First time drinking in leek.This was my favourite venue of the evening.

Good head chef here and food is aways on point . We will return.

A really good pub. Lovely friendly staff / atmosphere. Always a good pint or a coffee if that is preferred. I have had a number of meals here and they are always very good quality and value. Particularly recommend the steak and kidney pudding.

Great pub, lovely staff, delicious food. My son, my dog and I were reserved a great table for watching the rugby (which we had requested). Can't fault it.

Visited for Sunday lunch for a birthday get together. Seemed very short staffed, the bar staff were having to leave the bar unattended to deliver food to tables. A simple 'won't be a moment' would have gone a long way instead of just being ignored and left stood at the bar without being served for a good five minutes. The food arrived, I like vegetables al dente, but the parsnips, beans and cabbage were very undercooked, half of our party had to change their choice of meat as by 1 o'clock they had already run out of beef. We cleared the table ourselves and the dirty plates were still there when 2 of our parties sweets arrived (one of which was the wrong order). Very poor all round and unfortunately put a dampener on celebrations.

First time in the pub after being invited by my daughter and son in law to take part in a quiz night. Great evening with a well organised quiz. Some very knowledgeable and competitive teams; we weren't too bad, top 5, but I was more of a hindrance than a help. Friendly , efficient staff to look after us. We'll worth a visit.

Had a lovely lunch with friends last week. We hadn't booked & there were a number of tables reserved for larger groups. Nevertheless, we were able to find a table & although we were informed there could be a slight wait due to the pre-bookings, our food came promptly & the staff were excellent in slotting our orders in between the larger bookings. The food was excellent & very good value. Great service overall - thank you.

Good traditional pub , good selection of beers and largers . Great atmosphere and excellent staff.

Visited on quiz night, so was busy at the bar.

Had a rump steak sandwich full of sinew and could not chew complained chef said some people like it that way never heard any thing like it do not have.

Fantastic food. Everything came out hot, not warm like some places. Even let us change things to our order. Guy behind the bar called josh, was friendly, hard working, polite and nothing too much trouble. My friend had lasagne off the specials board and it's was chunky mets pieces not mince so pleasantly surprised. Definitely returning back. Well done guys x

The live music was really good. Two cocktails for £10. Ordered a plate of chips and they did not disappoint. Staff were really friendly

Overall, good service and really friendly staff. They did forget a cocktail but were happy to fix their mistake when we asked

We went and ordered food and at the serving window we watched a young man pour some sauces and then lick the rim of the bowl then serve it to customer. After confronting the young man the manager or supervisor then came to us and told us he was very upset with the matter and she called us bullies and refused us our refund stating we had already eaten which wasn't the case. I can say the gentleman who did give the refund was very understanding and gave us our refund. Wouldn't recommend

Been Red lion a few times now for meals and drinks and a private function. For drinks it's a solid pub,meals just above average and private function we went the staff were excellent,room was just about big enough but the buffet provided was average at best.

The food was pretty good good. Nice Sunday Lunch meal with my family. The service was good. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the pub.

I went with a group of friends for a catch up we had great service, cocktails were very good value you did have to have 2 of the same to get the deal, but to be honest that wasn't a problem. I had the special chicken mushroom and stilton sauce this was very tasty and very good value. We all said we would be back. The staff were all very friendly

Tried to go for food waited ten mins to get served and then got told they weren’t serving food because it was too hot. Went somewhere else

Called in for a drink & found it spacious with good polite staff Nice wee decking area to sit & enjoy outside.

What a fab pub! Stayed in leek for 4 nights as I was getting married nearby and we went into the red lion 3 out of the 4 nights - the only one not being the wedding night ha! They looked after us all weekend and even sorted us food out and the room upstairs with decorations so the party to continue the night after the wedding. Really attentive staff, food really tasty and all drinks reasonably priced. Thanks so much for helping to make our wedding weekend even more special.

Poor service, waited at the bar when almost empty. Staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves, needs a good manager to oversee the staff.

Unfortunately it took WELL over an hour for food to arrive. If this had been explained when ordered we would have understood, but it wasn't remotely busy, no excuse, no explanation, very poor communication.

I visit the Red Lion regularly with friends and family, always greeted with friendly and attentive staff, the food is always to a high standard and at a good price and love the homemade lasagna. Cocktails are always good and can't beat them on price. All in all a pub that meets the needs for everybody.

Always have a lovely visit here whether it’s for a coffee, to a cocktail or lunch out. Food is always of high quality, love the variety on the menu! Staff are lovely and will do anything to go out of their way to help you. Amazing cocktails, all round 10/10!

This was the first time we visited The Red Lion in Leek. But would highly recommend it to any one to visit. It dog friendly, as we had our dog with us he enjoyed all the a attention he received. As we had booked a large party gathering we where given a room upstairs which was private for us. We had a meal there that we pre-order, me and my partner had the scampi, Chips and mushy peas, the meal was satisfactory but we did not enjoy the mushy peas as they didn't have any flavour to them they needed a little salt or sugar. If I could have given 0 stars I would have. Bought 4 drinks and none of us could finish them as in the photo. The pump said Amber ale and we got golden dishwater. What a rubbish pub. No food available either.

To many children about at that time of night it was like a nursery it look like the only way the pub will survive

Very pleasant atmosphere. Wood fire, which is a rarity but added ambience. The food was delicious. I had sausages and mash with a starter of soup. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his smothered chicken chips and peas. My daughter had a buttermilk chicken with chips. All three dishes were very filling and well worth the money. The only gripe was that they were short staffed that day. But that wasn't the staff that were running round fault. Staff are pleasant and helpful No complaints about the food at all.

2nd visit on Sunday for food...had the roast (off the general menu last time) The atmosphere is quiet and welcoming. The staff are soo lovely, professional and clearly know what they're about. Quite frankly they work like little trojans and nothing is too much trouble. They make the best cup of tea I've ever had outside home. Sunday veg was a little underdone for our liking (6 of us) and the lovely waitress said she appreciated the feedback and would pass it back to the kitchen. Can't ask for more than that. The beef and Yorkshire puds were delicious. We'll definitely be back again !👍

First time in this pub and found it very friendly and welcoming. Good range of real ales all kept to a very high standard. The food we had was excellent also. Bar staff were very efficient and responsive.

Came here for food after reading a glowing review on Facebook. Unfortunately was left a bit disappointed due to the slow service. Waited over an hour for food which is not ideal on a quiet Wednesday night. Would try again but probably only for drinks.

Market Square pub with small 3 table beer garden to rear. Spacious interior with various areas. Food menu available and good choice of ales and lagers. Enjoyable short break from market stall shopping on a Saturday.

Late Sunday lunch Both had roast beef, this came with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes parsnips, cabbage, carrot and swede with lots of lovely onion gravy. We had horseradish served in a small pot. Plenty of meat, but it was a little tough. The roasts were a bit pale but tasted OK. Big bonus for lots of gravy, usually it's about a much as a thimble holds so that was nice. The staff are really friendly and very attentive, the beer was OK, just standard nothing more. £10 for a large Sunday roast, fair enough. The quality could be a little better but I was happy enough for what I paid. Not desperate to go back, but if I was in Leek again and looking for a late Sunday roast I'd give it a look.

Ok but when a young lad knocked a glass on the floor on his way out that was in the radiator by the door, and it wasn't his glass and it was by accident... Watching the bouncers tell him to pick the glass up with bare hands whilst they stood watching laughing...I don't think is appropriate behaviour for ANYONE ...especially people in their position. I tried to bring it up a few weeks ago but due to a private event I was told by a different set of security staff noone would come and speak to me about it. So yeah disgusting behaviour two grown men forcing a young lad to do something potentially dangerous and against health and safety ...but at least they felt like big hard boys for a moment in their lives. Bouncers should never assume everyone is drunk...because I wasn't when I saw that and after I told them how disgusting it was they didn't seem to care so they obviously feel untouchable. Shame cus the pub itself isn't a bad place...but if that's whose in charge of keeping me safe I'd rather not..

Called in here one Saturday morning as we couldn't get in the Market Kittchen Cafe across the square and found it a very welcoming dog friendly place. The man behind the bar came over and gave a few treats to the dog while he took our drinks order and when he returned with them took our food order of 3 full English and a Bacon + Sausage sandwich. All the food was fantastic and the coffee's were nice. We returned the next day to watch the live football and have a few pints, there were even a few dog beds avalible for the pooch to get comfortable during the game. We would recommend this pub for it's food and drink and also the welcome for our four legged friend.

Delightful pub, with friendly welcoming staff. Varied menu at reasonable prices, cooked well and served hot. Visit spoiled by football supporters, passing through Leek on their way to Stoke, causing noise, shouting, chanting, swearing and general disruption. Staff worked hard to do their work, whilst trying to keep this large group in order.

Super friendly staff. There is a great choice of drinks and lots of space.

We nipped in here for a couple of hours with two dogs for a drink and a bite to eat. Beer excellent as is the new lunchtime menu. Staff fantastic and a great pub to spend an afternoon in. The barman and server ‘Josh’ was excellent and a credit to the business. Keep up the great work.

Absolutely fantastic three course meal for valentines night. The meal was outstanding- top quality. The entertainment and atmosphere perfect, from the hearts and flowers, to the servers, we were blown away! Book for 2023 before word gets out and you can't get a table!! 🥰

Red lion. Lasagne all round 1 plant based 2 meat. Very nice. The staff overheard it was our granddaughters birthday and brought out ice cream,brownie desert with a happy birthday candle , on the house. And put the tune over the tannoy. No one asked them to. A lovely personal touch. Thank you Red Lion.
