Excellent food and service, can't fault it

Interesting interior that makes it feel cosy and intimate. Although they have disabled toilets, they are impossible to get to in a wheelchair due to a couple of tight corners and a table placed in the way.

Popular local clean staff friendly used to be my local when it was the Wheatsheaf hotel.

Did enjoy our visit although the Steak had a lot of grizzle and the chicken was overcooked. Shame because it could have been better.

Nice spoons, and as per usual, like every spoons I've been to in the country, the beans on your breakfast are cold. But other than that, as expected, tidy consistency in expectations. Id go again 😁

Came here whilst staying at the nearby Alton Towers resort. Alton Towers restaurants were over fussy and over priced, so we came here instead for half the price and we all enjoyed our food, drink and desserts. Son said his chocolate fudge cake was the best dessert ever. Quick service, nice venue and clean.

Reasonably priced food and drink with pleasant surroundings. Service a little slow and one of the drinks was wrong, but it was very busy, so I think we can forgive that.

Came here for some food and the service was really good after we had some trouble with the App. My little brother enjoyed his food and the activities that were available. Definitely would recommend!

Standard 'Spoons fare. Ordered on the app, drinks came within a few minutes, food followed on in good time. Really nicely laid out at the back. Parked at rear so a great welcoming sight when we arrived!

We had to ask for the table to be cleaned. It was like asking for a favour. Ordered fish and chips. Fried scampi. Grilled chicken with bacon and Mediterranean salad. The chips were half raw. The salad was slimy and off. Chicken was overcooked and dry. As it's been micro oven heated. The glasses were dirty. The air smells at someone has peed. Please sort your pub out. I've eaten at others and not as bad as this.

We only briefly visited cheadle and when we went looking for a place to grab a drink & food this wetherspoon seemed the only option. As always it's classic wetherspoons a reasonable selection of beers and plenty of seating and standard pub food menu. There's a large rear outside seating area, so shouldn't struggle to find a table. But parking is limited.

Dropped my car off so decided to treat myself to breakfast. Bacon, sausage, egg, hash browns and beans with bottomless coffee. Hit the spot.

Ordered 3 meals 3 drinks on a Sunday afternoon. Rude baremaid wouldnt let us have our drinks even though we paid for them. Because I had no ID I'm 27, married, mortgage and hole leg sleeve. You can clearly tell I'm not under 25, she was rude,sarcastic and patronising. Food was cold, service slow. Swapped my cider for lemonade still charged for the cider. Never has such awful service. Didnt ID our friend that was only 21 though!

Every time we come here we have lovely food. One of the best places.

Lovely pub to have a good breakfast to start your day off.

Went in this evening and witnessed the staff asking 3 young men if they had ID. They obviously looked old enough but it seemed the staff were wanting an argument. Felt sorry for these young men. Bullying it seemed by the female staff, and all these lads ordered was a coke each. It’s not like they were ordering alcohol. They showed ID but it seemed they were still going at them. I’ve seen these three lads before. They’re lovely lads. The staff involved need to go on a customer service course as this was totally unacceptable by the staff tonight. Get a grip. You made fools of yourselves. Unbelievable behaviour.

Great pub, good food and clean tables

Been here twice and both times the food was unacceptable. On our visit today, 2 pizzas came out burnt and with hardly any sauce, and maybe 1tbsp cheese, including the full size pizza. The waitress was very rude, telling us 'this is the standard now' and they won't re-make it. The poor person at the bar was embarrassed at the quality of food we were given and we were told a refund would be issues in 3-5 days which I doubt as they did not ask for our payment cards. Waitstaff are clearly understaffed

Food is good for a spoons, service was quick and staff were friendly. The pub has a nice atmosphere and the beer garden would be great when the weather warms up

Midweek visit to this great pub. Nice atmosphere from a mixture of different people. Usual excellent prices with the added bonus of a large car park to the rear. If in the area, wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

It was all I'd expect from a Spoons. Cheap and cheerful!

What a lovely pub! Decor beautiful and rustic. Staff friendly. Locals welcoming and friendly. Prices fantastic with a gin and mixer for only £2.43 and a pint of Doombar for £2.60. We will be back again in future on our next travels.

Great place to visit after a long day out at Alton towers only 15 minutes from the resort and over half the price cheaper. Went as a family 2 adults 13/10/3 year old food and drinks perfect for family and such a great well kept venue Highly recommend to visit not only to avoid the ridiculous prices Alton towers charge but it's such a great place to visit with a car park for around 20 cars

No service when I needed help with the coffee machine

No tables inside to eat at 7pm on a Friday, didn't expect loads of empty tables tbh, but was nice food and a decent real ale.

It's like Wetherspoon, reasonable prices for food and drinks.

It's a Wetherspoons, you get what it says on the tin! But you have to love a spoons, always an interesting mix of people and defo no judgements when you walk in.

Always luke warm food on cold plates .Why can't they have hot plates so your food stays hot.

The issue is it is a wetherspoons so it's not good it's not bad it's some where in the middle, the food is what you pay for, the drinks are cheap, the atmosphere is typical of the town. Sum it up it's not good it's not bad it's a Wetherspoon

Usual weathspoons fare. Food is not bad, good beer and cocktail prices with special offers for children's drink, of course free coffee refills

It's not a bad place for a ping cuisine type meal and good value for money. The food was nice and fresh and the breakfasts are non greasy. Service is super swift but with little or no interaction probably because the service staff are busy. I had an American burger which was really tasty and I'm sure was grilled fresh.

Cheap and cheerful food. It's not fine dining, but I've never had any complaints. Can't really give the service any more stars. You order food and drinks and pay at the bar, and someone drops your order at your table with very little interaction.

Dark. Dirty tables, too long to wait to be served, only the good company I was with made the occasion enjoyable. Staff very illusive had to ask fellow customers for help!

Ok but very busy.needs other places to eat in this town

There is a disabled toilet downstairs. It's better than some Wetherspoons. I only went there to meet up with my partner, have one drink and go home.

Ordered on app drinks arrived within 3 mins. Food arrived around 10 mins Piping hot, good portion size of side of chilli's! Great time after long wet day at Alton Towers 5k

Not excellent food but not the best food either

Did not eat hear but an excellent choice of real ales to choose from. Extensive outdoor seating and beer garden.

Good price/performance ratio and opening times. I'm often there when appointments don't go well...

Kitchen doors propped open, so constant clatter of plate scraping, thing been thrown in the sink, constant loud beeping sound ecoing round the restraunt due to the dishwasher or micor wave being pressed. Lots of people commenting on it to each other. Staff totally oblivious, never normally like this. Not even that busy

This is the first review I have posted. We love this Weatherspoons and visit most weeks. The staff are the best always pleasant helpful and professional. The manager Diane runs her team so efficiently and is willing to accommodate any requests . It's very clean well stocked the food is great delivered to the table quickly by lovely staff. We cannot fault this pub/restaurant it offers fantastic value and service better than more expensive counterparts. Well done to everyone it proves that a manager who leads from the front succeeds

We stayed in Cheadle for 3 nights due to its location near alton Towers. Our journey down was horrendous so we simply went to the nearest place that did food and drink. We were so glad we did. Far and away the best wetherspoons we've ever been to. Cheaper than our local ones, cleaner, and simply brilliant friendly staff. Oh, and the food was gorgeous, we ended up going every night of our stay

Overall this is a lovely place to eat or drink. The staff are pretty good, however 2 days on the trot they didn't get our orders right. The service staff don't engage with you much, the little things like enjoy your meal, have you got everything, is there anything else I can get you, these little gestures go along way. Bar staff are a different matter they were spot on, very polite made sure the drinks were correct and actually spoke to you. I would still recommend The Wheatsheaf tho as the food was brilliant.

Very cheap prices compared to what we are used to.

Had a nice meal here while on holiday. Usual great Wetherspoons value but very dark old pub. Food excellent and staff helpful and would go again. Amazing prices as it was Steak night.

No usually a fan of Wetherspoons, today was a refreshing change, instead of the usual complacency shown towards customers, the staff today were really friendly. The manager, Steve was very welcoming and friendly. Certainly, not your usual disinterested front person. I will be back.

Nice place with beer garden. Free parking ( limited spaces) at rear of the pub after 3pm or just park at ASDA down the road (300 yards away).

Great place to meet for a pint. Food could be better but for the price you are paying it's outstanding. Very often your table would be sticky and wet, if staff would wipe them after every customer this place would get a 5⭐

Came here with friends and we was having a lovely night chatting away Wen diane came over to clear glasses and starts ranting i hope your not vaping in here else you will be kicked out I mean yes there was vapes on table but we was defo not vaping as we had just come back from outside and placed them on the table , I suggest in future check the cameras before pointing your miserable finger at customers this was bang out of order And i suggest you go on a customer service course because you are a very rude manager.

Great place well done Wetherspoons

This really is a great Weatherspoons, clean, friendly great relaxed atmosphere. The staff are all lovely. The outside seating area is so relaxed and welcoming. The planting and tubs are beautifully maintained and kept in tip top condition all year round, enhancing the ambiance of the outside area. Bonus is you will be sat opposite Pugins Gem and on a Sunday morning the sound of the bells are beautiful.....Throughly recommended 👌

A good Spoons with friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Has its own car park too, free after 18:00 and on Sundays.

Lovely pub, we went here instead of eating at one of the Alton Towers hotels as the food has gotten ridiculously expensive there. Food was great and there was a nice friendly atmosphere. Would highly recommend!
