Bandon Arms in Shropshire

We were a large group of 12, pre ordered food, it came out very fast, all orders we correct and delicious, our servers Lewis and Sam gave such great service 10 out of 10!

Passed this pub many times and decided to eat here with family as halfway between our locations. Lots of parking and friendly greeting on arrival. In fact the stand out thing for me is how genuinely friendly and attentive all the staff were. I don’t get names but the lady and gentleman who served us food and drinks could not have been any nicer! I’m a vegetarian but plenty of options available and I had arancini (delicious) and a side of fries as wasn’t that hungry. The rest of my family really enjoyed their food too. There are obviously lots of locals visiting again and again as the staff seemed to know them which is a good sign of patrons returning to a popular pub. I hope Marstons recognise the value of the staff they have here, they work extremely hard and are an absolute credit to your company. One constructive comment on the pub itself would be a little bit of a facelift and update to the interior decor would be good.

We entered the Bandon Arms and waited to be seated. We were told we could only sit in a certain area as we had a dog with us. My Wife then went into detail you are not allowed to do that as it’s a guide Dog for the blind. The staff didn’t get it. Didn’t understand the law. A guide Dog is protected by law in many aspects of its work. A guide dog can go anywhere with one exception (hospital intensive care unit). You are not permitted by law to discriminate in any way. Telling a guide dog user, they can only sit in a certain location due to the assistance dog is discrimination. This is illegal. You would have expected in 2024, restaurant staff would be 100% up to speed with the law, they obviously are not. We left the venue and called the acting manager. Unfortunately, she was also not aware of the law. We need to take up our complaint with head office. As a blind lady, my wife is constantly reminded of her sight loss. It does upset her so much.

Visited The Brandon Arms and had an outstanding experience. The service was top-notch from Kim and Sam, friendly and attentive staff who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent—highlights included the steak 'n' ale pie and mixed grill. The cozy atmosphere added to the charm, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing with family and friends. Highly recommended!

I organised a meal at the Bandon Arms for a group of 23 friends, including vegans, vegetarians and people with other allergy / dietary requirements, on a weekend away in Shropshire. The Bandon Arms were happy to accommodate our large group, and gave us the choice of dining in the restaurant or bar area. We opted for the bar area as we wanted a more casual meal. The menu has plenty of options for all dietary requirements, and everyone in our group was able to find something they liked. Some of the dishes were better than others, but the general consensus was that the food was good and most cleared their plates. The staff were friendly and regularly checked on us to see if we needed more drinks. Due to the size of our group, we pre-ordered our food and asked if we could set up individual tabs to avoid having to split the bill at the end. The Bandon Arms happily accommodated this which made paying at the end very easy. Our only slight criticism is that service was quite slow even though we had pre-ordered. This wasn't an issue for us though as we were happy to have a relaxed evening and drinks between courses. Overall, we were very pleased and would happily recommend the Bandon Arms for larger groups.

I was served the worst caesar salad I have ever eaten. It consisted of wilted lettuce, chewy flavourless chicken (which tasted like it has been re- heated) and the smallest serving of dressing. The end result was horrible. I noted that the salad was missing the ‘garlic croutons and crispy bacon’, the kitchen then sent over a few overcooked croutons and pale, limb bacon (which I could not eat). This cost £16. The ‘truffle’ mac and cheese… was just pasta in a cheap cheese sauce with bits of meat thrown in. It looked worse than a student pasta made by a drunk fresher. For dessert I had the cherry and apple pie. The pie did not contain fresh cherries, instead the filling was made of tinned apples and cherry jelly??? The crumble was tasteless and appeared to be undercooked. Together, it tasted like baby food. The price for the food is high. However, every dish was tasteless. I would never return for food. As to how the pub has determined the pricing is unclear. Perhaps they should consider hiring a new chef…

Out of all the places I have visited this is the one for me...ive written a review before as I'm here most days the staff and managers ie Brian and Dani...what can I say about the staff...your treated like you've walked into their home...they have never been rude or disrespectful towards anyone that has walked through their door...ive read certain reviews all positive apart from one ...and you will always have the one that nothing is good enough...the reputation of the bandon arms is supported by its locals and thats proof in itself...it is a hidden gem and credit to the chefs that deliver amazing food... Table service by friendly staff. Sausage and mash with green beans and onion gravy, topped with streaky bacon, was really tasty. Good portion size and served nice and hot. A reasonable price too. Would definitely recommend

After an afternoon around Bridgnorth, my son and I called in for an early dinner and were seated and served promptly and politely. The food was hot and tasty with good portion sizes. The steak and ale pie was excellent. Will be returning with the rest of the family soon.

Great meal for a Christmas celebration with family. Service was attentive and friendly and the food was generous and tasty. Really pleased that the Christmas crackers were also plastic free, a nice consideration.

Met with family for lunch and we were thoroughly looked after from start to finish by the attentive staff. Thank you very much to these staff. Great atmosphere and lovely surroundings. We will definitely be visiting again in the near future.

We visited on a Wednesday evening, impromptu visit, didn’t book (don’t know if you can). Just moved to the area and wanted to try the local pubs. We had ere greeted by Sam upon entering who took us to a table (window table). The restaurant was quiet for the time of visiting (around 7:30pm) We ordered off the specials menu, pork and chicken duo’s - both presented fantastically well, tasted just as good. We stayed for dessert with Sam asking the chef for one from the lunch menu and not the evening to satisfy my partners request, loved the effort - nice job Sam. Overall, drinks were great, food was well priced and fantastic. Sam’s a credit to the pub, the chefs clearly are skilled. Pub looks bigger than the outside suggests and the ambiance was fantastic too Car park at rear of the pub for many cars.

Warm and welcoming staff from the start. Kim looked after us all night, was very attentive and friendly. Lovely food, quick service. All cooked well and enjoyable.

Just returned from an excellent meal at the Bandon. Friendly efficient staff , a varied menu ( mainly british ) and beautifully cooked. I would recommend this restaurant / pub to anyone looking for a good value meal in Bridgnorth. There is a big car park and you can book online. Look out for offers and special deals. We visited the Bandon arms on a SevernValley Railway trip to Bridgnorth. The welcome we received, the food and drink was absolutely first class. Our server was friendly, helpful and made our visit a real pleasure. Would definitely recommend and return.
