Indian food was full of flavour, very tasty, shame it was very quiet but we didn’t mind as we had been to 3 places it was so full or they stopped doing food as they were doing a hog roast from 2 pubs. Would come again, plus it didn’t need to be booked. I don’t understand why it wasn’t busy

Amazing first experience, the service was excellent, the food was lovely, chicken tikka and jalfrezi specifically. Lots of parking available and easy to find. The restaurant is nicely decorated and it was a pleasant atmosphere. Would highly recommend to any one looking for a great Indian restaurant.

Very welcoming and great food, mixed grill in the picture, was on form! definitely will order again, naan bread was crispy, very fresh. You must order onion bargies they are the best I've ever had. Chef was on fire tonight.

Good Indian meals with average prices

Food was okay not flavourful and oily only gave 1 popadom and portion was small

the Balti was meant to be a special one with the price they charged, it was very oily and hardly any chicken 🍗, nothing special.

As a member of a team of women and men who used to work together many years ago we formed a curry club to visit the various curry house's in the West Midlands. We have been to the bad, average, good and very good, however the Blue Elephant is one of the best we have visited. The restaurant was very well decorated and clean, the waiters knew their trade, being available when needed but not intrusive. Best of all the food was excellent, all 6 of us agreed the meals we had ordered were of a high standard and very well presented. The Blue Elephant is definitely in the top 2 of all the restaurants we have visited, we all very highly recommend the Blue Elephant to all curry lovers.

We ordered popadom, chicken samosa, prawn balti, lamb shanks bhuna... ,we were very satisfied with the service and food. I will come back again.

Normally order from here as a take out. Chicken Biryani as I don't like strong spices. Always bin the sauce. Ordered tonight, choose option for curry sauce as can use it for hubby on another meal...Tonight the biryani is burning my mouth off & I haven't even tried any of the curry itself. What a waste of money.

There was food missing from the order

We visited on Christmas Day, and I was a little disappointed because when you have paid £270 for 6 of you, you do not expect to be charged an extra £10.50 for 6 poppadoms to which we actually never ordered , they were just put on the table so we assumed were complimentary. Then we found when it came to the puddings even though we had pre ordered only one was available out of our choices !! we ended up with different flavours of ice cream. And we had to laugh only 3 crackers to pull between 6 of us. Main course I can't fault was lovely. I'll keep to using the blue elephant as an occasional Saturday treat not for a special day unfortunately

2nd visit and tbh, hard to say we will be returning, as per previous review, when only downfall was length of time we waited last night it was taken to a new level, yes it was busy but I’ve seen busier and there was again plenty of staff (although maybe not in the kitchen !!) After being moved to a different table our starters took well over an hour, with the mains being a further 70 minutes after that !! We had to ask for our food on several occasions and whilst there was a lot of waiters walking about there was just no food coming out of kitchen, we wasn’t only family to complain, then the table that sat after us got there’s before us ! No apology from the owner which makes sense as when we complained to a waiter he was very straight forward to where he thought blame lay !! Food was nice, but taste tainted by how frustrating evening turned out. We shall see if we attempt here again.

Told would take 25mins and ended up waiting for nearly 50 mins. They were very sorry and gave me a free drink. But when I got home, the rice was missing from the order. Not the best.

Absolutely woeful. 3 hours to serve 4 starters and 12 mains. My drink was wrong 3/3 times. Bland, lukewarm food. To top it off a 20 min wait for the bill with the guy arguing with us and hovering (then rudely stomping off) whilst we were working out quite why it came to over £300. Almost 2 quid per poppadom didnt help id wager. Avoid like the plague. Google wont let me give 0 stars.

Papadums and accompaniments were great. Good variety of sauces to choose from, and of course curry too. Excellent service. Large parking lot. My only complaints, disappointments really, were they don’t have mango lassi nor Indian deserts on the daily menu. But both those things may be more common in the States.

My partner, Kay, collected a takeaway on Monday. We had the usual poppadoms etc. 3 different curries. Masala chips and a few extra sides. This is regular takeaway for an Indian meal and it never disappoints. Very quick service, with well dressed, professional staff, that will even bring your takeaway to your vehicle . I can't recommend them enough. Absolutely delighted with our takeout.

Food was over an hour past original time slot. When it arrived it was cold. Couldn’t get hold of restaurant on phone. Kept coming up with call failed.

Tried for the 1st time here and did not disappoint, normally got go for the same thing every time I have a Indian but thought we try something different the honey mint lamb aloo was very tasty and the blue elephant rice was somthing different all round, will definitely be going for a sit down meal at some point in the near future, great service all round privet was good too 5 star keep up the good work guys. Food was perfect, staff were friendly and professional. I think the building itself was under some slight renovations, but that didn't harm the experience. The whole thing was flawless. Will be using this place again.

Ordered food for ASAP delivery, after waiting for over two hours I called the restaurant and told them to cancel the order. Delivery arrived around 2 hours 15 minutes after I ordered but refused the delivery. The quality of food has always been good but I won’t be using Blue Elephant again, there’s dozens of other restaurants in and around Wellington.

Disappointed to now have to pay for salad with the starter. The salad wasn’t fresh. No dip / sauce. If that needs to be paid for too it should state that.

Had the Chicken Korma, it really was delicious, I usually eat in, but full of cold, so thought I’d order for delivery, delivery was before the estimated time,and the food as usual was top quality, packaged well, and hot. Thank you 😊

We've used this restaurant for the last 10 years, the food and service has always been excellent, however tonight was extremely disappointing, we ordered a meal for delivery, it took an hour and a half to be delivered ( we literally live a 5 minute walk from it) the starters were cold and the main course was far from the quality and flavour it's always been in the past. My husbands dish was very bland and my tikka masala was too spicy! I don't know what happened, but I'm kind of put off ordering again, so very disappointed!

Poor quality food. Greasy, oily. Keema Naan had no minced lamb inside! New to the area so doing the rounds on curry houses - won't be back to this one. Very disappointed.

Worst Indian I’ve ever been to, service was the worst I’ve ever experienced, ordered drinks and the pop came warm, ordered a chicken and king prawn curry mixed and only got 1 king prawn, but after I raised this issue up with them they told me they only put one in for all there mixed curry’s which I know was a lie and never would of ordered if was told earlier about it, curry was extremely spicy to the point I at to leave the curry as it was uneatable I raised this up with them also and they began to be very aggressive 5 of them came over shouting in my wife’s face, they still tried charging me extra for only 1 prawn in the curry, toilets were very filthy, please give this place a pass it’s always empty for a reason, and outside is a mess.

Great food at great prices. Been here a couple of times and not had one bad experience so far. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They have carling and cobra on tap, could do with a little more choice. The staff are not to the level where you feel you are being bothered all the time which is good. The food is always good and never any complaints from us .

We decided to order from here based on the reviews; however, The lamb mint honey curry was vile the consistency was congealed, jelly like and meat tasted off - safe to say it went straight into the bin. Other mains were flavourless and after the first we were put off even trying the others. After spending £35 we were also missing the free item advertised on promotion. Frankly will not be ordering from or recommending to anyone after this meal - hugely disappointing! Very expensive disaster to say the least, my advice is do not order from here

The ambience, seating, service etc were good but the food wasn't that good, unfortunately. Portion size was ok but taste was the issue. Tarka daal tasted plain, didnt feel like there was any tarka in it.

The food was very bad and the quantity was also less. Service is not prompt. Overall the restaurant experience is a huge waste of money and time

The curry was to spicy for me to eat and ruined my meal and my evening. So want a refund please.

First time we have had a take a way fro the blue elephant and We can honestly say we were astonished at the meal we both enjoyed and being handed the food by a very well dressed and curtesy’s young man … Defo use again … thank you .. Not a bad mixed grill but not the best one I’ve ever had. Bit to much liquid for my liking. Tasted nice though
