My wife and I had fish cake and chips and steak pudding, chips and gravy respectively. We’ve used Werrington Fish and Chips for years, but I feel compelled to write this review. I ate my pudding and my wife ate her fish cake and a couple of chips. The chips were absolutely horrible. I’ve never seen such dry and overdone chips. If I said cardboard, I’d be doing cardboard a disservice. It cost £12 and feel that I might as well have thrown my money down the grid. We’ve always had great chips from here, but the last two times, it’s been really bad. Sadly, we won’t be using our local chippy again☹️

Food was great, but the way I’ve just heard Steve the owner speaking to his new member of staff because she was struggling with the till was disgusting and shouldn’t be allowed in the modern workplace.

Food is nice which is the main thing but you're always on there for 10-15 minutes. Staff look busy doing delivery orders a d when you get near the front it's another 7-10 minute wait for chips, it's almost like they don't expect to be busy on a Friday or Saturday evening . They do the best but as I say....it's just the wait ...every time, which is the main reason we don't go more often.

I ordered fish chips and mushy peas from ash bank fish bar for the first time I must say the fish was gorgeous the chips were proper chips and mushy peas were proper chip shop style the fish was so big and tasty batter when the food came is was hot which I like I would recommed this chippy to anyone I shall b ordering again defo in the near future that’s why I’ve given them a five star rating and I’m so fusy with my food lol well done guys oh and I ate the lot nothing left on my plate requards Dazzla and Joanne from Hanley duck

Went last weekend first time for a while the food was alright just the price we had fishcake chips and curry sauce x2 and 1x fish and chips and it was just short of £24 it will be a long time before we go again ripoff.

Ash Bank chipshop does the nicest fish and chips mushy peas and curry sauce I have had in Stoke on trent and the food is always red hot still when I get it home would recommend this chippy.

Been coming this place for the last 10 years and everytime the food is top class! Would recommend this place massive to anybody who lives locally!

£4.70 for a "Large chips" that was the size of a regular anywhere else. A mini fish for £3.90 that was a tiny tube of fish inside a load of batter. On top of that the food was poor. Greedy owners making excuses for massive price hikes not proportionate with what's going on.

As they open at 4.30 and I arrived at 4.45pm I expected nice fresh cooked food. The chips were awful I think they may have been from the day before. We haven't had fish and chips for a long time so very disappointed. The fish was lovely. Definitely won't visit again

Have been a customer for over 20 years. Have put up with poor service and bad attitude from the owners for a long time, but as it’s convenient I’ve made do. Since they started online I’ve been doing click and collect as it’s better than having to wait in the shop that makes you feel they don’t want the custom. It’s ok at best - set your time and you normally have to wait 5/10 mins, but ordered tonight and the website offered 20.45 collect time. Bonus. Little one is playing a game I could make it! Order placed and money taken swiftly. 10 minutes later get a phone call to say we’re shutting at half 8 you’ll have to come then. Explained that the earliest I could get there was 8.40pm. She went to speak to the male owner who loudly said tough he would be gone. Lady came back on the phone and said sorry but they would be closed when I get there, with a tough attitude. So I asked for a refund. Sorry we don’t do refunds, you’ll have to come collect the cash. Ok I said. I’ll be there at 8.40pm. We’ll be gone she said. So I asked to speak to the owner who decided to shout down the phone at me, stating he’d been there since 8am and wasn’t working for nothing, and I would have to come back another day for the cash. I said I’m only this way on a Monday and it will be same time next week. We’ll be gone he said. I explained that he wasn’t allowed to take online payments and not offer a refund. His reply was I should have checked his opening times before ordering! Erm your website told me I could collect at 8.45pm I gave up, got my car keys and went to collect the cash. He then continued to forget I was a loyal customer and screamed at me again whilst in the shop. I explained you can’t take online orders and not be able to do refunds. It’s against the rules. He told me to leave the shop. Gladly. Avoid at all costs if you would like to be treated fairly, respectfully and not screamed at.

What's the benefit of having a timed collection app when you turn up for after the collection time and you still have to wait for it ?. Fish is overpriced for the size and quality.

Brill service easy to use website for ordering

The food was absolutely great and the staff really friendly, however I stood in the shop 2nd in the queue for 23 mins without anyone in the shop being served while they prepared pre ordered meals to be sent out for deliveries ( which also left only a couple of cooked items to choose from once we were served). Maybe they ought to have one side consistently serving the customers in the shop and one side preparing pre orders for the delivery drivers, that way neither side would come to a grinding halt.

Nice Fish n Chips and good hearty portions. Wonderfully lovely people, friendly and helpful. I'd Click and Collect since Social distancing allows only 3 in the shop at 1 go, which is good; just means you stand outside in the current climate unless you're there to collect!

We drive from Burslem area to this chippy, they take card, There is parking and as yet I've not had any bad experience, they seem very consistent with the quality of the snapping, they also have a decent covid distancing system and collection area in place.

Pot luck as to whether you get good service or a miserable experience. Staff need help with their customer service skills, so unbelievably slow. Which isn't good when you are waiting in the rain. No quicker if you order on-line, which we had done. You expect the food to be ready at the agreed time surely? Be lovely just to have a 'welcome'. Food, not much better. We had a kebab which was cold and full of hard meat end cuts plus a fish and chips which, was soggy and at best warm. We do use the shop every now and then and if you time it lucky when the chips are fresh the meal can be excellent. Won't be hurrying back any time soon.

Food is always first class and staff are so friendly, having travelled all over the uk, its definitely one of the best in the country.

Just had a lovely fish and chips from here and was really enjoying them until I found a long dark hair in it! I'm not dark and my husband tells me the woman who served him had long dark hair. Put me straight off my tea.

Fish portion compared to my other chip shop are v small and costly.

Great food a bit expensive but worth it although the fish is nice some of the sizes are a joke I mean they have a tiny. Small. Medium.large.and I'm pretty sure also a extra large. The small fish is like a goldfish and not a koi . More like a Nemo size apart from all the silly sizes of fish I love this fish and chips place

Very slow service, but nice food.

After ordering and trying to pay with card told there is a minimum spend of £8. Big sign on the wall that says "we now exept cards" And tiny one saying £8 that I didnt see until pointed out. You exept cards or you don't. Walked out hungry as I'm not spending another £2 just to pay on a card. Local chip shop just lost a customet

If you like quality fish, this is the right place to visit,hmmm...plus few sweet mushrooms, beautiful with turner's road Chardonnay,is crripsy and amazing meal, just take fish and chips home as it came out from deep fryer, then spreed over one or two lemon's plus balsamic vinegar on homemade chips, ok nothing else better than that. It's simply good Chef. Enjoy your fish.

An excellent fish n chip shop with a good range including curry and kebabs.

Just had a mixed kebab if that is what you call it there was 4 pieces of Donna meat that was hard and dry not much more chicken I really can't believe there is any portion control in place I came about 3 months ago and had a bad one then but I just out it down to a bad night thought I would give benefit of dought but I was wrong to it was absolutely disgusting wasn't enough there to feed a child

Food is lovely. I can personally recommend the Mediterranean chicken kebab. The place is really clean and well presented. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is off-road parking and if you want a drink to go with your takeaway bargain booze is just next door. The only downside that I can see as you do have to wait. I don't know if they have a click and collect service but they should.

Only given a star to post but they definitely don’t deserve it for being Highly Overpriced and very small portions. When challenged over the portion the owner decides he’s snatching back the food and saying he don’t want to serve me!! Rude,arrogant,overpriced and would definitely NOT go here if you are hungry!!

Just nipped around to get some chips at 10:05pm, the lady said that they had just binned all of the food. The opening times states that it closes at 10:30. Pretty bad, close at 10 if you are going to bone the food 5 minutes later!

Best chippy in stoke on Trent .queuing out the door says it all never dissatisfied.

I asked for ketchup and then they put it on and it is coved it was all sogy but normal is 👌 ok
