Come to the gardeners arms if you want to get accused of being a drug dealer, just a cause someone else from your group may have been in the toilets at the same time as you. Honestly the owners are a joke. The land lady was very drunk and accused a group of 10-15 lads of all being junkies/drug dealers cause more than 1 of them went to the toilets at half time during England match. 😂😂😂 Seriously you couldn’t make it up.

This pub is beautiful and the staff are great. Service with a smile. Today we spent a few hours in the huge beer garden. Fully equipped with a children’s play area and free bouncy castle. There is an outside bbq area and the food was amazing. The chilli and cheese loaded chips were yummy! Highly recommended.

We booked The Gardeners Arms for my mum’s wake following the service at the Crem. They did us proud the buffet was fabulous and everything was home made including the roast meat on the sandwiches even the coleslaw was homemade and delicious. We’re definitely going back to try their other food and I’m sure if it’s anything like their buffet’s it will all be delicious. Thanks so much for your help and support at this difficult time

Popped in for Sunday roast and I wasn’t disappointed. I’ve been here quite a few times with family and friends and all I can say is, superb. What is outstanding about this pub, is the standard of food, which is very high and it never changes! Always hot, always tasty and a great atmosphere. Log fire in the colder months and cheerful locals ready for a chat or some banter. In the summer they have a huge garden and do food throughout the day, consisting of burgers, pizzas and loaded fries. It’s a must try if you’re in the area.

Good Friday visit ,2023 telephone booking details were taken , arrived at the time specified with a non family guest from the USA, she was delighted with the banter from the landlord and even more with the fish and chips with the usual accompaniments. superb meal and service, all in all a very pleasant evening

Boy oh boy has this place really made its mark , visited when the new owners took over and I was a little bit critical , however they have now lifted the pub to a new level, superb food great service and atmosphere, form both the landlord and landlady , we go fairly regularly now and have yet to be disappointed, long may it continue

We went for a drink at the ‘family friendly’ Gardeners arms. During our time there the landlord tried to turn sim outdoor fairy lights on. They didn’t appear to work so after connecting g them and disconnecting them to a extension cable, he shouted ‘oh f**k this and threw the cable. This was on a beer garden with several families with young children around, including ours!! If you can’t control your temper, or use civilised language, you shouldn’t work with the public!

New owners after Jon and his wife, went to try it fish and chips expensive and not as nice as before , will give it one more try when the new chef is there but £10-95 for a plate of fish and chips with mushy peas no lemon slice no tartare sauce too expensive .

The pub now has entertainment and a friendly atmosphere The food is excellent and Sheree, Jon & the rest of the staff are always very welcoming. I attended here for a wake. Upon arrival the female and male staff member (who I've now been made aware that they are the landlords) were not welcoming-they looked Moody, didn't engage in any convocation, not approachable, sharp & disrespectful. The land lord looked scruffy & also grumpy looking. I've been to many wakes at other venues & the staff have always been welcoming, empathy,interacive-as it's a difficult day plus it's professional & respectful. No one got this there! Many of the guests commented on the owners behaviour & talked about how they were being treated. We had a buffet & hot drinks-paying customers on such an important day & we are disgusted. The food was ok-nothing special & the chicken nuggets had very little chicken in & they were rubbery & hard to eat.The pizzas had more base than topping. The egg mayo slices were nice. The hot water dispenser was hard to use for the elderly as you had to push down hard,it was leaking all over the table cloth (boiling water-health & safety & children were there, we put a cup under it,we had to put the sugar wrappers loose on the table as no pot or bin was provided which looked unsightly after 25 people had a hot drink. The tea bags were cheap ones-the pale think rectangle ones that are really cheap & weak.By 3.30pm the landlady wanted to pack all of the remaining food away-we asked for it to be left so we can nibble at it as time went on-we knew it needed be away by 4.30pm so she could get the room ready for 5pm for any diners, she clearly wasn't happy about this.It was as if we were not good enough for their pub. Not only was a buffet paid for, drinks were also being brought from behind the bar-customers are what keeps their business open. We shared memories of our loved one who we lost & laughed at some of the memories-we got stared at by the land lady, she would roll her eyes, arms folded. It's not like we are rough people either,we were there to celebrate our loved one.We had a diverse age range (1-80+ years) & most felt the atmosphere coming from the lady lady inparticular. The land lord didn't speak, he stomped through the room to take his dog out for a wee in the garden of the pub, huffed when the dog attracted the attention of the smaller children-1 was scared of dogs. We didn't know a dog would of been brought through.A young well behaved boy was doing some sort of dance-i think I heard him say it was the floss? He was learning some of the adults to do it, the landlady just stared at him arms folded-kids are quite straight talking & I over heard him being concerned that he was being stared at & wondered why,so he stopped his dance. When glasses & paper plates were collected they would just come over quote boldly & pick up the items & coldly say 'finished with?' Or 'these done?' how very rude! And they actually took a few drinks away that were brought that were not finished with-we would find this outonce we had come back from the ladies/gents. We didn't stay until everyone left & I have to say what disrespect took place from the owners & they should be ashamed of themselves. I for one will never step foot in there again & I know some of the others said the same. One comment from a regular said 'arrr just ignore them, it's how they are'. That in it's self says it all.

Go there weekly and have amazing quality of food. My favourite is the hot beef and onion baguette with chips. Can't argue with the price either. Great atmosphere, gorgeous food at a fantastic price. I shall continue visiting this place and enjoying a lovely meal in good company.

Had a few meals here now, always good and very reasonably priced. Bar staff friendly and helpful. Taken kids previously and they enjoyed the outdoor play Area. Only minuses were the number of people drinking at the bar made it very difficult to get to the bar to order food and drink and no car park though plenty of space on the road.

This is a nice local pub, Good honest food is available and the service is with a smile, my scampi was cooked perfect and the price is very good, it would be nice if there was an option of a nice mug of tea instead of little cups, I will come again. Thanks

Went up on Monday 6pm.... myself, my wife & the 2 dogs. Roaring fire, very cozy. Danny was very welcoming & attentive. Beer was great and the food a delight. Been using this pub on and off for many years & seen a few changes of Landlord & Staff. This is one of the best so far. Highly recommended and will definitely be going again.
