Alessi Indian Restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent

The Alessi hosted a charity evening and the food and service could not be faulted. The Alessi also made a generous donation to our raffle as well as helping us raise a significant amount for our cause through ticket sales. The restaurant is beautiful and we will be back again soon - thank you so much!

Once again i cant praise this place enough . Lovely food lovely staff and amazing decor they make you feel so welcome ❤️thats why we keep returning time after time if you havent tried Alessi yet get yourself booked in

Always consistently excellent cuisine. It just knocks spots off anywhere else in the area. Friendly staff, great service, great choice of beer, cider, wines, cocktails, including tasty non-alcoholic lager and mocktails if you are driving. Lovely atmosphere and just completed a very chic refurbishment. It's a great place for couples, families, friends in a classy dining area. Take aways are also excellent, providing the same tasty and consistent quality, but sometimes you have to be prepared to wait as they are very busy, which i don't mind when the quality is worth it. Booking recommended at weekends. Lovely village setting away from the noisy town centres. Free parking available nearby. Highly recommended!

We were keen to try this restaurant after learning it had won best Curry House award for the UK, on arrival staff were very friendly and attentive however that was the only part of the evening that lived up to anywhere near our expectations, Chicken Tikkka starter dry and lacking in flavour, Lamb Rezala ok but nothing amazing, Naan, 2 slices dry and bland, 2 slices dripping wet in garlic .. no consistency. Small portions which for us was not a problem but if you've arrived with an appetite be aware. Overall extremely disappointing but the 2 members of staff were very pleasant.

Alessi re launch first night re open we came as a family of 8 and it was amazing from the moment we walked through the door . The new makeover is beautiful and welcoming The food was excellent and presentation was first class. The service was 5 star! The staff were very attentive and very welcoming. Just want to say thankyou to jake , ash & team for serving us throughout our meal. Highly recommend this restaurant if you haven’t tried it yet get it booked you wont be disappointed

This is the second time visiting the restaurant. Both times we have had to keep our coats on, it is always freezing cold, uncomfortably so.The staff were very inexperienced, answered “I don’t know” to everything we asked and when clearing our plates, piled all the plates on top of each, other at each persons setting scraping all the food off in front of each persons place setting, with sauce flicking onto our clothes.The monkfish was slimy, it didn’t taste like monkfish more like a cheaper cut cod cheeks and the sauce was awful. We will not be returning.

We arrived when the restaurant opened and it was freezing! It was a cold night and we were the first person there but would have thought they could put the heating on timer so it was warm! It was so cold I nearly put my coat back on! It’s a shame as the food was lovely, but the temperature of the room ruined it for me! I would return but only in summer

We visited tonight as a family. The staff were phenomenal as always, very attentive and efficient. The food is simply delicious and the cocktails divine. Tonight's special was curry and a cocktail and it was amazing value for money. The ambience and decor always makes it a very special visit. Would definitely recommend.

Had a delicious Christmas lunch today. First time eating out for Christmas and was not disappointed. All three courses were delicious. Nice mix of English and Indian food so we were all happy. Thanks you for a thoroughly enjoyable Christmas. You all worked so very hard- well done. ❤️❤️

Visited here tonight with friends and really enjoyed it.Staff were friendly and helpful couldn’t of done enough for us.Food was outstanding & portions are huge. Will be recommending all family and friends to come here to.Definitely one of the best Indian curry houses I’ve eaten at. I can see why they have won the restaurant of the year award.

We visited Alessi’s this evening and despite arriving 15 minutes early we were shown to our seats immediately and were handed the menu to peruse. There was then a 15 minute wait until our drinks order was taken and then our food order was taken.This was our first visit and had we known about portion sizes we probably wouldn’t have a starter and a main, in addition to the poppadoms and delicious relishes which came fairly quickly. However, between the poppadoms and the sharing starter that we had ordered there must have been at least a 35 minute wait. We were just about to chase when the starters arrived and it was well worth the wait. All elements were super tasty, freshly cooked and piping hot. There was then another long wait before the mains turned up. Again freshly cooked, large portion sizes and super tasty.We could not fault the food in anyway whatsoever - absolutely delicious. It’s just that the slightly overlong gaps between courses gave a rather disjointed feel to the evening.To be fair there was a large party( 10?) whose order was taken just before ours that may have caused some of the delay and the food appeared to have been freshly prepared rather than served up from previously prepared bulk .Would go back for the food, but would only order a main and would expect to have to wait a while.

I really don't want to slate the restaurant too much, the service is good (though you sometimes have to wait for a table even beyond your booking time) and it's nicely decorated inside, the curry is just always underwhelming. We've given it a few tries in the hope and expectation that it's better each time, because we want it to be better! It just disappoints. The tikka massala tastes like Heinz Tomato Soup (my partner said this and she's not the only one I've heard this very specific criticism from) and my Madras was pretty flavourless. Nicer ambience and surroundings, but the Royal Balti across the street knocks spots off it for the actual quality of the food being put in front of you, as well as the value.

First meal out after lockdown and it didn’t disappoint the service was first class, the food was gorgeous, very friendly atmosphere, no hesitation in recommending the Alessi and can’t wait to go back.

We visited Alessi in Audley for an outdoor meal last Saturday. We had popadoms starter and main and had lots of cocktails to go with the foodFirstly, the food is incredible, this is our first time dining inside at Alessi however we have been having takeaway from them throughout lockdown and the food is twice as good!The cocktails were great and all had a good kick to them and tasted great, better than any other place that does cocktails in the area They also have a large selection of draight beers and lagers and even a cider!And thirdly the service was great, they were very busy but they managed to see to us and get everything we asked for quickly, This is a must if you’re a fan of Indian food and cocktails

We have supported this business from the very opening day. Have dined out with friends, had takeaways and have associated them with my business and local community groups. However in recent months the takeaway food has been at best poor. We have had items missing, poor quality food and decided not to use it again. However 3 months later we decided to give it another go. We ordered a takeaway (sat 17/4). Whilst eating my wife found a large hair in her food, naturally this was off putting for us all. My wife called the takeaway and spoke to the “manager” who was very rude and insulting. He said we always complain about their food - well yes if it’s poor, why not? It’s not like the cheapest takeaway! He informed us that due to us complaining we were no longer welcome at the restaurant or to use their takeaway service again. Shocked isn’t the word. I then messaged them to ask if they would like to come and pick up the inedible food and the message was ignored. We have now filed a complaint with the FSA who need to investigate this place. Avoid and use the Balti would be my recommendation.

Best decision we made. The food was fantastic. There were a few more options on the menu, and we felt like we got more and better quality for our money. We had madras and it was exactly how we expect a madras to be. Spicy, full of flavour. Naan bread was awesome as well.

I’ve had a couple of takeaways in the last couple of months and I will go back again but I have been a little disappointed. I liked the chicken spinach curry (sagwala) - it’s spot on for my taste. I like the softness of the monkfish tikka. It’s not like normal monkfish. But I do like it. One time it was a reddish colour and another time it was grey. I wonder if the marinades were different? (I think the first one looked more like a Tandori marinade whereas the second one looked more like garamMasala). It wasn’t as good the second time. I was most disappointed in the seekh kebab starter. It was very firm and rubbery. My favourite Restaurants and takeaways do it tender and it falls apart. The Tandori king prawns were not tender either. They were rubbery and chewy. The best Tandori king prawn main is at Maybank Indian and they melt in your mouth. I quite liked the Tandori lamb chops here though. They were tasty and quite tender. They are recommended. Maybe not as good as the Spice Exchange in Milton or Lahori Kebabish in Shelton but close enough for me to order the lamb chops again. I will definitely keep trying Alessi because places do have ups and downs but having been here a few times it isn’t as consistent (for takeaways) as my go to places elsewhere. So that’s why I’ve given it 3/5.

Offer a timed delivery service. One hour later delivery still hadn’t arrived plus they have the nerve to charge you a delivery cost. Greedy owners taking too many bookings. Pay cash so you have a chance of ordering from elsewhere when it doesn’t arrive.

Don’t normally write reviews, but this was disgusting. We picked up two meals from the restaurant last night and when eating the tandoori mixed grill, we found a long black hair in the meat. This put us straight off and due to hygiene concerns, both meals were placed in the bin. We called them and they apologised and offered a free meal next time. This is not acceptable and we had no evening as a result. Would have preferred to have been given our monies back, this was not offered only an apology, sorry Alessi this is not good enough, hygine is paramount at all times.

Well, what can we say... we visited as a family of three and felt extremely safe with the covid guidelines in place. Lovely, inviting and clean restaurant! Staff were extremely attentative, especially Jake who looked after us during our visit. The starters were generous and gorgeous, whetting our appetite fornthe main course which was chicken korma and half a roast chicken and chips and salad. Everything was ample, tasty and cooked to perfection! Its not very often if ever we are unable to finish everything on the table, but we were beaten! Will moat deffo return after lockdown..highly recommended already to everyone that we know. Genuinely aromatic and gorgeous flavours on everything we ate! Well done and thankyou for such a lovely meal! Stay safe and see younthe otherside of the 2nd lockdown.

The Chicken Tikka Mossala (Mild, No Coriander) Is the nicest curry I’ve tasted across S-O-T never tasted a curry with the flavour it has and the creaminess. The only thing I say about Alessi is the naans can be hit or miss (inconsistent) I always have the garlic cheese naan and sometimes it can be really cheesy and garlicy other times there’s literally no cheese or garlic and the naans are like 2 quid more than a plain. Which is disappointing I guess. Other wise it would be a 5 star review as you won’t taste a better curry anywhere else.

Went here on a Friday evening with my partner for the first time. Can’t fault anything at all, the restaurant is lovely and modern looking, staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was amazing! I ate off the curry and cocktail menu which is such good value (cocktail, poppadom, starter, curry and rice for £17.50!) the chicken balti was so amazing the best I have had. Will definitely be returning!

We won your competition which we were thrilled about. The food was amazing, expecially your balti theres just so much flavour and chicken is so tender. Also such a great offer if we would of paid for it. Just £17.50pp for poppadoms and dips, mixed starter each, curry, rice and nan and a cocktail. Such an amazing deal!!. Great portions too and didnt even eat it all as we were stuffed. We will definitely be back. One amazing offer.Really enjoyed the starter too. Sooooo much flavours. We will be back very soon!! Also if you want to bring the kids along which we did there was chicken nuggets and chips as my youngest is abit fussy and so glad you had these lol There was also option's of fish fingers and also curry options too which were around £4 which again is great value as not much difference in a McDonald's. Normally we receive a good service and the food is normally good. However a number of items (10 popadoms ) were not given when we collected the food. This was not noticed until we arrived home. So I called to receive a refund for these items. However this was refused, they did offer to bring them out to us but this wasn’t realistic as we would have finished the meal before they could arrive. I still find it hard to believe that you would refuse to refund the items you did not give us !!! So you have taken our money (no matter how small) not supplied the food and then refused to refund !!

Until I downloaded the foodhub app, I had no idea that Alessi would deliver to us in ST5!We ordered our fav poppadoms and chutney tray...omg! How we have missed you!Chicken shashlik was so tender and the sauce was delicious. I added extra chicken for £1 and it was enough to share. We cannot wait to order again!

I’d heard great things about this place, so decided to splash out (it’s a tad expensive for the area). However, we were massively disappointed. In the COVID 19 landscape, takeaway was the only option. Delivery time was reasonable. The starter was excellent; Onion Bhaji and chicken tikka. However, the mains were bland and tasteless. Lamb sagwhalla was particularly disappointing. I did try and engage with the restaurant via social media (the day after) but got a stiff ignoring. There are better and cheaper options available.

I picked up a bbq pack from allesi last week. I've pretty much being doing Bbq's every night during lockdown but I genuinely never expected something quite as amazing as this. The pack is great value for money and I was licking my lips as I opened it up. I went weak at the knees when I saw the tandoori chicken and nearly fainted when I saw the girth of the kebabs!! This evening I decided to try the Alessi BBQ pack, mainly because I was hungry but also because I’m terribly bored in lockdown, I thought it may be a source of entertainment while satisfying my hunger.....Heavens above I was right, I’ve literally not had that much fun for the last 3 weeks! I had the BBQ pack delivered by the friendliest delivery driver, I think her name was Fatima or something, she was so friendly and totally adhered to social distancing regulations. She even slipped me a take away menu for future reference! Not having to worry about the food being hot on arrival has really helped with my current anxiety levels and I’m now feeling rather zen.Cooking the BBQ pack was so simple, I did it in the oven and not on the BBQ because Wilko had sold out of coals and I couldn’t really be arsed to light it anyway.... 30mins on 180c fan and I felt like I was on a night out up Audley on a bustling Saturday, unfortunately I wasn’t and I’m still isolated and haven’t seen anyone apart from Fatima since the 17th March. All of the food was amazing, I had fresh garlic roti with mine too....and what a taste sensation, second only to being at Alessi it’s self! I must thank you Alessi for making my evening, week and my month in fact!I’ll be ordering agin soon, not only just to see Fatima in her fiat 500 but to sample the finest Indian food in the whole of Staffordshire ❤️

The restaurant had to shut due to the government's Corona virus shut down so we ordered a takeaway.All the staff were working flat out to complete orders as they were extremely busy.We didn't mind waiting for our food at all, but it was ready we'll within a reasonable time, what's more, it was absolutely delicious, lovely succulent chicken, tender lamb, fresh fluffy rice and beautifully prepared fresh poppadoms, chutneys and naan.Thank you all at Alessi once again. We live nowhere near Audley but we make a special trip for Alessi as the curry is impeccable! The food is really tasty and you get good portion sizes for the price.Be wary of the old 'water for your table' trick as we did this once and realised it's bottled water and not tap water. Luckily we have learnt from our mistakes and now only ever ask for tap.Staff are well mannered and will aim to please.I'd recommend booking as a few times we have felt the place is packed out and not enough tables for walk ins however, I have heard they open the upstairs now. Also, try and not sit by the radiators as you can't turn them down!

I visited this resturant with my family, and found it to be incredibly up to standard. The food was impecable and the service was even better, the staff were helpful and friendly. Everything I expected and more

Myself and my family were completely disappointed with the meal at Alessi. With being a massive Indian food lover I had high expectations and unfortunately the food was awful. Myself and other members of my family couldn’t finish our meals. Probably the worst Indian food I’ve ate. The interior and restaurant itself was lovely and the staff were friendly. I would not return here to dine however I would have a drink in the cocktail bar.

Firstly, I never leave reviews and just put things down to life experience. But, on this occasion I feel I have to as I can’t believe how this place has gone from the best to the worst in 2 short weeks. The previous week I put it down to me ordering a different dish, but that theory was blown out of the water last night when receiving my normal order. I got my girlfriend to taste last weeks dish, and this weeks which was met with the same response “strong soapy taste and not edible”Two bad dishes is not a coincidence

The is the best curry house I have ever been to. staff great....meals were superb, the chicken was full of taste and tender. Can highly recommend, we will deffo be going again!! congratulations Alessii you are spot on with this restaurant.

What a breath of fresh air to see two young guys who are so helpful and so keen for everything to be good. The service was faultless from start to finish. The food was excellent with amazing mixed grill and lovely naga curry. The rice was fresh and even the popadoms were really nice (and the dips were great, especially the spicy one). This place is really good and the best Indian I have had for a while which is saying something when I eat out at least once per week. 10/10 guys, well done.

Really disappointed. We were going to a place at £14.95 a head but decided to pay a premium as we were promised champagne, 7 courses and activities.

We must say we have tried many curry houses in Stoke but this tops any we have had before. It’s very modern, clean, staff are lovely and most of all the food is delicious. It’s all so fresh and the flavours are all there. Not to mention how full you might be but just want to eat more. We will be going here more often even if it’s 16 miles out it is worth it.

This is by far the best Indian around. Food is cooked fresh and authentic..decor is clean and modern with service second to none..fantastic selection at the bar with great ales (unique indian pale ale) which sadly many other establishments dont do.. definitely recommend.

Visited after a while and the food and service was excellent. Warm and freindly service in clean modern surrondings. You can't fault the food plenty of it very well presented and the taste was exceptional. It's good to see that Alessi is back on track and delivering what it always did best. Having worked in India I found that Alessi food is the closest you can get to a real Indian . The restaurant is modern, very clean, with excellent staff to serve you with a fantastic choice of food

Stunning food in very acceptable surroundings. Excellent service as a bonus. What a benefit to the village. Maggie just loves the cocktails.

Myself and partner came here for an evening meal. We usually go to the curry house across the road but fancied a change. We were not disappointed! I had the salmon tikka sizzler which was outstanding and a generous portion of approx two fillets. My partner had a Paneer which was also a generous portion. The restaurant itself is clean and has a good flow of air con. The staff were very polite and helpful. I felt everything was reasonably priced and will definitely be returning in the near future.

We visited Alessi on a Thursday night with our friends. Lovely welcome when we arrived, exceptional service and attention to detail.

Just returned from a night out with my family The restaurant has a great welcoming feel about it and the decor is is tastefully done We were greeted by a nice warm welcome and the staff continued in this vain throughout the evening. At one stage my 6 year old grandson knocked his drink over and the staff were straight there with napkins to mop up. They even replaced his drink for free All this was just a back drop to great food. The menu provided a good varied choice including a good children’s menu all be it that the children do like Indian food A great night and a restaurant I would recommend

The third time we have ordered a takeaway. We sat at the bar and waited for it to be prepared and chatted to the bar staffand other customers who were also waiting (there is a lovely little seating area where you can wait. Last time Jake showed us through to the lounge area to wait, which is very nice.

It was mine and my husbands first time visiting last night. The food was absolutely amazing and very nicely presented. The staff were very friendly. This is now our favourite curry house! Thankyou

My family visited Saturday 15th June for my dads 75th birthday, my brother and his family had been before but it was my parents and I first visit it was fantastic food was amazing and great service nothing too much for the staff it was full and still ran so smoothly would definitely go again and already recommended

Dined for the first time and will definitely not be returning , went to see what all the hype is about and can clearly see this is not an “authentic “ restaurant. Very commercialised no flavour in the dishes and nan breads not a patch on royal Baltis which is situated across the road.

My first experience at Alessi was exquisite, and unforgettable. The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was outstanding, and the staff were polite. I came down with 6 other people, and neither of us had to wait long for our starters and mains to arrive. If anyone asks me for any recommendations for Indian restaurants, I'd definitely mention Alessi.

Being local, we have eaten here before, as usual the food was good and served well. We had not long given our order when a female vocalist appeared with guitarist and began to sing..... totally inappropriate for the venue..... had we known this we would have gone elsewhere. We couldn’t hear each other across the table very well, to add to the problem a table arrived with children who ran about and were noisy. It was like eating in McDonalds, in fact I have been in quiter McDonald’s! Come on Alessi, get a grip you are a quality Indian restaurant with quality food...... you need to smarten up your act, we can’t understand why you have let it slip so badly.

Went for early dinner at my favourite Indian restaurant Alessi. Service was 100% perfect and Kathryn’s staff are brilliant. Alessi food is world class.

Have visited the Alessi numerous times with friends, family and also work Christmas parties and the food has been spot on every time. Nice newly refurbished bar area upstairs which we got to sample. Just one thing let us down all the food had arrived then we had to wait 10

We live in Audley and visit Alessi often. The food has always been excellent and the restaurant is very well presented with pleasant staff. The experience is somewhat different than your typical "curry house" and is so much the better for it.

Has a family we visit this beautiful restaurant whenever we can all get together, usually birthdays, anniversaries Christmas etc... the Funky Buddha event is amazing and the New Years Eve event is definitely one not to be missed!!!

Alessia was the perfect location for family night out, the staff and service is amazing, very attentive. The restaurant was flawless and clean, beautifully decorated. The cocktail menu was vast and the quality of drinks and food was beyond wonderful. No wonder the atmosphere was buzzing! By far the best Indian I have ever tasted!

Me and my family have been going to Alessi for a few years now and it is by far the best place for a curry and drinks whether it’s celebrating birthdays or just when we’re craving an Alessi curry, always exeptional service and food! Brought my partner here this valentines who is not from staffordshire and he says it’s the best curry he’s ever had! Looking forward to going the summer ball here for my 21st!

Visited allessi after reading rave reviews online. Often with places like this, you find the expectation is too high and the meal is disappointing.

Came here for my birthday with all of my friends and family, the food was gorgeous and all of the staff made my day as special as i imagined. Highly recommended.

We are regulars to Alessi. The food is amazing and nothing is too much trouble. It is fresh and tasty. I’m a vegetarian and they have excellent choices for me, plus my husbands likes to work his way around the menu. My two step daughters are also always looked after when there. Go visit.

Came to the Alessi on Saturday we were booked in for 20:00 the restaurant was full and had a great atmosphere. We were quickly shown to our table, the service throughout the evening was amazing. We didn't find ourselves waiting around for anything. Whenever our drinks were low someone was over seconds after to ask if we would like another. Our waitress was really attentive and friendly, As were all the staff! The food was amazing and probabaly the best Indian meal we have had to date! Thanks guys for a fantastic evening.

We came to this fabulous restaurant on a busy Saturday night for my daughters 21st birthday, there were 22 of us and the service received was absolutely brilliant.

Visited Alessi on Friday and had an amazing night. Food was amazing and service was excellent too. You can definitely see the change the new general manager Moonie is brining to the restaurant and our server Lauren was great too, very attentive and seemed nice.

We have been coming to this restaurant for over 3 years for every occasion etc however the last few time we have been nothing but disappointed. First time they got the order wrong and I thought ok they get busy that why second time they got the order wrong again which made me think ok maybe it’s time for us to loo elsewhere but then again I thought I will give them another chance but then we did a delivery request and we waiting 1hr 45 min for our food to be delivered. Their response was your dinner is ready but we don’t have a driver. I was very very disappointed with the service given after even speaking to their manager. However can’t knock the chef as food is tasty but it’s poorly managed services, I personally don’t think they cope well under pressure when it’s busy.

Went a 21st birthday meal had the sami kebab and the chicken tikka sizzler foid was lovely and hot staff were great had wine and cobra highly recommend will definitely go again

Food was outstanding once again but the staff were useless I'm sorry to say. Ordering drinks and waiting upto 30 mins for them to arrive was just shocking!! We spoke to the manager who's attitude was 'Yeah right'. When paying the bill we found out that the card machine wasn't working so my friends had to go to a working cash machine, this would've been nice to know upon arrival. When speaking to the manager again about this, he snatched the money out of my friends hand and walked off!! Very rude man who clearly doesn't care what his customers have to say. If he hadn't have been so rude I wouldn't be writing this review!! We won't be dining here again!!!

Been using this restaurant for a while now. Telephoned for a delivery and advised we are too busy at the moment. No options given during the call and won't be using again due to disgusting customer service. By the way this was around 6:15pm

We thought we'd give this restaurant another try after poor service the last time. It seems nothing has changed., under staffed and under trained. Food good though when they got it right.

I visited Alessi in September for a quick family meal and was extremely impressed with the service. We were greeted by young man (unfortunately I’ve forgotten his name) who was very welcoming and attentive. He listened to our preferences and helped us to decide what would best suit our tastebuds. Overall great place to go if you’re after great food & customer service.

Recently visited the Alessi, its located in a lovely village of audley.

The Alessi has been going for quite a while now and has stiff competition from across the road, out of the 2 we prefer Alessi for service and choice. I had monkfish jalfrezi and my partner had tandoori king prawns, complimentary poppadoms to start. This place looks stylish has a cocktail list and the food is fantastic, keep it up

We have been to this restaurant a few times over the years and we have always enjoyed the evening but tonight it wasn’t the same we felt the Standard had dropped the food was ok but average. Unfortunately the Customer service tonight was poor and the attitude of the manager less than satisfactory when the card machine failed to work with the debit card, it kept saying “take the card out” we tried other cards but all failed, clearly a fault on the machine we have ample funds in the account. he made us feel like criminals to say the least so rude. I gave him the cash and left. There is no issues with the cards we went straight to the cash point. Very disappointing experience to be made to feel like that. We will not return.

Went with friends for a mid week evening meal. Friendly welcome to a modern restaurant. Very large selection on the menu. Good size portions. Worth a return visit.

This is a fabulous Indian restaurant. All needs catered for. Authentic food. Great atmosphere. Very reasonably priced; great portion sizes. Friendliest staff EVER!

This is our go-to place to order take-away from as a family when we’re in the mood for a curry. The service is very good, the staff offer you a pint if you’re waiting to pick up your order, they also add in little extras for ordering with it, it may be some poppadoms or some shredded chicken, it’s a really nice touch! I really like ordering food from here, it tastes amazing and their garlic naans are delicious.
