The Master Potter in Staffordshire Moorlands

Wow the master Potter what a transformation!!! Absolutely stunning 😍 and to top it off amazing service from sascha and ollie, the place still looks brand new the attention to detail is mind blowing!! The toilets smell like a spa and not a urine trap. The glass was polished to perfection and the toilets were spotless!! The outside 😍 is 100% a place I'd like to sit in when summer comes!! We had a sharing platter for starters! Tasted fantastic think it was tex mex or somthing was banging. However I think side plates should be provided with this! I had a medium rare serlion steak 😋 and 100% beat Miller and carter from the last time I went there! My mate had the burger of the month and couldn't stop saying wow it's juicy and flavoursome! So a massive well done to kitchen staff for this ❤️👌 well and truly worth the money we spent tonight. We're coming and bringing more friends next time

Me and my family went this evening as we saw it just opened online and wanted to try it out. Overall, food was amazing and prices were reasonable good portion sizes. How ever, the service could be improved there was no one to great us at the entrance to show us to our table. Therefore, we were trying to find our table and walked into the over 18s area then waitress with blonde braids rudely asked for my child’s IDs when it was clear that we didn’t know where we were going.

Nice pints with very good food considering its just a pub not a restaurant, staff are nice but would like bigger portions as i normally have to order 2 mains, good free parking outside and a nice outside space

Firstly I will say the new refurb is lovely, it looks really funky and cool. The staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food quality has severely declined since the renovation. The old menu had a great range of Vegan choices and vegetarian, unfortunately there’s only now the Mushroom Chilli and the Beyond Meat burger. I had a beyond meat burger and it came with no sauce, no side salad, just a few “rosemary fries”, but I was unable to taste rosemary. It wasn’t very warm either. - other Greene kings have better/more options for example the Vegan bbq cheesy chips and vegan nachos. 3 family members went for the Mac and cheese, it looked undercooked and lacked flavour, a bit more cheese would have been great! One family member ordered the steak (£14 something) and it was tough to cut, the sausage on the side didn’t look cooked. It’s a real shame. I wish they had the old menu to fit with how nicely they’ve decorated!

This was our 3rd visit since the refurb. This is our 'local' go to for family celebrations. The new layout is very attractive and comfortable. Lovely decor. The Staff are really friendly and helpful. But the food is a real let down. Not a patch on the previous menu's. There is far less choice, smaller plates and and most of the the choices are of a poor quality and bland. Certainly over priced for what is on offer. This also applies to many of the drinks. Come on Management do something quickly, or lose your brilliant staff, they shouldn't have to shoulder the complains, and your regular customers.

An outside visitor over to see my brother. We came to the newly camped Master Potter. ABBA night, wonderful pub full of people enjoying the ambience and almost all singing along at the end. So.... We decided to have Sunday lunch here. Had the beef and turkey duo. Perfectly cooked, crunch veggies and of course the obligatory jam roly poly for pud... Definitely recommend this establishment

Just visited for the first time since the refurbishment, and it is much more welcoming. The meal that I had was very good, and well presented, and the staff were very polite, I wil be returning, and would recommend it highly, a very pleasant visit, thank you very much, Brian H.

No curry! No tuna! No sticky toffee pudding! No proper dinner. Expensive and never again. All false advertising on the menu on the website. No mustard and no lasagne. The young waitress turned this experience around and although this is factual, she sorted me out, so I’d say ask. She was so polite and credit to her team. Thank you.

Had lunch here . Was a great atmosphere. Staff were very friendly especially the lady on the bar. We opted for the burger didn't realise there was burger and drink for £10 . So added bonus . Food was tasty . The vegetarian range could do with a bit of planning. Maybe a veggie pie or tart or bake could be on the menu plus also add a vegan option on the seniors menu .overall a good meal

Met my friend at the recently revamped Master Potter, for our bi-monthly get together. We have been before but the change was clear to see. The pub was quite busy and the atmosphere was lovely. Really nice outdoor area which I am sure we will try in the summer. Staff were very helpful and came regularly to check everything was ok and cleaned the empty table immediately which was great. I was 'encouraged' to try the halloumi with sweet chilli sauce starter - highly recommend and the cheesy garlic bread was delicious. We then both had the katsu curry which came with wild rice and chips, absolutely piping hot and delicious and I was so full at the end I didn't have room to try the cookie with ice-cream that I had spotted but that will definitely be sampled next time. All in all a great night, lovely venue and really nice staff that are extremely helpful - would highly recommend a visit.

Got say what a wonderful welcome we had when first arrived from a lovely smiley young lady name Ria, she looked after us throughout our visit. The food was excellent and the atmosphere very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be returning. Thank you so much.

Shocking, first we had booked for 7 adults for a birthday. The table was barely big enough for six. Orders for drinks, only one med glass of pino... that was the ONLY white wine they had on the premises but they did manage to squeeze a large red wine from somewhere...and that was the end of the red as well. I could go on and on but have better things to do. Suffice to say, the food ranged from awful to mediocre and the whole experience was ghastly. To add insult to injury they didn't even wish the birthday girl a happy birthday 😕😕🥴

I decided to download the app and order a drink to see how fast it would actually come, because I couldn’t see anyone on the bar . Anyway nothing arrived and to be fair I was the first in ordering . So I nipped up and waited and I saw what looked like the lady in charge and she apologised. She was a very pleasant lady. The other server was nattering away round the corner. Anyway I got my drink and sat down . We decided to order two meals. An ultimate combo and a medley of burgers meal with chips. Six burger in total. Unfortunately. My burgers were hit and miss. I ate two. The southern fried chicken was lovely and the cheese burger one was ok but the others were barely warm. I did mention it to a young lady who mentioned it to who was on the bar but nothing could be done apparently. The other meal looked over cooked. The thing is mine looked like it was warmed up meat but apparently it was cooked fresh? Anyway I’m always honest on here and considering we went six months ago to the same pub and the food was ace somethings gone wrong here. Very disappointed and the last time I’ll go there. Shame as I used this pub for many years. And it was fine then . Steak would have had more stars but it was very chewy, it was cooked medium as ordered so all in all not bad, the steak needed hammering more to make it tender. Staff were very good

We had a fantastic experience when we walked into the pub. Charlotte, our server, greeted us warmly and promptly took our drink orders. She was incredibly polite and made sure that all our needs were met. We were impressed with her attentive and friendly service. Whilst having our drinks, we decided to order food. Charlotte was quick to take our order and even opened a tab for us. The food arrived promptly and exceeded our expectations. It was served piping hot and tasted incredibly fresh. We were thoroughly satisfied with our meals. Throughout our time at the pub, we couldn't help but notice how friendly and helpful all the staff members were. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great experience. We highly recommend the staff at this pub for their excellent service. In particular, we would like to give a special shoutout to Charlotte for her exceptional service. She was not only friendly but also went out of her way to make our visit memorable. We would highly recommend her as a server. Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Master Potter. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the service was top-notch. Food was excellent on the Friday night (busiest night). Was served promptly, food was delicious and hot. Saturday night was disappointing. Items missing from the meal, service extremely slow, food not overly hot and left a lot of improvement. Chalking it up to a bad night. Decor could definitely be redone, felt really outdated.

Got blueline discount so reasonable prices with discount. Everyone enjoyed the food. Picture is sweet nachos, which I have not had before.

Meals priced for the family, a decent meal each time we call. For the money I think you will be pleased. Friendly staff large spacious pub. Refurbished toilets are much better. Small outdoor play area for the kids. Outside seating I enjoy each visit.

This is the best local pub you will visit in the area.. Olly and Tracey and all the team have turned this pub around with old and new customers now returning. It is a pleasure to now come out to this pub. Olly is second to none as a manager and is well supported by his partner Tracey who is now working in the pub. All round great team and pub making it an invaluable local to the community..

steak was very grizzly, wasn’t able to cut not worth the money at all the chicken goujons didn’t have enough sauce at all, was very dry would NOT buy again.

After a pleasant stroll, we decided to grab a bite at this pub. The pub grub was good, with prices that didn't break the bank. The desserts hit the spot perfectly, satisfying my sweet tooth cravings. And of course, I couldn't resist indulging in a pint or two of Guinness. However, it seemed that the local school kids favored the toilets here, which resulted in a frustrating experience of finding them blocked after their use. Fortunately, the staff promptly directed me to an alternative restroom, alleviating the inconvenience. Overall, a satisfactory stop, left with a full belly.

Nice reasonably priced food . I was a bit gutted that they didn't have fish fingers left but hey ho. Its an all round nice place with lovely staff. It also has a nice play area for the kids with indoor seating really close where you can keep an eye on them .

We visit here at least once a month, and always find the staff really welcoming and helpful. The food is good quality and whole some, and is very good value, they have different deals on every day, especially wine Wednesday. The atmosphere is great, especially on quiz nights, and everyone is so friendly. I would highly recommend the Master Potter for a good affordable night out.

Food somewhat spoiled by being left under the warming lamps to long, the 12oz steak I ordered was dry but just about edible.
