Great, nice to see some decent craft beer!

Great pub and restaurant. Best Indian food I’ve ever had!! We came on a Saturday night and needed a table for 9, all the staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much. Thank you from all 9 of us!

Didn't stay over but this pub is a credit to the village.

I rang on the Friday night and asked to book a table for 3 for the Saturday night for the food.The lady who picked up the phone said couldn’t fit us in for 7 but instead to come in for 7.30. When I gave her my surname she said to me you know we serve Thai food.I said that’s the reason we booked.My surname can be mistaken as Muslim.Turned up on the Saturday with the family at 7.30 and was advised as soon as we walked in they do not serve thai food on the Saturday.A bit of a contrast to the conversation the day before.It was too late to book in anywhere else.On vacation in the area and such attitudes are a bit prehistoric considering my uncles fought in the Second World War to protect our freedoms.

This B&B was the perfect stay for my trip to Alton Towers. Lovely pub downstairs with lovely locals, even a local cat! Great comfy bed with a well cooked breakfast in the morning. Lovely area, nice and quiet and would definitely visit again.

We visited here from Alton Towers Hotel for dinner. Great experience and the Indian food was outstanding.

We stayed here a couple of years ago when we wanted to go to Alton Towers for a couple of days. We didn’t hesitate to stay here again! The 2 bedroomed apartment was lovely, clean and well presented. It was our daughter’s birthday when we visited, it was a nice surprise for her to receive a birthday card and a bottle to help celebrate the occasion. It looks like we will be doing the same for her birthday in 2025!! Everyone was so nice and welcoming 😎

A community owned pub that was a pleasure to visit. Staff and locals were very welcoming, with good food and drink. Mons Thai food was some of the best Thai food we have eaten, top draw. Rooms were lovely and reasonably priced. A special mention for Jane, Emily and of course Mon for making our stay enjoyable.

Popped in here during a 6 mile walk up the valley. Lovely sunny beer garden and great beer. Very dog friendly inside and out.

Visited the White Hart for the day, kids loved the playground, staff were really nice and friendly, those drinking were very impressed with the local brews.

Great local community owned pub in the heart of Alton. There is parking to the rear, local cask ales, fabulous play area for the kids, plenty of room to sit and outdoor seating. Well worth a visit

I was at a wake here. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The food was delicious . I can't comment on the general service.

Stopped here for some drinks. Very welcoming. There was a food vendor outside in the beer garden. They gave us a generous portion of pulled pork topped with various sauces which fed 2 of us.

So we were a visiting family of four, two teenagers and we were spending the weekend at Alton Towers. Having looked into staying on site as we had done when the kids were younger, we decided instead to stay local and travel in instead. Found this pub with a two bedroom apartment attached which was 1 1/2 miles from the Towers in a lovely little village next to a church. It proved to be an excellent choice and half the price compared to staying at the Towers. A roomy well presented apartment with everything a family would need for a short stay. You have to except you are staying above a busy pub and it was very busy each evening, so it did get a little noisy on occasion, but not enough to disturb our stay. Parking was also a little tight but as we were away most of the time anyway,we worked around this, no problem. The people were all very welcoming and the Wi-Fi was perfect. Although we didn’t get to eat in the pub (fully booked each night), the food did look lovely. The beers were great and we had a brilliant time. Very impressed, would happily stay again if in the area. It’s clear that as a community run pub they were doing their very best to support the village.

Found this lovely little pub when everywhere else was fully booked they went out of their way to accommodate us. We was very pleased with our authentic thai food and the atmosphere was very cosy and homely. Recommended.

We stayed for 2 nights in the apartment, it is our 2nd stay here. Came as a family of 5, I would say if you are taller than 5ft 5 in the apartment, be prepared to bump you head, I have 2 boys 5,10 and 6 ft that had some sense knocked into them a couple of times of the top of the door frames. But given the teenage attitude I get at times this was secretly quite amusing. The apartment is lovely really cosy and has all the amenities you need. Really comfy beds would have been really nice to have a good night sleep but fire alarm went off at 1 am both mornings due to a fault, this couldn’t be predicted though and no one’s fault. And John was very apologetic about this. The Thai food is amazing, and would highly recommend and really accommodating, we had someone with a nut allergy. The staff are really friendly, pleasant and were happy to help. I would recommend here to stay and would stay again.

Booked our 2 night stay here for a visit to Alton Towers with the grandaughter and looked forward to a lovely thai meal as a bonus. We already knew check in was at 5 but didnt expect the place to be locked up on arrival at 16.45… no matter… and right enough bang on 5 the place opened and we checked into our spacious family room… plenty of sockets to plug chargers into … nice beds, nice views and bathroom but ohh my… the people on 4 in a bed show would have had a fit… thick mould all over the rollerblind in the bathroom which was a let down unfortunately… hey ho… went down to a very quiet bar to book a table for a nice thai meal only to be told they dont do monday and tuesday nights.. contrary to what the internet had told us and both the nights we had booked so no thai for us ☹️ We had an early night and settled in… the church over the road think its a good idea to ring the bells literally every 15 minutes throughout the night which initially was quaint but at 2 in the morning was a bit much… Early to rise for the day at Alton Towers… and although plenty of coffee and tea sachets no bloomin milk or whitener 🤦🏻 Gasping we went down for breakfast and a charming thai lady took our order… limited to cereals,yogurt or full english… the full english was probably the beat breakfast we have had in B&B’s… really nice. Jumped in car and was literally 4-5 minutes drive to Alton Towers… perfect! All in all a nice place let down by the constant church bells and mouldy blind which was surprising considering it wasnt cheap for a B&B.

If you want a quiet nights sleep don’t stay here !! Music is blasting downstairs right below us can hear it like they are performing it in the bedroom. Such a shame as pub is lovely Was told they were closing at 9 tonight obviously not. Would not recommend if you want a good nights sleep.

Came here having never had thai food and wow this is now my favourite place to eat The food is amazing ,and ive not stopped telling people about this little gem of a lovely cosy pub and amazing food,and very friendly staff and i cannot wait to visit again soon

Fantastic venue that is nearby Alton Towers. Staff who work at the breakfast hours to the the staff who work in the afternoons and evenings behind the bar are extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating. My only complaints are the late nights at the bar such as karaoke etc can be disturbing to residents when trying to sleep and the showers aren't very catering for tall people. However, this is a lovely little place to stay when going on nearby trips such as Alton Towers and I would hugely recommend to others.

Came here for Christmas Day, pub was full of locals, music on, everyone happy and chatting away. Both bar ladies run off their feet, singing, laughing and joking with everyone. Proper little country pub - gutted we missed the coronation but will be back over summer! Thank you. :)

Absolutely shocked after a day out at Alton towers I went the white heart everyone in the toilets was sniffing white powder the atmosphere was very un welcoming so I went over the bulls head across the road were the workers had teeth and a service with a smile

Excellent place in Alton. Make sure you pick a night when they are doing the Thai food, which was outstanding. Saying that, we went another night and very enjoyable it was. Very friendly staff and the locals made us feel welcome. Highly recommended.

I know the White Hart well, but I think the bar staff and Benny's Thai food deserve a 5 star review. Firstly, the bar staff are immensely friendly and helpful and go out of their way to ensure that their customers have a good night. You can't take this for granted nowadays, so well done to them on a fantastic job. Secondly, the Thai food by Benny is just exceptional. If the Restaurant was in London it would be the talk of the town, as it is, we get it here for a very fair price. There is a good choice of restaurants in Staffordshire Moorlands and therefore tough competition, but in my view Benny's authentic home made Thai food is the best. The waiter and service provided were excellent

Restaurant was excellent, welcoming, good service and every dish we had was outstanding, the dips and sides were my favourites. The menu has plenty of variety and we all thoroughly enjoyed our authentic thai food. Prices are incredibly reasonable. Tables are well spaced out. Enter the pub turn right for the restaurant, turn left for the bar. Restaurant only open Thurs-Sat.

Visited with the family in the evening after a day at Alton Towers. Food and service excellent with a varied authentic Thai Menu. All our dishes were superb, we will certainly return when back in the area.

Really good standard bistro food. It's not cheap but had a really good pork belly dish which was full of flavour.

We stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting Alton Towers. Great value. Lovely, quaint old building, oozing character and history. Apparently owned by the town as they bought it to save it from closing, which is amazing ! V nice Manager. Good value on drink. Unfortunately no food when we stayed (weekends only I think) but breakfast was very good and cooked fresh. Room was very pleasant. The only complaint I had was the noise of the church bells. They ring every 15 mins or so 24 hours a day. They are incredibly noisy and disturbed us hugely (we were at the back facing the church). Ultimately, although this is a super little property, we slept very badly for this reason. Perhaps it would be different in the front rooms. Otherwise, a great little inn to stay in.

Me and my friend had a day trip to Alton towers, and wanted somewhere to eat afterwards before we headed back to Hastings. I found this place via trip advisor and saw only good things. I can only add to these contributions by saying that the pub was lovely, friendly staff, clean and most of all, out of this world authentic Thai food That they do every Thursday! Well worth the money and fairly priced. It’s just a shame we live so far away, otherwise this place would be our local.

This is a property offering comfortable overnight accommodation with breakfast, a pleasant bar but no food. Your choice is order a takeaway or drive to somewhere else. After a four hour drive this is not what you expect.

Huge room 103, beautiful location. Most people who visit Alton Towers don’t actually visit the village, but it is very pretty and VERY friendly. 2 little supermarkets within a 5 minute walk, that are surprisingly well stocked.

Stayed here overnight before visiting Alton Towers. They were not serving food the night we stayed, however they phoned around and booked us into another local pub to eat. Really helpful with the room and so courteous too. Quiet room with shower/ bath and comfortable bed. Breakfast had plenty of choice and the cooked meal was delicious and plentiful. Staff chatty and helpful and made our whole stay really enjoyable. The hotel isn’t far from Alton Towers and the village of Alton is really pretty.

Very refreshing to find somewhere that's right on Alton Towers' doorstep with fantastic customer service and a personal touch thrown in for good measure. Excellent accommodation for staying in for a few days. Staff were very friendly and had a fountain of knowledge regarding the surrounding areas of Alton which made a nice change from visiting the village for just the theme park! Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here at the weekend with 2 of my best friends. Was planning a day at Alton Towers first and then staying here but one of my friends was taken ill so we turned up at the hotel a good 6 hours before check in and they couldn’t of been more accommodating by letting us have our room early so my friend could sleep. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we didn’t get to eat in the restaurant so we ordered food in but it smelt delicious. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and the fresh coffee was fabulous. Would highly recommend this place and hope to come back on our next visit to Alton

Stayed here for one night after a day at Alton Towers on my daughters birthday. After a day of walking, queuing and riding, it was great to only have a 5 minute drive to the B&B.; Safe off street parking is provided and we were warmly welcomed and shown to our room.

Love this place. Stumbled upon here, car parking for guests in the back, game room with xbox, darts and pool table. Asked if we could have a table and they worked around some reservations and managed to seat us - and thank god they did!

We only stayed for one night but it was great. We thought the kids would be knackered after a full day at Alton Towers but as they were made to feel so welcome we enjoyed a couple of drinks in the bar whilst they played skittles, pool and on the x-box.

Top Thai. Great quality food. Beer is also good. On top of this you get great service, so good all round.

We went here to have a drink and recover after being scared away from the B&B; we had booked. White Hart didn’t have spare room but immediately called another place nearby, let us talk to them on the phone and before our drinks were a quarter gone we were fixed for alternate accommodation for the night. The two of us visited this charming community-owned pub last weekend and were so pleasantly surprised. The bar staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Good range of well-priced drinks, a flight of three local-ish beers (£3.40 which is astonishing!), as well as offers on G&Ts.; The Thai cuisine was excellent - prepared freshly for our table and served with no fuss at all. The taste? Sublime. Then it was upstairs to our room (number 2 is enormous, with three beds, ideal for a 4 person family!). There was a view of the local church, very comfortable beds and a sparkling bathroom with very clean fixtures and a large shower. Excellent all around. Thank you to the staff for a memorable weekend - we will be returning in the Spring!

We decided to visit the White Hart having been told about the quality of the Thai food. Not only was the food some of the best Thai that we have ever had, but the staff were very friendly and everything was reasonably priced. We will be back.

I stayed here with my girlfriend on 1 and 2 of November during a trip to Alton Towers. The room is massive and comfortable. The breakfast which is included was great, staff very friendly, bar has a great atmosphere and they do a great Thai meal from Thursday to Sunday. It is also walkable to Alton Towers if you don’t mind a bit of exercise, or otherwise just a 5 minute drive. It’s local to small shops and amenities and other bars and restaurants if you want a bit of variation.

This pub is so quirky it's great. The staff are super friendly and it's got that old county pub feel. Then all that coupled with a games room and brilliant authentic Thai food what more could you ask for.

The White Hart is a must go to for authentic Thai food. The menu has a good range of traditional Thai dishes. The Tom Yam soup is delicious spicy and fragrant. The stir fried basil was also fragrant and mouth watering it's just a pitty we didn't have room for a dessert. One we will definatly visit again, we are planning what to have next time already.

My friend and I booked this hotel for one night as it was the closest and cheapest to Alton Towers. The room, the atmosphere, and everything in between was pleasant! The highlight for me was that it was dog friendly and I got to pet a lot of dogs!!

My wife and I went to the White Hart for the first time last Friday evening. We were there for 5pm, and it was quiet. The barman made beer recommendations that we enjoyed on the rear patio.

I stayed here during my visit to Alton Towers at the end of the month, the staff were very friendly, free car parking and room was basic but lovely. The next morning breakfast was served and was delicious. I was only here for one night in the double room, but if I need to do a trip like this in the future, I’d happily return!
