Spice Island in Telford and Wrekin

We’re regulars at Spice Island, often picking up takeaways. Great guys, consistently good food. They excelled themselves tonight (on a special celebratory occasion for us too). Excellent, tasty piquant Achari Chicken & Tandoori Garlic Chilli Bahar. Tandoori roti was gorgeously soft, & mopped up the curry beautifully; and the garlic rice was chock full of garlic & fried onion. Thank you, once again. 😊 Ray & Claire.

Had my curry from here, very nice it was to. Got delivered very quickly came piping hot

First time of ordering from there it was terrible the chips were crinkle chips that had obviously been cooked hours before then re heated in microwave both the balti & tikka were cold with hardly any sauce a complete waste of money as it went into the bin . I don’t understand how the food was so cold when we only live 5 mins away & also it was delivered in a blue carrier bag what you get from the shop which I found strange will never use again

The best one in Newport. Shimla and taste of paradise were my go to Indians but i feel standards have slipped whilst spice Island has improved.

Usually get take away after a beer in the snug. But last two times its seemed a bit lacking in what and flavour.

We ordered madras and korma. The madras was OK but there were no vegetables, just pieces of meat in sauce. The korma was like flavoured wallpaper paste. Gloop, basically. It was chunks of meat in gloop, no veg or anything. The nan breads were OK. We won't be buying from there again.

This has to be the worst Indian in the whole of Telford had 3 meals Saturday 1 was Chicken Jalfrezzi (served on plate not in dish rice on smaller plate no heating plate in centre of table) asked where the peppers were and was told "somewhere in there" was Bland nothing like a Jalfrezzi also 3/4 can of coke £2.20 all 3 of us said the same we will stick to Shimla in future where the service is a lot better and food good (Was just a change Saturday to see hat it was like 1st and last)

On way home. Searched for curry house in Newport. Found this one. Read the reviews thought cant go to wrong. So popped in sat down ordered lovely friendly person. The food was amazing full of favour and just the right amount of food. Cant complain at all. Would highly recommend and definitely when in that area again will be returning.

What a fantastic hidden gem, found it by accident as I was travelling back from Telford and fancied a curry, I was not at all disappointed, a friendly welcome, it was lovely and clean, this brings me onto the food which was delicious, an lovely array of flavours with a good level of spice, the portion size was good, I highly recommend the food here, I will be returning.

Lovely old Skool style Indian meal with fabulous orange mint sauce and really tasty chicken tikka masala!

Food was not upto usual standards and only luke warm. Rice tasted strange. Binned mist of it.

Have loved this place for years - sadly not their finest day. Food was late and cold and there was coriander on the omelette when we had specifically asked for no herbs.

Absolutely delicious- only knocked a star off as it was a bit colder than previous deliveries from them, but still delicious as always! Prompt delivery, and the delivery driver was so friendly, polite and cheerful! 100% recommend! Thank you 😁

Very tasty 😋 Salad for starter was a bit shy and poppadom was smashed to pieces but was really hot when delivered and great tasting.

I was greeted with a friendly welcome and a large menu and the welcome smile didn't diminish when I asked for tap water. The first course, a sort of mixed warm salad, looked interesting and tasted very good. For my main course I'd chosen a lamb curry which arrived on a plate looking rather unappetising but nevertheless it was tasty and plentiful. I'd ordered garlic rice and tarka dhal to accompany it. A very enjoyable meal at a very reasonable price..

We were staying at Sambrook Manor cottages, when my father suggested a curry as a treat and what a treat it was! ....👍 😁

We ordered our meal to arrive 'as soon as possible' and were given an estimated time of 18:05. However, we were pleased when our order arrived at about 17:30 It was exactly what we order, hot and delicious!

The app promises better tracking that doesn’t exist. The only reason I know my order is late is because i chased it. The text update is just a staller tbh. Restaurant not much help because the update is that the driver is just leaving. It is promising that they refer to me as boss, I will bear it in mind if I lose my job.

Food delivery was 45 minutes late and the food was cold. We had to reheat in the microwave to make it palatable. We have never had a late/cold meal from them before but your only good as your last delivery.

Had to ring up to find out that it was going to be an hour late. Didn't get an apology, just told "you've got to give us time". Meal hasn't arrived yet, but I've bought from them before and it was good. However, they were late on those occasions too. Sorry, I can't continue to buy from here unless they give a realistic time estimate.

Great food, I would order from here again. In my case, Delivery was slow because they were busier than expected. once they had explained the situation, it was fine.

Although food was late delivery guy was apologetic, food was piping hot and tasted good. Not terribly late during a national lockdown have waited much much longer at other takeaways and must be very busy and working hard still receiving good quality food.

Almost 2 hour for delivery! Rang after 1hr 25mins and they advised they were waiting for a driver. He turned up 30 mins later. Terrible delivery service.

Really late. When we rang them they said it was on their way but it was another 15 minutes before it came. Food was great though.

Beautiful food but disappointed in the hour wait and the error in the order.. asked for a Keema and garlic naan.. got 2 plain. So hungry we ate them anyway. Asked for some money off and refused.

Superlative food and service! Massive portions, the meat to curry ratio was perfect! Very tasty meal, THE best "cheesy keema" naan bread I've ever had hands down! Highly recommended! The best Indian restaurant in Newport, far better than the others I've tried. Order arrived about 10mins early too, which was perfect!
