Good size car park. Nice little convenience store attached to chip shop. Clean. Food served hot and decent quality.

Always a good takeaway here! We've never had a problem with the service or the food, they take orders over the phone (and now online i believe too) that you can pick up, rather than wait in store, which is massively convenient. Also mini convenience store with bread, milk, plenty of wines and beers etc and snacks, chocolates, crisps and sweets. No shortage of parking either!

im a wagon driver who's company pays on a snap account and this is the only place in the uk where they dont give you anything of your meal so wont be parking there again i will go to the raven and get a free meal with paid parking

Situated on the A41 is the best fish and chip shop in the Newport- Shropshire area. Cooked fresh to order, usually wait about 10 minutes for the food, and it's certainly worth the wait. Chips soft and fluffy on the inside whilst remaining crispy on the outside. The fish is always cooked to perfection - flaky and soft meat whilst the batter is hot, crispy with no grease. There is plenty of parking and very easy to find.

Spot on, stopped in tonight while out on my bike with a couple of work mates, we all ate in the restaurant, great portion sizes fair prices and the service was fantastic, we will definitely be popping in again.

Ordered by phone for collection, all was freshly wrapped when wee collected and marked up. Food was exactly as order, fresh, tasty and hot couldn't fault it!

Very comfortable seating and decor. Fish and chips freshly cooked to order and just right. Generous portions and reasonably priced. A wide variety on the menu including lots on the kids menu. The staff are friendly and attentive.

A good place to go for all sorts of takeaway food. Fish and chips, pizza, kebab, plus an assortment of essentials and alcohol. The food was pretty good too. We did hope to get breakfast one morning on a bank holiday, but they weren't open. Fair enough, no complaints about the shop though. Also a very large car park for truckers and caravans etc.

Stumbled upon this place during a stay in the local area, food was decent and portion sizes just right. Value for money and friendly staff. Food is cooked to order and the menu is quite extensive with a lot of choice.

Sit in and takeaway chippy with a large menu, highly recommend their pizzas especially if your dining in. The only negative I would give it that it can get quite roudy and noisy as it does attract workmen and truckers who treat it like a pub at times. Large free car park and quick service, also a convenience store and off licence inside the shop.

Long lorry trip,pulled over for my break, The chicken wrap was freshly cooked and was the best iv ever had, chips were spot on just right. Food was excellent, little slow service however food cooked like that well worth the wait Good shop inside the restaurant also, Very clean

Food isn't as good as it was before, think it's changed owners. More expensive than before too. Ordered a 9 inch pizza & chips & pop deal, a large kebab meat & chips and cheesy chips and curry sauce and battered mushrooms. They put the second two orders out under a heat lamp while we waited 4 or 5 mins for the pizza, then when we got home, I had no chips with my pizza deal, the wife had no curry sauce with her cheesy chips, even the cheese hadn't melted & her battered mushrooms were breaded. And father in laws kebab meat was cold, he had to microwave his.. won't be going there again to be honest.

This is an update and replacement for by 2017 review in which I gave a bad score. My family ordered a take-out meal for 6 in January 2024 and it was very good. The standards have improved massively and I no longer hold a complaint against the Newcott outlet. For anyone planning to visit and reading this, it is well worth a try.

Great food cooked fresh. Value for money

Firstly a recommendation. I recommend that if you are traversing the A41 between Whitchurch and Wolves then find 6th gear and accelerate straight past this establishment.Either stop at MDs at Whitchurch or head for Wolves for food or vice versa. After a terrible meal here last year and being on a Sunday afternoon,we though we'd risk it one more time. Chips bone dry,Fish batter like concrete.SF chicken had a weird smell and definitely not fresh.If it wasn't for the curry sauce to dip my chips in then I couldn't have been able to swallow them. We have left reviews on Google about the terrible quality food you will be served here early last year but they don't seem to have taken any notice. The usual chippy fare anytime outside of the main hours ie Dinnertime or Evening will be BONE DRY AND BURNED.Due to it's location and people hopefully reading the reviews they don't sell it quickly enough so it's left in the ranges dehydrating for hours. THEY WILL STILL SERVE IT YOU KNOWING FULL WELL what it will be like and LAUGH AT YOU as you pay a fortune for it as you walk out of the door.I don't usually use block caps in a review but you need to take heed of the advice. Lunchtime or evening can be hit and miss too with around 50/50 odds of getting a well cooked edible meal so please take this into account.Err on the side of undercooked if there's a lot of squaddies in from the barracks as they rush the orders then. My advice is just don't risk it.

Having driven/rode past this place on numerous occasions I finally decided to stop with the family. And what a great place it is, the food (Fish and Chips and a cup of tea) was absolutely lovely, it was nice to sit in and eat too. Will definitely stop again. I'm not local, but do pass it probably 5 or 6 times a year, mostly on the motorbike after a day in Wales.

Atmosphere in the restaurant area wasn't welcoming, service was slow and food was extremely greasy and did not taste fresh. The salad, what little there was of it, had seen better days and lettuce was brown and snotty. Chips were dry and tasted like they had been there for quite some time. Don't walk run! AVOID.

Nothing like it used to be. Ordered and collected for 5 of us on Saturday. Got back home to find items missing. Not only are prices increasing but you’re charging for something we’re not getting.

Had what was meant to be two large chicken Sheesh kebabs. Salad was missing save for a few bits of onion. Kebab was horrible processed chewy rubbish, not actual chicken, which tasted foul and gave us both bad stomachs. It was expensive and our order took over 40 minutes.

Use this ppace quite a lot as the food is very good. However, we always order online and go to collect 15 mins later. Sometimes the order is put together on arrival, other times we wait for up to 15 mins, even if the order is the same. In my last visit there was a long wait for a pizza to be cooked and I watched them put the other items, pie, chips etc, in a bag which sat on a non-warmed counter for over 10 mins. Got home and the food in the bag was barely warm. I don't know how the staff have been trained but they even put S&V on the chips when you ask them not to. We'll keep going though, it's a very good chippy

Amazing food!! They do a nice variety of cheap box meals too. Always hot. Tried their pizzas, kebabs, burgers, chicken, fish and jacket potato's and love it all so far! Would deffinatly reccomend.

Disgusting food. We ordered chips and they tasted like they'd been in the fryer for days. I'm not fussy but wow these were terrible, brown and crispy but somehow oily. They make you feel so ill. Found a small brown hair in them too. The staff were so miserable. We binned the chips.

Stop ✋️ don't waste your money , This used to be a decent place to eat , but unfortunately now ! it's gone downhill bigtime well it's dropped off of a cliff ! Prices gone up way high & the food has dropped to an all time low . Dried up junk ! Tastless ingredients. Most locals are aware now ,So only the misfortunate passing travelers will only get caught Now .

Very disappointed with chips today, anaemic and soggy. Got them home and were all squashed together. Fish was ok. This is the second time in a row where we have felt ripped off.

The food is great but my last 3 orders have been wrong and by the time I've got home it's too late to sort out. I won't be returning

We like the food from here, but the ordering process is so frustrating. We order online and are always given a 30 minute preparation time, so I go to collect at that time. You can then see any food you've ordered that needs pre-preparing (pizza etc) sitting on the hot plate at the side. The rest of the order can then take up to 15 mins to be sorted even if only fish and chips or other ready-to-go items. Surely the point of ordering online and being given a timeframe is so that you can arrive and collect your food immediately. Very annoying and often results in barely warm food by the time you get home.

Although I can't say much about atmosphere as we just visited it as short break while driving to Wrexham. The staff was very friendly. Had coffee and an ice cream. Place has convenience store, sitting area for those who want to sit and eat, a bar. Plenty of parking space for both cars and HGVs. Really good to see a good thing with large parking space and nice little eating joint in countryside of North Wales.

We were looking for something to eat on our journey from wales to dorset, when we passed Newcott fish and chips , took a punt and stopped. we all had the Haddock and Chips, extras onion rings, mushy peas, curry sauce, washed down with Tea and Coffee. The food was delicious, well cooked and hot. Even my Tea was good, and my husband commented on his Coffee was good. The place was clean and tidy, the menu choices were varied, Pizza, burger, kebab, fried chicken etc. would highly recommend

I love this place. The fish and chips are always superb, freshly cooked and delicious. It's clear to me that this family take their business seriously and offer a service second to none. If you're passing, please try it, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Worst place I've ever eaten! The kebab was dry and tasteless. Fries dried out. My stomach hurt a lot after eating it. I wonder if this is a safe place to eat. When we asked for salt, the service said there was none and we had to buy it in the store.

Ordered 3 x 1/4 pound cheese burger Lunch box, the two members stated their food was good, however in my opinion, the chips were satisfactory, however the burger 🍔 especially the patty was the worst I have ever eaten, rubbery and a vegetarian taste not a beef taste, totally horrible and bun was spongy. An awful Lunch Box and gravy very salty. McDonald’s 99p burger is 100% better

Good honest sit down dine in chippy... you never come out hungry

We called in the afternoon and ordered 2 chicken tikka with salad and chips to take away, costing nearly £18.00. When we got home (about 8-10mins) we found both the chicken and chips as dry as a bone. They must have been kept a long time on/in their Ranges. The staff should know not to serve food that is of a poor standard. Customers deserve better, I will not be going again.

We stopped here Easter Sunday. The place was really quiet. We ordered chips but they were really really dry. We have noticed a pattern emerging with this place. If you order during quiet times,ie late afternoons or national holidays,the chips and food may well have been left standing unsold for a long time. That's when you end up with it. The pie I ordered was as dry as sawdust and the pastry was burnt tough. I know these places have to make a profit but serving regular customers dried up chips and pies knowing full well they have been standing for hours is not good for business.I can only imagine the conversation you have when the customer has left with the food? Something like "😆😆😆😆" perhaps? Well,from the large property behind fancy gates and expensive cars at the rear of the restaurant,I can see you are doing quite nicely out of serving up burnt offerings for top dollar. I won't be returning with my dollars though.Too many times I've given you the benefit of the doubt. Oh,and tell the blokes behind the counter to smile more. They make me nervous.
