Now the port has gone and the island house as taken over the food is absolutely gorgeous, the shop is spotless the staff are very polite, first time in ages I've enjoyed a takeaway but this was spot on .

Fish tasty but I have said to the guy three times I want curry sauce and in the end at home I have found there is no curry sauce. Not happy

Quite expensive but worth every penny had to wait 45 minutes for my order worth the wait too chips taste like they used to years ago when they was wrapped in newspaper and the large cod is the size of half a whale absolutely delicious 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋 my only complaint is that there's no delivery available so if I ain't got transport I can't get my fish&chips 😔😔😔😔😔😔

Great food. Which we are willing to travel a 8 mile round trip for but its hardly ever open when we do! A couple of times, it was closed for weeks at a time. What's up with this?! Surely that's why you have staff to cover these inconsistencies and carry on providing a service for customers?! P.s very annoying you are not on uber eats or just eat or even take card payments! 🤔🤔🤔

Just had battered chips pie mushy peas couldn’t eat it it was horrible the chips were all limp and greasy no meat in the pie pastry was doughy you can’t see what s going on behind the counter strange set up not going there again

I have been eating from here since the day it had opened. The consecutive best chip shop of the year awards that these guys have earned, still doesn't reflect the quality of the food that the serve, and the superior customer service that they provide! It is always a delight to enter into this shop. Very professional, very polite and all in all the best chip shop in the West Midlands and a real contestant for the best in the country! Had roe chips and peas and it was cooked fresh and it was delicious. The staff are so nice and friendly. Highly recommended

Drove there especially as one of the better chip shops, placed order, £35, waited over 10 mins, get home and item missing. Thing is she asked about sauces and salt and vinegar and wrote it on the receipt and it was still wrong. Very disappointed

Bought a chip butty. Came on two slices of bread rather than a T cake. Chips were good but sliced bread you must be having a laugh.

Beef dripping battered chips yum

Been using this chippy since it opened. Best damn chippy in the area,. Everything is fresh, well cooked. The fried stuff is allowed to drain after cooking so it isn't swimming in grease, I've even sneaked a peek into the kitchen through the back door excellent hygiene standards. Staff are polite and helpful Definately deserve 5 stars

Usually great fish and chips but last night wasn't the best had large cod £8.20 and it had been freshly cooked but when got home the fish was full of water and the chips wasn't that warm Sorry but usually have been great .

The fish was delicious and my partner enjoyed the chicken kebab. Unfortunately the chips weren't very hot and I would hope that sometime in the future they will take debit card as payment.

Please don't waste your money here - one of the worst fish & chips we've had in a long time!! We haven't been here for awhile but remember they fish & chips here being really good so we thought we'd go back. I was worried about getting parked because I remember it being really busy with people queuing down the street so when we pulled up & it was empty on a Friday teatime I should've been concerned. We were charged over £15 for 2 reg fish & chip specials & 1 roe & chip special. We had 3 different size cartons & 3 different portion sizes. The roe was thin to say the least but the fish was awful. It was like scraps of fish had been battered together but there was definitely more batter than fish. The best I can say is the chips were ok & it was hot.

Ist time having fish and chips from this place. Won't be the last. Best cod I have had for ages. I don't normally have battered chips but after I saw that the battered chips were cooked in beef dripping I had a mix of normal, cooked in sunflower oil and the, less healthy, battered. Very tasty. And to top it off. The gentleman taking the orders and the lady serving were chatty and friendly. *****

Apart from the queue because of the pandemic the customers stood in middle of road instead of queuing along the wall of the chippy. But soon as I got in service was Brill and they also asked me to wait out in car and bought my cod fish chips and dinner out to me. Food was great to consume too.

Lovely food at a good price friendly staff.

Been waiting to try the chips from The Port for ages, but there’s always been a queue or it’s been closed. Just by off chance today, it was open with no queue. A clean, tidy place and welcoming staff. Social distancing rules being applied to good effect. They only accept cash currently, not sure if they accept card. But there is a cash point next door. I requested a medium tray of battered chips, to which I was told by the Asian gent serving me they’re cooked in beef dripping (this is excellent customer service in my opinion, as normally I don’t eat beef (being Hindu) and that he’s thinking for the customer, so thank you for that). The chips on the other hand, are absolutely amazing, pipping hot, fresh and the batter is light and isn’t as heavy as some places. It hasn’t been heavily salt or too much vinegar put on. The curry sauce is nice and moorish. I’ve waited so long for battered chips and The Port has done very good. Highly recommend and I will be back for other and to try other items on the wide selection menu. There is few parking spaces on the side down Tudor road or you can park on the main road

Amazing food from Dudley Port chip shop

We had cod & chips, and my daughter and her partner had sausage & chips. The fish stunk like ammonia meaning it was cooked when in a state of decomposing, the chips were really greasy which upset my daughters & her partners stomaches. Will never use this chippy again.

First time going and the food is spot on. The staff have all got a big smile on their faces. Kebab meat and chips was amazing. Great portion size and everything tasted fresh/amazing! The only criticism is the batter on the fish was too thick, meaning it was slightly soggy. I suspect that the batter is room temperature before frying. Ice cold batter and really hot oil = the perfect batter. Really good work. We've found our new regular chip shop! 👍👍👍

Award winning fish and chips. Choose battered or plain chips, loads of specials, and their chicken kebabs are to die for :) Mediterranean or Tikka cooked over a grill - none of that processed nonsense here. Friendly staff who are very efficient though expect a queue at peak times. No delivery or dine in option yet (12/2019)

By far the best chippy in the black country I travel from Dudley to go here, the food is always fresh and piping hot, the kebabs are top quality as well, chips are fresh and not grease at all, top quality food

Great food and friendly staff if your looking for a place to go for a quick and tasty meal this is your spot however get your wallets ready because some of the things on the menu can be quite expensive

Absolutely love the food from here, the chips are definitely the best in the area. However am disappointed at how much they've hiked the prices up and lowered the portion sizes recently. We used to go at least once a week but go a lot less regularly now because of that. The quality of the fish went down so we stopped having that, and now the other portion sizes have dropped too.
