Lovely place and can’t beat the food/service. Pre ordered for a table of 12, arrived and food swiftly came out and wow - delicious. Everyone’s order was amazing. Can’t fault the service, big shout out to Lewis and Samuel. Thank you so much, would definitely return!

We have been for dinner and found out about the thursday steak. My boyfriend and I both had the fillet, simply divine, perfectly cooked. The staff very friendly also. Nice atmosphere, we had a great time!

Popped in at lunchtime by chance after visiting the Artisan Market. The service was exemplary; lovely, friendly staff who were very welcoming and the food was delicious and fresh (I had tuna & sweetcorn sandwich and an iced coffee), with plenty to choose from. Would recommend and definitely go back!

Most amazing pub I’ve been in. The staff are great and can have a laugh with them. It’s the best place to watch sport or even go for a game of pool. Great atmosphere. Amazing deals on shots and bottles

My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Verzon House.  I was so pleased we chose to stay half board as the food, both breakfasts and evening meals were perfect! The taste and presentation of all the food we had was incredible, we were both very impressed. All the staff we met were very professional and polite and we were made to feel very welcome. A welcome that also extended to our dog Ziggy, who also enjoyed accompanying us for the short stay.  Our room, Midsummer Hill was everything we’d hoped for and more. The bed extremely comfortable, the decor lovely, the shower was excellent. Having a small jug of milk in the fridge was also great to see, it’s normally the first thing I ask for when we stay somewhere, but this time i didn’t have to! Our room and the whole Hotel was extremely clean, decorated to a high standard and has a lovely character. If we lived closer we’d be a regular for dinner but I can say we will definitely return for another break.

I went here for lunch with a friend and the food was delicious, really good value for money as well. The staff were friendly.

Very tasty comfort food. I love the vegan fish and the vegan pies in particular. Will definitely be making this a semi-regular treat from now onwards. The pricing is also reasonable, unlike a lot of places these days. Highly recommend to everyone.

I have been to alessi at least 20 times over the last couple of years and have always enjoyed the food and service with no complaints. Unfortunately the same could not be said for the last recent visit on Saturday 2 November. This was a family visit for my mums birthday. I had booked via WhatsApp and all been agreed. However when entering, it became clear that they had messed the bookings up and we were not showing on the table plans. I was told that we would have to wait 20-30 minutes whilst they put a couple of tables together. I would not have minded this too much, however was given no apology, and was made to feel like their mistake was mine. When taken to our table, it was clearly just put together, right by the front door and bar and not great. At the end of the night I approached front of house to give them my views, I was not happy with the service tonight. At this point I received an apology, shame it took so long to get one. Overall, the experience was not good, and given the amount of money that was spent, and the poor service received, some free poppadoms just didn’t cut it.

Excellent BBQ’d pork ribs! Beautifully presented and very tasty. Good atmosphere. Convenient from Stanshope, recommended by locals.

Had a lovely light lunch here in September, breaking a journey north. Café was small and comfortable, service was friendly and obliging and excellent scrambled eggs with salmon fitted in with special dietary requirements. Great coffee. Only downside is steep steps to cloakroom which might deter elderly and also disabled visitors (but doesn't deter the cheerful service!)

Excellent meal out with family. The lamb was cooked perfectly and complimented the rest of the dishes! Personal favourites were the Potatos!

Visited with friends after a night out in Knowle. Another great curry. Not overly expensive. I recommend the Morchi. Staff very helpful. As they have been since I first began eating there in the early 1980s.

I’ve been seeing a couple of nasty reviews about this establishment recently so I wanted to voice my own review because honestly these hard working people deserve every 5* rating they have and much more, I’ve been coming here for many years since they first opened. They have fantastic customer service and treat you like family, their food is by far the best in Birmingham and you know damn well it’s excellent quality, I’ve seen people on here saying it’s “pricey” but it really isn’t, if me and my wife order food online from a different establishment we’re looking to spend at least £60, here we always pay between £20-£30 for a family of 3, this is amazing and I’m a big guy I eat a lot. Another thing I will say that you will notice is how well these guys work as a team, and they never screw your order up. Truly amazing traditional chip shop and staff, give these a try if you haven’t already!
