Stopped here for a quick drink on our way home in the evening. The taxi services weren't reliable but the bar lady was fantastic and really helped us with numerous taxi numbers, all of which were unavailable but she suggested ordering an Uber cab instead. Can't thank her enough for her help. She even arranged it for me and then came outside to tell us our cab had arrived to make sure we didn't miss it. Fantastic help from her.

The proprietor of this establishment has no integrity. Be disgusted with your behaviour!!!!! Be warned!!! If you book this place for an event get a solicitor to draw a contract! These people crawl in life’s gutters! You can’t treat customers the way you have and have a successful happy healthy life. Low life scum!

My granddaughter booked her wedding reception in October months ago, leaving a deposit of £100. Ringing yesterday with a query she was told there was some confusion with diaries and her date had been given to someone else. No apology and would she like her deposit back! So now she has to find somewhere else. No way to run a business. She and her fiancee signed an agreement with the owner but of course it was in the missing diary and they have no copy. Disgusting behaviour mixed with incompetence.

Booked a wedding party here back in December 2023 for October 2024. Paid £100 and was told to come back in August to talk about food ect. Went in today and we have double booked the day and blamed us for not coming in sooner because they forgot they booked us, it was written in a diary which the pages we signed to confirm the date and deposit paid was ripped out. We got asked if we could push the day back a week which we couldn't. We were told the people who had the day had already sorted everything out and "I know them so I can't move them" Save yourself from sorrow and headaches and find somewhere else. Zero empathy, zero manners and zero brains.

If I could give them no stars I would. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR EVENTS !! They are rude and non empathetic to the fact they have ruined a wedding. Booked and paid deposit before new year's for October this year only go go in today which that has told us to come in for august to discuss food for them to have double booked us and then blame us. Owner didn't even apologies and lied to me saying we didn't write it down although clearly was ripped out the diary. And I hadn't attempted to contact although I have emailed several times but he said we should have come down which he had my number to contact me in the diary. But between work and my own ill health I personally couldn't keep trying to go up and down when they were open. Should have been a warning sign when we booked to view then venue and they told us they were closed even though we booked in. Horrid people !! See image of proof of me emailing them on there company email which is listed on their website.

I had my special big birthday party in the barn@the Bewdley Inn this weekend and it was amazing! Cathy was so helpful, the planning was easy and she made us feel so welcome. It’s a great venue for a function with its own bar and outside space too. The food was amazing, the overall service all night was excellent and we all had the best time, with @silentnoizeevents providing the silent disco! I can highly recommend both!

Called in Saturday to a great Irish Birthday bash where live Irish music was being played for Pat. He seemed very popular. Nice pub but would never stay there out of principle. The hotel group that own it changed the name a few years ago from Black Boy Inn after centuries and it had nothing to do with slaves or racism but a nickname used for Charles II. Small minded people strike again!

Chose this place as it popped up on fb and the set Mother’s Day menu looked good. Unfortunately didn’t live up to expectations, nightmare to find parking & had to squeeze in between a parked car and yellow lines. Not pubs fault. The seating we had felt like we were by a draft and it was right next to the waiters/ waitresses coming in and out the kitchen. My meal was good and portion size was fabulous, although my chicken thigh was not cooked, still pink/bloody and not very warm. My dad had beef and he had to ask for it to be reheated twice. My moms meal was just warm enough to eat. As if it had been left on hot plate to wait to be served. The cauliflower cheese was very nice. I did mention to the waitress about the issue and she apologised but I don’t think it was taken to management.

Food was dreadful - I had beef which was served nearly rare - I had to send it back - with Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes, both of which were hard. My partner had turkey which was hard and overcooked. She left most of it. We both had apple crumble afterwards which was apples stewed to within an inch of their lives topped with some burnt crumble. We both had a mouthful and left the rest. My partner rang to give them feedback and was told the food was cooked freshly yesterday, so we were served up reheated day old food. Avoid!

We hired The Barn at The Bewdley Inn for a family 60th Birthday Party, a fabulous room which caters for upto 100 guests with our own personal bar and personal outdoor space purely for our party. John ensured everything went smoothly for us and was an absolute pleasure to deal with, nothing was too much trouble. Everyone had a fantastic time with some guests also utilising the B&B that was also available. . . . A big thank you for making it the best party possible, a true 5⭐️ experience from beginning to end. . . . . Thank You

It seems John the landlord doesn't like people who are drunk, he just picks on people for being drunk, I have never caused any trouble in there yet drank in there on and off for 13 years. he blows hot and cold. Why be a landlord if you have a personality problem. He is has done wonders with this pub since he has been there I can't take that away from him. But he picks on good genuine people which makes him unlikeable. Shame really because even the locals have told me the same as.ive just described above.

We visited this place on Saturday 28.08 The staff didn't make us feel welcome at all compared to all the other pubs we visited in the area. Long story short it says on their website that the kitchen is open until 9pm. We arrived at around 8 hoping to get a meal and a few bottles of wine. The host was nice and showed us the free table we could take and we were told that someone will come take our order soon. So we waited and waited. All waitresses made eye contact with us but nobody came to take our order. After about 20 minutes I had to go myself and ask how we can order just to be told that we need to wait while the person that was meant to be serving us was just having a chat with another member of staff. When that member of staff finally came to take our order she was rude and made us feel like we don't belong there. We asked if the kitchen is open and we insisted that we're there to eat not just to drink. The person serving us said that she doesn't know and she would check, just to return with the wine that we wouldn't have taken if we knew that there is no food, and told us they closed the kitchen few hours ago. Surely if the kitchen was closed so long ago she would know, but no she didn't tell us and even when she served the wine she didn't say anything so we had to ask AGAIN. My advice to all people visiting the area is to go to one of the pubs up or down the road where kitchens close early too, but the staff is welcoming and pleasant to deal with. My question to the management of the Black Boy Inn is why don't they update their opening times on their website and treat their customers better ? I understand it was a busy night, but it takes 30 seconds to answer a question doesn't it ?

Really good, big, outside seating àrea, food was good too. The reason why we give it three stars is that the service was poor. There was enough staff but they didn't manage at all. Not sure if they had any training or know how table service works. We had to chase them for drinks and there seemed to be no system in place. Real shame because its a good venue and I think they could have made twice as much if they'd been organised.

Lovely location quiet and on the lovely canal with a very short walk to centre of town. Shared kitchenette allows for easy take-out or delivery meals and also plenty of restaurants nearby as well as simple pub food downstairs. Over a pub so some noise unavoidable on Friday and the weekend. Separate entrance with own key access at any time. Plentiful breakfast made to order by friendly hosts. Small rooms not really suited to business traveller but fine for holiday couples. Electric showers cut out due to low water pressure which was disappointing. Very convenient parking, although there was no guarantee of a spot when returning in the evenings.
