Dropped in having seen the £10 Sunday roast offer online and found the pub surprisingly quiet, why is it not heaving at this price? The offer was on beef, turkey or gammon and came with parsnips, carrots, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, peas, cabbage, brocolli, a large Yorkshire Pudding and plenty of gravy. The beef consisted of one slice of beef but perfectly cooked and like the rest of the meal very tasty. All freshly cooked but with only a couple of other tables occupied we found the wait quite excessive. Good local ales, brewed on site. Would we return, of course what is not to like about the quality, the value and the friendly staff.

Slightly late review , stayed here on Wednesday last week for 2 nights after watching 4inabed . Greeted by jenny and Lee absolutely lovely and warm couple and very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble . We stayed in the fitzherbert room , lovely and cosy , big TV, shower lovely. Everything was spotless . We had dinner there on the 1st night, again lovely. Also had a few pints of Lees home made beer from the onsite micro brewery. Would go back just for that x the breakfast in the morning was fab, huge sausage , lovely black pudding ,mushroom etc all cooked really well . The atmosphere was lovely , very friendly locals and other guests . Great place to go if your after nice walks with your dogs. They also dog friendly. Slept well , and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will go back again x Jason and myra xx

What a beautiful little find, sadly we only stumbled upon this little gem as we were already staying locally so we didn't get to see the rooms, but we will definitely be booking our next trip to stay here. However we did have Sunday lunch here, the food was so tasty, the beef was cooked to perfection and I was astonished at the price such value for money, for good hearty and quality food. I would highly recommend eating here to anyone. I honestly can not fault our visit, pefect food, welcoming location and such lovely and friendly staff. Thank you for having us, we will be back I promise 😊

Disappointed reviews read well .outside advertising 4 in a bed .so thought I would pop in for Sunday lunch . On ordering sat in n corner very cold waiting for lunch looked about a good clean wouldn’t go a miss toilets unclean shabby .food arrived Luke warm not sure offered and condiments just brown sauce and ketchup on table asked for cranberry turned up with mustard oh Yorkshire pudding burnt pure black and watery gravy .landlady wasn’t welcoming it wasn’t friendly or warm . Saw other customers commenting on food and how cold pub was .and how landlady was not welcoming 5/10 price reflects on meal and lower for 3 /10 for hospitality

We stayed here 05/04/25 in our campervan on the car park so cannot comment on rooms but the pub is a lovely country pub in a nice quaint quiet village - both fab hosts very friendly and helpful - we ate there Saturday night great menu and the food was hot fresh and delicious - good portion sizes, there was a local jam session on so busy pub and great atmosphere and we booked in for breakfast on Sunday morning after hearing about Lee’s BIG sausage - it did not disappoint - and I can confirm the biggest sausage I’ve ever had - again breakfast was fresh hot delicious and great value for money - with a big pit of tea. We will definitely recommend as a great place to stop over in camper vans /motorhomes and will return to try their bedrooms, and they have great plans for future stop overs including loos/water/ehu etc 😀

We went for Sunday lunch, which was on a £10 offer, which, to be honest, was all it was worth. The beef was good but difficult to eat as the knife was so blunt. There are lots of different vegetables but only 2 tiny roast potatoes and no mash. Very thin watery gravy and barely warm. Annoying, there wasn't any salt and pepper on the table and we weren't offered horseradish or mustard though it was brought out upon request. The food took an age to come, though the bar was quiet. It's not somewhere we'd re visit. Certainly not worth nearly an hours drive to get there. Bar wasn't cosy, and furniture was uncomfortable. Their social media posts are very good, though.

Cosy pub and nice staff. Sunday lunch was a disappointment, although the presentation was lovely as were the vegetables but only given one small slice of beef each, certainly would not have been enough if you have a big appetite. I know the offer us on but surely a roast dinner includes a good portion of meat. Also they had lamb on the menu but was not available.

Singer on which was a bonus and she was really good. Would definitely come and stay again 😊

Booked a stay in January with my boyfriend following a walk nearby.. paid £109 for our room. Upon entering, the room was freezing cold and the radiators weren't working. What was most concerning is when we moved the towels a ball of dust dropped from the bathroom towel rail. Ate there in the evening.. I had the brisket burger which was excellent and I would recommend highly. My boyfriend however had the scampi which was burnt. When he asked for tartare sauce they said they didn't have any.. what was frustrating is it's advertised on the menu with the scampi itself but weren't informed upon ordering the dish (which was £18). I ended up sharing my dish with him so he had to enough to eat The staff were lovely but given the cost of the stay, dust balls in the room and the poor main it was overall disappointing which is a shame

As Southerners, it’s not hard to please us with a proper northern pie and gravy. The Greyhound Inn was hands down the best pie we’ve ever eaten. We had the minted lamb pie and it was tender, full of gravy thick enough to stand a teaspoon in and filled us to the brim. The staff were also very accommodating and lovely. Fabulous range of ales and beer too. Would 1000% come back.

We just returned from a lovely dinner at The Greyhound, which was the closest pub to our Airbnb and also recommended by our hosts. The cosy pub is run by a family with young children, and the female owner was incredibly welcoming. My wife had the halloumi burger and I went for the barbecue ribs, both of which were excellent, not to mention enormous. The beer battered onion rings were the best I’ve ever had anywhere. I’d happily recommend the pub to anyone else staying (or living) in the area.

A perfect place for a Peak District dinner, bed & breakfast in a cosy but stylish pub. After a long muddy walk we found a very warm welcome at The Greyhound. We started with a few late afternoon drinks in front of their woodburner ,playing board games. Then freshened up in our comfortable and warm rooms. Then a nice dinner ( catering well for gluten free and vegetarian requirements)and some pool and retro video games. A good breakfast too! I took the dog around the village for a frosty walk the next morning- they are very accomodating even with our clumsy and not so fragrant golden retriever. We will be back!

My first visit, what a find, a real Country Pub restaurant, its not pretentious, its a proper country pub restaurant, with a style, roaring log burners, a welcome, with a great Sunday Lunch menu, home made soup that's more like a main ! clearly locally sourced food, and prepared by a chef who know how to cook, definitely NOT a microwave option. On a grim weather day, it was most certainly worth the drive to enjoy the experience. If you enjoy fresh food, cooked by a chef, and an atmosphere, its well worth the visit. Yes , we will return. Thank you to all behind the scenes for making it all happen.

Dined with friends and were treated to quite a quirky experience. The pub was busy in the dining area, and appeared very dog friendly with all but one table in the dining area to the rear of the pub being accompanied by a dog. The staff were welcoming and there were home produced ales on tap from the pub's Micro Brewery which were enjoyed. There was also a band which was a very pleasant surprise, with the barman taking turns to lead the singing. The menu seemed quite extensive although that rapidly changed when the waiter told us that there were "no pies" and "no pizzas". Eventually two of us settled for the speciality 18 hour brisket burger to which the waiter replied that the brisket burger was in fact pulled pork "I should have told you that before". The atmosphere was good, the beers fine and the food OK, particularly nice homecooked chips, and we enjoyed our evening. Would we give it another go, yes, but please have the full menu on offer?

Great 2 night stay. The owners are a young family, working really hard and making a really good go of things in difficult times. The pub is characteristic, and cosy . Nice cosy fires in two of the rooms, a little games room with free pool table, good background music and a great selection of handcrafted beers. The food was homely, very tastey and plentiful, both breakfast and evening meal. Again, loads of effort goes into the food The room we had was a good size as was the bathroom, along with a decent shower. Great location, near to loads of walks, national parks etc. No shop in the local village. Overall top stay with very accommodating hosts who are doing a great job of running and growing a local business.

We came across The Greyhound Inn by accident, after a long walk in the hills. And what a find it was! We were welcomed by a friendly barman who recommended a stout in the absence of Guinness made locally by his son in law. Dare I say it was better than Guinness?! (it actually was). My boyfriend tried three other local beers and they were all superb. The dining area had a lovely romantic ambience with fairy lights casting soft glow and candles on tables. We were already very happy and comfortable after a long day, but then the food arrived and it got even better. Food was amazing - super fresh and all round delicious, plus best chips I've ever had! We even got a carry bag of beer to take home with us. Thank you ❤️
