The best restaurants in West Midlands

Number 1 pub if visiting Coventry. A proper pub. Food is 11/10, highly recommend the lamb shank on a sunday but book well in advance as the pubs fully booked every Sunday.

My wife and I attended the Royal Oak on Sunday for a lovely lunch. When we was greeted by young lady, It was very pleasant. The pub wasn’t busy so we could sit where we wanted to. We ordered roast beef dinner and roast chicken dinner which is absolutely fantastic, great service pleasant staff and a fantastic pint of Camden Stout which was great as I normally drink Guinness but they didn’t have Guinness on tap. My wife took a cheesecake home with her as we were full, but we would definitely recommend this place and would definitely be attending again.

Stopped here for lunch Bank Holiday Monday, sat in the spacious garden with the dogs and ate some good quality food. Pub food has become so expensive last few years that what was once a regular activity has become a treat. So great when you do get good food and lovely staff.

Outstanding chicken achari and prawn passanda here at good prices. They even threw in free rice for us on our takeaway. We very much enjoyed it here.

My friends and i went for lunch today and all had cheese toasties the bread was the worst for toast they were all rock hard so couldnt eat much of it so wouldn't go back again

Well what can one say, went for lunch today with my wife food was superb, service was excellent and not too expensive and very friendly people will definitely be going back…..

Nice little bar, had a live band on who were pretty good, fair priced drinks too. Certainly worth calling in for a few drinks when in town.

Food was tasty, but sadly when i ordered a ham salad sandwich. I thought it would come in a t-cake like majority of cafés ive dined in.. But other than the bread, it was tasty. Fast service & clean.

Delicious Sunday lunch. Perfectly cooked meat, big selection of veg, potatoes. Value for money definitely and lovely service.

Staff are extremely friendly and always up for a great laugh. Portion sizes are very large, great value for money. Wide range of drinks to suit either a quiet night out or even a messy one. Amazing atmosphere all around be it in the restaurant or the bar. I discovered this little gem on accident, it was a very happy accident and I will be returning without a doubt. Delicious food. Quite a bit above average and the service was very good indeed. Pity we're just visiting on holiday, otherwise we'd go back.

I booked the Moatshed for a surprise 80th birthday party for my mum. We had just over 50 guests and I would say this was a perfect number for the venue. I was given a wide choice of items to create an afternoon tea menu, along with access in the morning to put up decorations. Nothing was too much trouble for the team, even when we had people drop out at the last minute - we were even given one guest's full selection of vegetarian afternoon tea to take home for her, along with a large 'doggy bag of leftovers. They catered for various dietary requirements, including vegan and gluten free, with no problems at all. I cannot praise them all enough - all the staff were a joy to deal, the venue was spotless and we were really looked after.
