Mr Vongs in Staffordshire Moorlands

Very disappointed, placed an order for delivery and advised 30-60 mins. Called as nothing had arrived after 80 mins to be told our order would be another 30 mins. When I asked why, I was told that an influx of orders came in AFTER ours and they had a big collection order that came in after ours. Basically if you’ve only got a small order they don’t care, shame as we’ve been regular customers over the years.

Everything was piping hot! Salt and pepper chips/ chicken balls were great! The chow meins were very bland and watery though.

Great food but cash only so be prepared.

Food is average and waiting times for delivery can be long!! Being told ‘your order will be with you in 30 minutes’ then waiting another 40 minutes!! Not great tbh!

Very annoyed and disappointed today. Having had a delivery from them every weekend for over six years we were badly let down. 40 minutes after placing our order we got a call saying they could not do it as they had too much on. So much for looking after loyal customers!!

We ordered a salt and pepper box and it was absolutely shocking, I wouldn't feed it to my dog, absolutely lathered in salt, everything was deep fat fried for that long it was all rock hard, it was so hard it could of been cooked in Viagra, you could of used the ribs as bricks to build a house, If someone threw one of the ribs at you, you would deffo be dead.

Shocking, lad serving really doesn't want to be there... At CASH Only you know it ain't right. Will not be going again.

Salt and pepper share box absolutely covered in salt the ribs in the share box all fat and bone no meat on them at all, really disappointing my husband and I was unable to eat this meal, safe to say we won’t be going back.

We have been using Gourmet Chinese for years but decided to try Mr Vongs for a change. It's safe to say that I won't be returning to Gourmet Chinese as Mr Vongs is the fresher and tastier of the two. 5 stars!

Had a few takeaways from here and they've been great, but had the salt and pepper share box last time and it was truly awful, dry and literally white with salt. We were all disappointed. Will try again but will keep well clear of this box.

They may have put there prices up alittle steep but I must say my meal was well worth it

Me and my partner ordered here as we have heard good things and we were let don’t I am very disappointed it took two hours to arrive and when it did arrive the chicken chow mien was all watery and it was definitely not chicken in the chow mien it’s was vile then just to top it all off the sweet and sour chicken was completely inedible I will not be going here again

I’ve had delivery from here a few times and haven’t been disappointed yet. Best one in Leek for sure.

❌Mr Vongs got it wrong! First time ordering and the last! One meal didn’t arrive and one meal was nothing like what was ordered. Phone to complain and staff weren’t interested Don’t waste your time with this place ❌

In my opinion the best Chinese in Leek. Highly recommend the salt and pepper chips, one bag is never enough 😃.It's a little more expensive in comparison to other local Chinese takeaways but the quality of the food is well worth the money. Relatively fast delivery and our orders are always piping hot and correct.

We have had several takeaways from Mr Vongs for many years but tonight we were disappointed. I collected the takeaway arrived home to find order the order was incorrect we contacted them but they insisted I had ordered the items we have received. The quality of the food was very disappointing the salt and pepper chicken was alot smaller and we had to warm all of the meals in the microwave before eating. Given this was a treat for a birthday feeling a very let down!!!

I think Vongs is the best Chinese in Leek so tasty and the fried food is not greasy. The waiting time is short too! Highly recommend!

Myself and my wife have used the takeaway loads and we won’t use anywhere else the Salt-N-Pepa chips are amazing and the beef chow mein is to die for very nice staff always efficient very clean inside will be definitely using them again

Mr. Vongs is a superb Chinese restaurant. Exquisite food and I think their spring rolls are fantastic. Polite, friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended.

I absolutely love Mr. Vongs! I honestly don’t know how it isn’t the best rated in Leek. The food is fresh, low on MSG, reasonably priced and arrives quickly (usually 30-45 minutes) We’ve had a variety of dishes from here and it’s never been a disappointment.

Love this place, i little bit more expensive than the others in Leek, but they never disappoint. I always have the special chow Mein, it is full to bursting with meat and great big king prawns. My partner always has the special with mixed veg....mmmm The only thing i will say is that sometimes the waiting times are huge but i suppose this tells you how good they are. Oh and not to forget salt and pepper chips - there is no other Chinese that can compete.

I was told that my order would be delivered between 1-2 hours from the time I ordered. I rang to check on my order as it was 2 hours after I placed my order and we still had no food. I was then told that it would be another 30-40 minutes in the kitchen. Which made it almost 9pm before we could eat! They gave no explanation for this and showed no remorse for the situation, as though I was privileged to be getting food at all. I will definitely not be ordering from this takeaway again.

Order placed at 5.19. 14/02/2021 Small order for 2. Told 1 to 2 hour delivery. Which again is ridiculous. Food delivered 19.37. 2 hours 18 minutes. Ridiculous. Food is good but not if you have it delivered

Waited two hours to be told the order was still a further thirty mins from leaving the shop!!!! I know times are tough for all but surely small businesses want to retain long loyal customers???? Maybe not!!! Very very disappointed!

Acting on a recommendation I ordered a take away. The set meal for two. As everything has to be delivered I had to order by phone which was very easy. I was given a time slot and the meal was delivered well on time. The delivery driver was very polite and observed all the required distancing rules. The meal it’s self was excellent and great value for money. I particularly liked the combo starter. It was great value for money and the portion sizes were very generous. I would definitely order from Mr Vongs again

The Chinese is always fresh and nice. The chicken balls are not good, there is more dough and a little bit of chicken.

I usually disagree with most negative reviews but on this occasion...I agree! Our usual Chinese was closed so we thought we’d try Mr Vongs. We made a mistake. The food was average and the delivery time was 1 hr 45 mins, when we were told it would be 45 mins! And this was a Tuesday! Not very good. We will stick to our regular!!

Best Chinese is leek. They offer so much food and so much variety. Only eat this Chinese in leek! Thank you!

Best Chinese I've had outside of China. Incredible food every time and I've been eating her for the past 5 or 6 years since moving to the area. Highly recommend.

Would give 1 star at best. Ordered the sweet and sour prawn and you could only taste vinegar. You could have smelt the strong stench of vinegar from Australia. The chicken and beef satay was like nothing you have ever tasted before. In a bad way. My poor daughter had to live of greasy prawn crackers as we had no other food.

The best I can say about the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted and that it was a congealed mess don’t do it peeps 😩

We had a takeaway. Third order in 10 day. Good prices, fast delivery and most importantly, very nice food. My King Prawn Curry was the best I have had in Leek. The egg fried rice was excellent. Will definitely re-order.

Absolutely gorgeous, food made piping hot for us at half past 10 on a Saturday. Two different meals with absolutely nothing but great things to say about them, and some of the nicest salt and pepper chips I've had (and I've been around!) 10/10 would vong again

I have tried every Chinese takeaway in leek and have been disappointed until I tried Mr Vons's. I really enjoyed the takeaway.

Really tasty chinese food and they do deliveries too. The best in Leek in our opinion. I love the lemon chicken or sweet and sour, my family love the schewuan dishes.

Called in earlier tonight (Fri 7th Sept) for the first time to Mr Vongs, ordered a S&S; chicken balls takeaway as I was on my way back from South Wales and had not eaten for hours. When I got back home I was unbelievably disappointed with what I had been served. The chicken balls were small in size, they were tasteless and stringy in texture, I can honestly say I've tasted better processed chicken nuggets which have been cooked from frozen. The small quantity of chicken balls received was equally disappointing. The flavour of the S&S; sauce was disgusting as it was like tasting pure vinegar, there was no added veg that you would normally expect to receive in this particular menu item such as tomatoes, onion, pepper and pineapple. Extremely poor value for money, I will certainly never think about going back there ever again, in fact I will do a detour and stick to my usual Chinese takeaways, avoiding Mr Vongs in Leek at all costs in future.

Best Chinese i have ever had even deliver to Scout camp or my house both way out of town depending on where we are. Staff are so friendly. would reccomed to anyone as the best in Leek.

Never again! Absolutely terrible.. we had a long wait, 15 minutes longer than the hour they said it would be ready in. The food was cold, very salty, and cheap quality, not nice at all. Do not bother going here.

Just moved to leek, so new to us, ordered chicken balls with curry sauce..... usually in batter in a paper bag, these looked like chicken nuggets in a plastic tray. Chow mien awful won’t be returning! Really disappointed!

The worst Chinese I've ever had, waited over an hour for delivery when I chased them I was told the driver was on their way.....only to wait another 20 mins. When the food finally arrived my chicken satay was like nothing I've ever seen or tasted before or wish to again, the chicken balls looked like cheap chicken dippers! Absolutely revolting and will never order from there again.

I was surprised by this place! My usual Chinese in Leek was closed; with a bit of google-fu I ended up here. The staff were polite and helpful, the food was red hot. I drove for 6 miles and left the food for half an hour and the spring rolls were still too hot to eat! I had chicken and pork fried rice with bbq sauce and a portion of meat spring rolls. Will definitely order again! :-)

Terrible food and they overcharged us by Five pounds. When we complained the person we spoke to said he want bothered! Absolutely aweful place

Very bad customer service. We ordered takeaway and got it delivered, however, we realised we were overcharged so we rang up to explain this and asked for a refund of the money owed and they told us this was not possible. We told them we would not be returning and we would be leaving a bad review if they didn’t pay us the money they overcharged, to which they said they “didn’t care” if they had a bad review. Since it has changed hands it has gone down hill! Choose somewhere better in Leek.

Really great food at really reasonable prices. Will cook anything to your taste. Great Staff and always deliver on time if not sooner than quoted. Their menu is large and always taste fantastic.

Great food at a reasonable price and cater for every ones taste. Opening hours are very good too. Recommend the sweet and sour dishes also the chicken and mushroom dishes.... really nice. Not too many onions like other places

Me and my husband have been going for months and the food was lovely at the beginning...but has drastically changed from time to time and has go worse over time to the point we stopped ordering different food and tonight put me off when I had horrible dry stringy chicken

Came here after watching a football game in Leek with my mate. On the edge of town, I ordered my usual chicken satay skewers and salt and chilli chips. Both were good and tasty and well above average compared to others. A good food hygiene rating, nice waiting area and decent service too

Would give zero if possible. Appalling customer service. Waited in the takeaway for more than 30 minutes. No apologies and no explanation for delays. Left with no food and asked for money back.

Keep going back to this take away and have found it is quicker to fetch rather than have delivered as the kitchen staff are so busy as the food is really nice and full of flavour.

El pato mejor crujiente que he tenido. Llegó como un medio pato y era crujientes por fuera, y suculento y 'otoño - aparte en su interior mucho mejor que cuando te pre-triturados. También teníamos la sal y pimienta, patatas fritas con sal y pimienta y salsa de curry de pollo. La sal y la pimienta pollo estaba ligeramente los trozos de pollo con mantequilla toda la mama. Sin duda el Sr. Vongs en el futuro.

Best Chinese ever delivery service is excellent

Sin duda la mejor comida china de puerro con las mejores patatas Pimienta Sal y nunca. Estos chicos no bombardean con menús porque no la necesita.. Vale la pena un viaje para recoger una excelente chino!

La comida siempre me deja decepcionado cuando mis hijos comprar desde allí. No sabe como china. Su insípida. Sabor y tengo que decir que creo que sabes un plato y de su su totalmente diferentes y desagradable.

I'd heard good reviews of Mr Vongs from friends and decided to try it for myself. I'm glad to say that I was not disappointed. The food I ordered was piping hot and very tasty. The next time I fancy a Chinese Mr Vongs will be my first port of call.

Lovely. Great sweetcorn soup even made it vegetarian as I don't touch chicken stock/ products. Seaweed a bit too salty and menu a bit simple/ lacking information but otherwise I would recommend.

Had a take-away here (on the advice of a friend) as our usual take-away was for some reason closed. Mr Vongs did not disappoint. We were very pleased with our mains, very hot, and much larger portions than our usual Chinese take-away choice. The food tasted lovely, and the rice was hot, also. We had delivery as well, which is always great and it only seemed to be half an hour on a busy evening.

Been here Thursday night for a take away! Had the best chilli chips ever. And all the main courses we ordered where very good to! The portions are huge! Very good quality and value for money.

Use this place regularly. Its lovely tasty food. Well prepared and fresh. Not bland like some chinese food. They cater for your tastes. I love extra chilli and garlic and they get it right. Delivery available too.

Never fails to deliver excellent, hot, tasty, food. Plenty of typical vegetables, lots of nice meat. Great dish choices. Also. Salt and Pepper chips are a must try. You thought chips couldn't get better. They can!

Tried this for the first time on a Sunday evening, not busy. Vegetable chow mein consisted of bamboo shoots, noodles, onions and a mushroom and Chinese vegetables were onions, mushrooms and one mange tout. Had expected some thing green even some pak choi, most of the food was a brown colour and tasted the same.

Always good food, quick when collecting. Very friendly defo reccomend the yeung chow fried rice :-)
