Great food & Great vibes. Came for lunch today and we had such a nice time. The food was wonderful good price and portions. Pub felt cosy and had loads of natural light which was lovely. Staff were friendly. Even went in the garden for a game of table tennis which was fun! Will definitely be coming back, got our eye on the dessert menu:) (Mixed grill & loaded chicken stack)

I’ve been going here with my family for longer than 5 years now and it’s always a brilliant experience. The food is always delicious and I don’t think any of us have ever had a bad dish. I’ve had a range of stuff over the years from the shashlicks, pakora, signature curries and traditional curries. The dhansak, naga, madras, bhuna, and saagwala are all delicious and perfectly spiced. The side dishes are always amazing too with the pilau rice and naans being perfect every time. The peshwari naan is particularly good so I would recommend that. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating, especially considering they have worked there for years. The prices of the food are quite good as well considering it’s one of the nicest placest for curry in Stourport. I would highly recommend a visit here for a beautiful curry and superb service.

Had a couple of meals from here recently and both were spot on. Highlight being the battered chips. Crispy yet fluffy in the middle, not greasy at all. Highly recommend. Only one thing I wish for is that you delivered but I understand the reasons against this.

Fantastic and very friendly a very lovely place

After not attending the local pub for the last 3weeks and returning this evening to have a beer with a friend I was greeted by an aggressive landlady demanding why I hadn’t been in for the last 3months and saying the last time I was there I stropped off. The last time I used the pub we were told to leave as the pub was shutting at 8pm because the landlady had no staff, why could she not work the bar herself? There were approx 10-12 other people in the pub all told to leave so went elsewhere to watch the darts final. A member o staff from Coca Cola was with me that evening and witnessed her behaviour. Demanding to know why I stropped off and not being in the pub wanted to know why I had appeared tonight. She said she did not want me in the pub so left after telling her some home truths. As usual the land lady was intoxicated downstairs after popping numerous tramadol tablets and drinking copious amounts of vodka and coke. If you ever appear at the bird in hand and the doors are locked and the lights are on, she has shut the pub but the cameras are on so if the area managers check or the brewery it seems as though the pub is empty but really the lazy landlady can’t be arsed to work herself once the paid staff leave. Previous reviews of unfriendly conversions from the landlady, refusal to cook food because she has b&b rooms to deal with and clean are all true and the bird in hand will continue to fall into disrepair, awful management and lack of customers because of the landlady’s behaviour.

What a fabulous welcome from Chris and Abby. The whole experience was fabulous. Great food in the cleanest of surroundings. You won't be disappointed with the food and selection of beers etc. 5* star rating is well deserved. Keep it up.

My son Paul married Carron at Hogarth yesterday. I want to express how happy we were with the venue. The staff were so professional, friendly and accommodating. Paul's Dad was in a wheelchair and the staff helped immediately with getting ramp and assisting. Food was fantastic I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding, as they made it truly memorable. Wonderful pub. Any Bathams pub is a banger but The Swan just about tops the Plough because of the beer garden in my humble opinion.

Extremely overpriced for such a dingy place the wall we were sat near had exposed plaster crumbling onto the floor and I can't stress enough the prices

Found this place via google search, we were in the area on our way home back to London. We had the local beer, pizza, chicken tenders and loaded fries. Great taste to everything, really good value for money. We would recommend to anyone passing through or camping on site to try it.
