This place is an absolutely beautiful place. I went here a week ago for a meal and it was amazing. The food was just in a league of it's own. They don't offer a huge over crowded menu. They focus more on quality over quantity. Although it's not a huge menu it had an option for every one. The prices are about the same as your normal pub grub places the food is so much better here. The staff are really polite, welcoming and helpful. The look and feel of this place makes you believe you are in a more rustic countryside pub. They had a singer in the bar area ( Daniel James acoustic) who was absolutely fantastic. He wasn't to loud as to where you couldn't hold a conversation and set a really pleasant atmosphere. I have already recommended this place to people and will definitely be going back very soon.

We’re regulars at Spice Island, often picking up takeaways. Great guys, consistently good food. They excelled themselves tonight (on a special celebratory occasion for us too). Excellent, tasty piquant Achari Chicken & Tandoori Garlic Chilli Bahar. Tandoori roti was gorgeously soft, & mopped up the curry beautifully; and the garlic rice was chock full of garlic & fried onion. Thank you, once again. 😊 Ray & Claire.

This was a Sunday carvery delivery £24.50 total, dinner with 2 meats and 1 pudding. I’ve never had an issue in the past and after reading a bad review on here I still thought I would go by my past experiences and order as not well enough to cook. I really regret my decision. When it arrived the drivers said I owed them money and asked how was I going to pay. I was extremely embarrassed and confused as they had already called me 12pm to take payment and dinner was arriving 1.30pm. They however wouldn’t let me have my dinner til I showed proof of my payment on my banking app, as their receipt said “ no payment” They could see I then paid and still had to ring to confirm and then drove off saying “ it’s a good one today “ If this is good I would hate to think what was bad…. Missing Brocolli and peas and I paid £2.50 extra for the potatoes even though I asked for no cabbage and bacon. Half a Yorkshire pudding. Gravy was nice. Meat was dry. I will be completely honest, this dinner went to my dogs and I just ate the cheesecake. I sent a text and called Jade the manager straight away and she argued with me, was rude, refused any refund or even part refund and denied the situation even when I sent the same picture I’ve uploaded on here as soon as I opened the box. Very unprofessionally run. I would avoid

Heard a lot of good stuff about this place. It really didn't match up for us. Burger was under seasoned, very little relish and lettuce on mine which added to the overall blandness. My husband opted for jalapeños, no flavour very little heat. In fact he was so unimpressed, the dog ended up with his pattie. Chips nothing to write home about either, but at least they were seasoned. We'd rather use the golden arches in future, and that's saying something, only ever use them in an emergency. Sorry won't be back.

Arrived just before the booked time and ordered as soon as the server was ready. It was more than an hour before our food arrived, the staff choosing to serve, before us, a group that arrived well after us. The staff did say sorry (and then had a moan about his working hours) but no complimentary coffee or reduction off the bill was offered by way of apology. The food was okay. Shame, as it's our local and would put more custom their way if the service was acceptable.

The furnace kitchen is an amazing little café/ small restaurant with such high standards in terms of ingredients and adult food choice. Staff is very polite and professional. The only downside, but it can be improved very quickly, is the menu choice for under 5 or very picky over 5 y/o. Something simple like sausages or vegetables crudités could be a sensible alternative.

Usually our go to fish and chips but not anymore. Food was only just warm, had to reheat when we got home, portion sizes of the chips seemed to be a lot smaller than usual, we usual get a regular chips which is plenty for 2 adults 2 children but the regular chips was only enough for 2 children. Overall very disappointed only good this is that the fish batter wasn't greasy.
