Best traditional fish and chips for miles around. I travel from West Bromwich to Carl's in Wednesbury passing many other inferior fish and chip shops along the way.

I’m a regular at this chippy, but the food has been going downhill for a while now. 2 pieces of fish stuck together on top of each other instead of a fillet and chips greasy and mostly batters. Won’t be going back.

I've always used this shop...drive 5 miles from home to use them...but this time the food was awful...fish was broken in half..dry and cold...paid £2.90 for chips and mostly chunks of batter....the guy wasn't there..as I'm sure he would not let this food out like that....cold..and a total waste of £16...time to find another shop.

Best fish and chips with very generous portions. Staff are great. Quick friendly service. You can also order online too.

Probably one of the best chippy shop I’ve ever been food tip top sausage and saveloy 😍😍😍 and the chips wow 🤩 100% coming back here I know it’s abit pricey but that’s what you get for quality food 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

Trouble is we can’t stop eating them Better than them battered orange rubbish you get elsewhere If you want serving fast don’t bother going here the queues sometimes are massive but that’s a good sign in my eyes. Get on the end of the queue and enjoy

OMG!! Fish from here is lovely… but today grabbed a portion of chips, pot of peas and pickled onion… small bottle of coke… £10.10p!!!! What the hell… for that price they should change the oil regular cos tasted vile! … honestly can’t believe it… and believe me I waste money, I’m not a penny pincher… can understand cos because it’s expensive… but a few chips… never again!!

Food was excellent hot, and the staff are 👌🏻 excellent. Really is good to see people do things so well top-notch💯

After reading a few reviews online I thought I’d give Carl’s a go. I’m so glad I did. The chips were fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside, the fish was white and flakey and tasted lovely. If I HAD to pick fault I’d say the batter was just a little too thick but even that was crisp. Nothing was swimming in grease either. Basically, what I’m trying to say is, WOW! You won’t find better than this locally. We’ll definitely be back.

Ordered Donna meat and chips with salad absolutely piping hot and delicious the salad was so fresh an Donna meat was best iv had in long time ....enjoyed it so much told my son an he and his family ordered also tonite an they said the same well done carls ...👏 iv always had my fish from here with chips there the best fish and chips around ...but this is first time iv had delivered an was amazed by how hot it came so if u dnt wanna go out in cold I suggest order from here

Lovely. We went when visiting my partners parents who recommended it. Was a 15 minute drive and worth it. Freshly cooked, big portions, always a good sign when the queue is outside and going up the street.

I'd heard many rave reviews about Carl's but it's not very local to me. Was in the area so thought we'd try it and I'm glad we did! A small queue on arrival but I didn't have to wait long. Food was fresh and tasty and not overly priced. Will definitely visit again when in area.

It's was my first visit to Carl's chippy after passing it loads of times on the 40 bus route. Its a small chippy with friendly staff and probably one of the few remaining chip shops still in business in wednesbury

I have heard a lot of good things about this place and i remember going here regularly as a child with my parents and grandparents so i thought I'd try it when i was in the area. Not what i was expecting to be honest, in my opinion, it's just a standard, over priced fish and chip shop.

Always go to this chippy - great food and always popular as the queue goes halfway up the street. Only think to note is parking at the side of the road by it can be tricky at busy times but always worth it

Iconic chip shop in wednesbury,people have grow up with carls...there can't be many shops that people are happy waiting in a que half way up the street to get there tea.

After a quick google search, Carl's fish and chips came highly recommended in the reviews and rightly so! This is one of the best fish and chips I've had in a long time and, the portion sides were really generous too. Would 100% recommend this to anyone nearby. The only downside was the parking outside the shop which was for permit holders (locals will probably know this already).

We were after a Fish & Chip shop as we were passing through Wednesbury. Carl's fish & chip shop came up on a google search with good reviews so we decided to give it a try. It was the best fish, chips and curry sauce we have had in years. We could not fault any part of the meal. The staff were very friendly and did not have to wait long for our order. The shop itself is very clean . Can wait to go back for another fish meal. Would recommend this shop to anyone who loves decent fish and chips.

Wicked fish & Chips with a reasonable price tag.

First of all I would like to say that I would not recommend this place. I went in there one night and order chips gravy and peas. The lady who owns the store always looks miserable and on average you have to wait around 45 minutes for a bag of chips most of the time. They are too tight to always be cooking the chips they would rather only make chips when a certain amount of customers are in the store. And the portions are very small don’t eat here. Go to James fish bar which is only 2 minutes away walk

It's been sometime since I used this chippy. lovely in the past but on this occasion the fish was dry and tasteless as were the chips so won't be buying in the future.

Sorry to say worst chips ever not usually like this but today had chips but when I got home realised it was a bag of scratching £1.90 in the bin

This is a great fish and chip shop. Everything I’ve had from here is excellent and the staff are really friendly. There are too many rubbish fish and chip shops around that palm you off with overpriced substandard food. There’s none of that at Carl’s. This chippy was brilliant 40 years ago and it still is. I’d recommend it to anyone.

If you want proper fish n chips,then go no place else..food and customer service excellent..

Went to this place on 11th June just wanted to say that it is the best fish and chip shop I have been in. Staff very polite and happy .Food was excellent. We shall return
