The best restaurants in Staffordshire Moorlands West Midlands

We ordered a vegetarian meal for 2 on the app it was ready on time and it's been one of the nicest Indian meals we've had, we would definitely go back there again.

Looking for somewhere for a Sunday lunch and this came up as a recommendation from a friend. I can see why it has so many amazing reviews, you can really tell the chef has a high standard of that “if the chef wouldn’t eat it, why would you serve it to customers” We went as a family, the daughter being a vegetarian, and my 84 year old mother in law, myself and husband. Service with a smile, very friendly and accommodating. My daughter chose the vegetarian lasagna with the remainder opting for the Sunday lunch, a small one, which was fabulous for a smaller appetite, and two regular, which was roast beef and gammon, we chose to have a mixture of the two. The lasagna was amazing, very tasty and full of decent sized veggies. Our Sunday lunch was beautiful which had a great selection of what I call proper vegetables, cooked just right, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, peas, carrots and a roast parsnip with lovely roasties and mash and a Yorkshire pudding, I may add that I’m a gravy swiller for which there was ample for my needs. I dont know how we managed a pudding but the selection was good and were tempted by the apple pie, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate fudge cake. They were all delicious but the piece de resistance was the apple pie, in all his years, my hubby said that he’d not had a better apple pie anywhere, and he’s had a few around the world. Will definitely return as the whole meal was super delicious, very hearty and such a great price. Thanks so much for your fantastic food

The food was lovely, the service was shocking. Booked for 6.30 pm Saturday night. Took 15 minutes to be asked if we wanted drinks. A further 10 minutes to place our food order. The starter arrived, and we still hadn't received our drinks. A further 30 minutes for our mains to arrive. No one checked on our table. 7.45pm we asked to see the dessert menu. 8.00pm we gave up and asked for our bill at the bar.

1) The cheeks to charge for WATER! 2) Carvery supposedly starts at 12, we came in at 12 and had to wait until a table of 10 got their food before us. We ended up waiting until 13:20 to get our food. Pub clearly isn't run correctly. Not to mention we got the smallest amount of meat on our carveries. Not coming here for a family meal again. *Edit* response to owner's comment: 1) you have to let your customers know you are charging for water OR give them the choice of free tap water. Common sense. 2) we came at 12... the food should have been ready at 12 not 1. And no, you were not in the process of topping the veg up because no one had had their carveries until 1. I am a regular at this pub and I enjoy coming here but today I was disappointed. Especially after hearing that the staff member who served me was bad mouthing about me to customers sat at the bar.

Had the best gammon steak I’ve ever eaten and ay my age with the amount of travelling I’ve done that’s saying something, fantastic family atmosphere and John is a great host, thoroughly recommended

We stopped in our motorhome here and was given a friendly welcome. The pub has a lovely ambiance and is definitely worth a visit.

I’ve just had the worst chippy tea that I’ve ever had we had a meal for 6 people so had a variation of food. Everything we had was over done the chips were rock hard and some black and just un edible a lot of waste for the brown bin this will be the last time I over spend my money here.

A brilliant service from Biddulph family pizza ! We pre ordered a large order for NYE, they were so friendly on the phone and even threw in a free pizza! He reconfirmed on the day there were no changes to the order and arrived on time with perfect pizzas! Would definitely recommend. Thank you so much x

After watching Leek and Hyde play out a 1-1 draw in what can only be described as atrocious conditions, it was the thought of a kebab that kept us going. This is a really decent place - had a donner kebab on naan and chicken tikka on naan. Both really fresh and tasty and certainly hit the spot. Thanks very much 👍

The food here is great, however I would definitely not recommend trying to order via the foodhub/any other app. I've tried this multiple times over the last 6ish months and every time the order is rejected approx 20-25mins after you place it. If you want to get food from here you need to physically go there (it is worth it!).
