Had a takeaway delivered with a smile to Wood Farm camp site Great Gate. Highly recommend - food was delicious and piping hot. I will definitely use this place again .

takeaway tai green curry was so salty i couldn't eat it :( the salt was in the sauce rather than the rice that I ordered with it

Terrible customer service. They try to answer the phone to multiple people at the same time. Often leaving you waiting on the phone half way though the order. You can hear the other people ordering which is rude

Terrible customer service. Whilst call my order through I heard the other phone ring the same person answered the other phone and half way through my order stop speaking and started to take another order. This was very rude

I ordered chicken with spring onions and ginger. There was very little, if any ginger and only great big pieces of onions. See the picture and I had eaten half of the onions. No, bulking up with cooking onions is not good. I won't be going back. I have a photograph but I can't insert it!

Always order from here never lets me down but this time! Opened bag of chips put on plate and spider came out ! Won't order again ,only got half of refund even tho none of the food had been eaten

Best Chinese Takeaway in the Area, We stopped at the Alton Towers Resort and its not to far away, The Food is alway cooked fresh and consistent every time we have visited.

Following a few visits this is becoming a trusted Chinese for me. Ordering over the phone was quick and effecient, we then paid by card on arrival and food was presented promptly. Matching flavourful sauces, tender pieces of meat and specific vegetables/additions cut to a size that allows variation with every bite is a winning combination that shows off their ability to craft a solid main meal. Photo shows Chicken Szechuan, Egg Fried Rice and Spare Ribs. Came together into a solid and fulfilling meal. With heat from the Szechuan sauce pairing with freshness from a combination of peppers and bamboo shoot. But having tried a few things from the menu I'd recommend Roast Pork with Cashew Nuts. Culminates into me labelling this Chinese an excellent option for a good takeaway

We are staying in Alton for Alton Towers and picked Pearl Dragon as it was the closest,4 miles,we ordered salt and pepper shredded chicken,vegetable spring rolls,sweet n sour chicken balls,beef fried rice,special house curry with egg fried rice. Every dish was amazing,with every member commenting on it being the best Chinese they’ve had in a long time,hence the review!5*****

Superb Chinese Take away, passing through tourists visiting Alton Towers, chose this take away as it was close to where we were staying. Menu looked good online and they accepted plastic, which was handy as we had no cash. The crab claws were to die for! Great food, quick service, very impressed. All round good priced meal. Would happily visit again.

As ever the food was amazing, hot and totally yummy. They did get a couple of things wrong but think the guy who took the order was a bit confused with what I was saying. Wrong pop Fanta instead of coke and missing something of the order which I hadn't paid for anyway so all good. Really really nice though.

We ordered Singapore noodles, Crispy chilli beef, Salt and Chilli King Prawns and Singapore style crispy chicken...and not for the first time...i am going to say this is our 10th time.... the lovely man who took our order is just a pure delight.... and the lovely man who delivered our food is just wonderful....sounds really rude to forget the very , very talented chiefs who are making the most delicious delicious Chinese food in the area (in our opinion!) very well done ... stunning x

An excellent Chinese takeaway with a wide variety of meals at a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and courteous and you never have to wait too long. Would recommend to others seeking a quick and enjoyable meal👍.

Found this amazing little Chinese Food takeaway in Cheadle after a visit to Alton Towers. The food was amazing!! One of the best we have tasted. The shop is bright and clean. The staff are friendly. A great find!!

Great Chinese food was delicious piping hot when deliverd. Ordered few meals from here not had a problem. Defiantly best Chinese in the area...if people are visiting alton towers and aren't familiar with the area. Would highly recommend pearl dragon

Ordered 2 egg fried rice , one chips and two BBQ sauce, arrived home and came to put it out and noticed they had missed off a egg fried rice, called them and told them they had missed and item off the order,first was asked if I could pop up for it ,after saying no it was delivered promptly. Nothing against the food or quality but the pricing was extortionate. These five item were over 14 pounds plus, no longer a cheap meal in the age we are in. feel ripped off.

I ordered a vegetarian dish from this takeaway, when I got home and tucked into my meal I was alarmed to discover small pieces of meat in the noodles. I contacted Pearl Dragon to address this. Their complacency was unbelievable, and despite telling me the order was for vegetarian, and the ticket that went to the kitchen was vegetarian they did not offer an explanation and still maintained it was meat free. I was asked what meat was it, I was absolutely astounded, admittedly I was not so considered in my reply and was pushed into using some expletives to express my shock!! I was sick to the stomach when I realised this meat appeared to be some kind of rodent. The meal will be taken to the health inspector tomorrow.

Vegetarian meal with unidentified and unexplained meat in it. Very poor response from the takeaway and their explanation does point to the possibility it was rodent.

Stay in Alton Tower for three days holiday, order delivery from it,45 mins arrived on time.I would highly recommend.

I took my family on a trip back to my homeland from the West Coast of the USA. We stayed for a few days at Alton Towers but decided to venture out one night to grab some food. We stumbled across this little diamond of a place tucked away down a narrow side street. This was my family's first every trip to the UK so they were not accustomed to what food choices there are so we dove in an got a plethora of dishes to try. The service was great, polite and attentive. Portion sizes were very good and the quality of the food was also very high. There wasn't a scrap left by the end of the meal! It's funny, we spent just over 4 weeks traveling the UK and having all sorts of adventures, however, 1 of the most memorable events was the night we found the Pear Dragon and ate it at Alton Towers on an ironing board. Already plotting a return in 2021! ;o) **A little update, after 2years we were able to get back and visit Alton Towers and stopped here on the way back. Just as awesome and such a family memory we all cherish. Delish! ***Update #2, just had the pleasure of ordering here while back in the UK, I can confirm it's as delicious as ever with great staff! Can't wait to go back next week.

Ordered from here everytime we have gone camping in cheadle, never had any problems previously. Ordered on Tuesday night spent a fortune and was absolutely appalled. Where do I start. The price is extortionate, the food was totally bland as though no salt or seasoning was used. Every dish was strange in colour and there was very little meat in the dishes. Sauces were like water very disappointed and will not be returning. Don’t waste your money

Been a customer for some years with minimal complaints, but sadly last night had one, if the worst meals I have ever known, Chicken with spring onion and ginger with egg fried rice. Very little chicken, no spring onion, slight fragrance of ginger, however copious amounts uncooked white onion, few carrots and a watery consistence of sauce. Complicated with boiled rice and a smattering of egg flakes.

We decided to place an order this evening here. To try it as we had never been before. If there was an open for zero starts I would definitely be clicking it. We now wish we hadn’t bothered. The food is absolutely disgusting. Don’t waist your money.

Wouldn’t order again. Over charges me by £20 and took over 2 hours arrive! “Blamed the snow” I live a mile away! Food cold greasy. Phoned them and prices gone up apparently but I ordered off website menu! Order from china chef in future it’s better food and cheaper. Thought I’d try these guys “never again scammers!”.

Had to ring the 12 times before a answer .. thanks for being late it was worse that dreadful not cooked right I have bin coming here for a long time now and it's hot worse I mean I am lost for words I mean no answer so was waiting round any other takeaway has 2 phones and more that 1 behind the desk and also when it came was horrible and the lid was open would I go there again after this I very highly don't think so

Nice meal the only thing was the side door on the pictures was left open to allow anything to get in the kitchen where the food is prepared as you can see from the pictures there is a mesh on the door to shut to allow ventilation to the cooking area but seems they cannot be bothered to use the mesh door

First order was Lovley and fresh delivered hot. Today's order not as good. Chicken balls like string, soup chicken chow mine was hot fresh but chicken again like string

I ordered a main special mix meat with mushroom black bean sauce and egg fried rice. I received boiled rice and a tub of grotesque slop, which went into the bin! Wasted a tenner!

Really tasty food, highly recommend, however phone your order through though as they get quite busy at peak times. Yum yum 😋

Very disappointed, after looking forward to enjoying a nice meal. We dont often have a takeaway but as we had been busy all day decided to treat ourselves. We chose a set menu for 2 thinking that this will be their signature dish and shouldn't go wrong with the food, however: The positives; the ribs starter was really nice and set us up to look forward to enjoy the mains. The portions are very generous but on this occasion this was in reality a negative as it meant more waste for the bin. The negatives; the pork dish had very little pork meat within the meal and was 'substituted' with a processed pork meat (Spam like) which was tasteless, slimy and really off putting. The crispy fried chicken dish was tough with the batter being soggy. The beef dish again lacked flavour with the meat again appearing to be processed and was overdone resulting in it being somewhat chewy. We have had good meals in the distant past from the Pearl Dragon but unfortunately we will not be rushing back, clearly the takeaway has not lost a regular customer here but on the flip side it will not have gained one either.

This takeaway used to be good for food and delivery but for the sixth or seventh time now, we've endured delivery times far in excess of the unusual 1 hour delivery slot they have recently come to promise. Last time, it was 1.5 hours from phone to table. Right now, we have been waiting 2 hours and ten minutes for a delivery. Still no sign. If you don't live on their doorstep, then avoid them and go elsewhere. It's just a matter of getting more drivers....not a tough ask in the current climate if you're a busy takeaway!

Collection is fine and food is lovely but the delivery service is very poor. Order placed and told up to 1 1/2 hours but almost two hours later no food. When called to chase all they say is we are very busy, it will be another 20 minutes!! Not good enough. When you have taken an order and the money you need to deliver in the timescale stated. Up your game Pearl Dragon!!

We've frequented a few different Chinese takeaways in the towns surrounding us (Leek, Ashbourne, Cheadle & Blythe Bridge) but have found that Pearl Dragon is our favourite so far! The food is fresh, tasty & plentiful, with a great selection on the menu. The service has always been quick & efficient too.

We were staying in the Chained Oak Farm B&B in Alton and were told that Pearl Dragon would deliver there. We were warned on the phone it could be up to an hour wait and we decided we were happy with that, and it arrived pretty much bang on then. It was still hot and we got plenty of food for our money, all of it delicious. The chicken in the curry was some of the tenderest I've had, and the sides (spring rolls and prawn toast) were huge! It was honestly one of the best Chinese takeaways I've ever had, we were really impressed!

Although it's been in Cheadle years, and yes its had lots and lots of management/staff turn over, it's still managed to stay consistent. I love it. Whether it's a Billy no mates night with messy noodles that just wont quit, or hunt the spring roll night with a fav friend (noodles would work too, but the fav friend would need to be understanding) it's good all round chinese. Not had a bad one yet! Dim sum is a go to fav at the moment

Pearl Dragon Cheadle 681766052 been eating here since it opened in 1978 ordered tonight meal did not turn up, why did they take the order and not deliver it , they could of told us so we could of ordered from some where else

Used Pearl Dragon for 20+ years, food always good when collecting, unfortunately not always the case with delivery. We are 15 min away and normally 45 min +, more recently often more, today 1 1/2 hours and you could tell. Such a shame. Unless collecting will start to look elsewhere for delivery.

Great food, great service as ever

Having used this takeaway for delivery on numerous occasions I am afraid that we have had a number of deliveries of cold food which took far too long to be delivered. I would say that the food is generally good, hence the reason we have given this takeaway more than one opportunity to get this right but after a few very late deliveries of cold food this will probably be the last time that this takeaway will be getting any orders from our family.We ordered at 6:15pm and were advised that it would take approximately one hour. At 7:30 we called to chase the delivery and the only information we could be told was “it had left the shop”. Some 10-15 minutes later the food was delivered and all I can say is that it must have “left the shop” a long time before it arrived at the door as it was simply too cold to eat.It’s a shame that we now have a negative view of this takeaway, but there are alternatives in the town of Cheadle and we will certainly be trying those before we use the Pearl Dragon again.

My favourite Chinese in the area.(wouldn't bother with delivery though, Time can be hit and miss...)

Lovely food. Unsure of what to get? Chinese Chicken Curry or Crispy Noodles are some simple but nice dishes. If you have the money, try the Hors D'œuvres.
