on offer, high quality and tasty and eat in option. We stop here often for lunch and dinner and look forward to the treat.

I was driving from Wales on way back home to Warwickshire 8 or 9pm and stopped by in the evening for fish and chips to take away. Cod and chips and can of coke I drove away to eat somewhere. Very delicious and tasty. If I am driving through I often stop here.

While camping we decided to have fish and chips for our evening meal. As we noticed there were two shops in Craven Arms, we took advice on which one to visit. This one was recommended as the locals tend to use it. I arrived at 5.30 on a Saturday. Parking was easy and there was no queue so I was served straight away. The downside was the quality of the food. The chips were on the soggy side and the fish thin and not brillient.

First came to Fryer Freeman in 1992, now live in the area so it's become my local takeaway. Newly refurbished, friendly staff, lots of other food on the menu as well as the traditional fish and chips. Plenty of parking in the area if you are passing through Craven Arms. Recommended to all.

So this has to be the best chip shop for miles around. I come here with my family. They have a great selection of food, the staff are always happy and smiley. The food is great quality and great value for money. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Sometimes the food can be lovely but the last few times we've been its been awful... Must be hit and miss as to who's working??!!!

An absolutely amazing chippy. Looks great after the refurbishment, the staff are always very friendly and the service is excellent. The food is second to none as it is always cooked fresh and to perfection :)

We have just moved into the area and first experienced the food on 'moving day'. We were not disappointed...great freshly cooked food - tastes great and good value for money. Needless to say, we've visited several times since and will continue to do so!

Been here many times and can say this is the better of the chip shops in craven arms , recently had a massive make over and it looks great and clean .

What a great little takeaway. Wide variety of food. Friendly staff. Tasty food. Fast service. Stayed in the area for a week, picked up fish n chips for two. After a long day it was a lovely foodie treat.

Bought chips at 16.30 when they had just opened and were piping hot. Great service with a welcome smile. Has a few bench seats to sit on. Looked all new
