Decided to sample a good portion of popular items from the menu: Salt and Chilli Chips, Chicken and Ribs, Duck in Black Pepper Sauce, Hot and Sour Soup, Chow Mein, Egg Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Sauce and some free Vegetable Spring Rolls thrown in. Salt and Chilli flavour wasn't necessarily what I was used to from other takeaways, however was fairly flavourful especially on the ribs, which were enjoyable. The quality of the chicken pieces seemed poor - they were fairly dry to the point that even the Sweet and Sour sauce couldn't save them. Chow Mein noodles were a little too soft but otherwise what you would expect. Hot and Sour Soup tasted like Sweet and Sour sauce I missed the other flavours I would usually associate with this soup, no vinegar or umami notes made it through the sweetness. While not unpleasant, the soup lacked depth. Black Pepper sauce flavours were strong, punchy pepper balanced with a slight sweetness, a spot-on consistency and selection of vegetables, I especially enjoyed the inclusion of water chestnut and mushroom for added texture. This was paired with a well-seasoned Egg Fried Rice. Overall, not a bad Chinese takeaway, but there are better options five minutes up the road in Cheadle.

Loved the food!! I had Mediterranean soup to start. Then the belly pork. Very generous with a beautiful rich gravy sauce. Thoroughly enjoyed. All my pals enjoyed their meals too. The restaurant is small and noisy but the service was very good and friendly. Free parking. Lacks network service. Highly recommended. Definitely would come again.

We recently stumbled across this gem of a pub midway through a circular walk from Longnor. It’s only just re-opened after some ownership changes. If Ant & Syd can deliver the plans they’re hoping for then this place is going straight to the top of my favourite pubs list. It’s already up there. How the lads manage to renovate whilst maintaining this old building’s authenticity will be a challenge. With plans for an adjacent camping field this place is almost too good to be true and while they work on their project anyone who loves a good old (literally) fashioned pub with good ale should support it. We will be.

We recently visited with our granddaughter during the half-term holiday. There is a children's menu which was good and she really enjoyed the garlic bread starter and the pasta she had for her main course. Our food was also of a high standard, my wife had a rib eye and I had the lamb rump both of which were cooked to our satisfaction We were looked after by Charlotte, who was so lovely and helpful, I can't sing her praises enough It was a lovely evening and not to expensive

Followed the good reviews on the basis biddulph chinese was closed for new year which would have been my fist choice. Wont be back. Food tasted like mould. Salt and lack of chill.prawns. Mouldy tasting velveted chicken and beef in the chow mein. Tom yum duck was nice but i lacked trust in it given the other dishes in order.
