Amazing after a long day at Alton Towers and before long drive home Visited on 29th October with my family after a pretty terrible day at Alton Towers (Rides were constantly breaking due to this que times unreal) Amazing vale for money top notch food and fantastic service Was able to sit in for no extra charge was even given a choice of FREE drinks for my children Whole experience was amazing and made our not so good day a whole heep better Thanks again next time we visit we will look at there homemade burgers as they looked amazing to just had my ming on the pie chips and gravy this time Thanks again can't wait to visit in the future

Travelled 6 miles out of our way as website said open on Sundays until 9pm. Arrived at 7:30 and was closed. Disappointing

Great burger and chips. Burgers are homemade and delicious. They use fresh meat and not frozen patties! Will definitely be back. I would like to add that the people who were running the shop were really friendly and welcoming too!

The best chip shop in Cheadle staff's the chips are well cooked the fish are big and the staff are so helpful all the time

Lovely people working there, great humor, food was made in peak time, and wrapping of the food secures that no food is lost during travel

Lovely chips. Great kebabs . They also do burgers now. I am yet to try but will update when I have. The owners are lovely. I have been in and a couple of lads and a girl have been behind the counter and couldn't be bothered to batter a sausage so I went elsewhere. Lovely food though, normal staff are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a try for anyone in the area.

Had a really good meal. Staff welcoming and very polite. Large cod and chips freshly made. Really delicious, best I have had in a long time.

This chip shop has gone great but the service is rubbish no matter when you go what you order you have to wait....

Me and my husband came to the area for a delivery and visited this place by chance. The owners are so welcoming and the service is excellent. They have seating arrangements and quality fish and chips, not soggy but crisp👌🏼 and affordable. Definitely recommend to everyone. Thank you Zaynab and team

Needed a chip shop that had seating so it ticked that box. Food cooked to order. The fish was excellent but the staff either couldn't understand my Yorkshire accent or their English wasn't that good. Very pleasant staff though I did have to laugh that although there were two tables to sit at if you wanted salt and vinegar then you had to keep asking over the counter for it as they only seemed to have one set in the whole chippy. It must be a bit rough in Cheadle if they can't let the salt and vinegar out of their sight for fear of it getting nicked.

Worst mushy peas EVER. Totally inedible. Chips were ok, and the fish was good, hence 3 stars. If we'd have been eating in I would've complained about the peas. A total waste of money.

Went there a few days ago whilst on holiday. Ordered the Doner Wrap. It was sensational. The employees were friendly and I will go back if I am in the area again.

Excellent food, superb customer service. Portions were more than enough. Went in with family and ate inside, clean and tidy place and good pricing.

By far the best chippy round here, staff are absolutely lovely, very clean and lots of choices on the menu to suit everyone. Always hot fresh food an really generous portions. Fast service and exceptional customer service would definitely recommend trying here, lovely family run business 🥰🥰

Food was fine, however, the wait was ridiculous, I wondered if they had gone to catch some cod for me... We had food from another takeaway too, which was then tepid because of the wait here. We didn't expect such a wait at a fish bar so naturally ordered the other food to collect first, silly mistake.

Great food and service. Came all the way to Alton Towers from Oldham, stopped by at Cheadles as there were few places selling halal food. Not too expensive, owners were very friendly. Totally enjoyed it.

I asked for fish, chips & peas. What I got was a fish, chip and pea 'cake'... 🤨

We ordered for lunch here and everything we had was of great quality. The servers were extremely polite and accommodating. We had a big order, but they got everything perfect and labelled each one so we know whos was who. Will deffo go again

Probably the most expensive chippy around,small fish and chips, donna kebab and chips over 15 quid was i charged wrong (mistake) i dont know but not going again! But does look clean,

Only an OK, fish left with skin on which is a no no for me, chips only OK.

Sat for over 40 minutes just waiting for one portion of fish and chips!! Slow as fook. I will be using Tean Fish Bar from now on.

Absolutely vile , chips over-cooked , sausage awful and peas cold and the weirdest colour, won't be going there again , even the dog wouldn't eat it 🤮

Went to get tea from here Friday 9th September 2022, service was shocking new girl hadn’t got a clue what she was doing. Asked for mushy peas and got COLD processed !!!!! And it took 40 mins from entering to getting back in the car!!! Will definitely not be using in the future. DREADFUL

As always excellent service, well prepared and fried fish/chips and value for money.

Not nice at all. Was going to get a refund but the miss's stopped me. She dosnt like confrontation. Sausage tasted awfully and off. Food went straight in the bin 2 minutes after purchase. Has put me off visiting cheadle .

Fantastic battered sausage and chips

I had chicken pieces and chips from here on Monday 9th May and I have been very ill since, today (14th) is the first time I have eaten since and can only do toast. A LOUSEY MEAL, chicken must have been through the cooker several times. Will never eat from there again.

Quick stop on the motorbike I Cheadle...being vegan nothing on menu I could eat except chips but they were good and the portion generous. So can't complain 😌

Travelling to Alton Towers from Birmingham and this place is where we get our food from. Never disappoints!

First time going to Cheadle Fish Bar, not sure if it was an off day but the chips were soggy with Grease and the fish absolutely tasteless and batter undercooked. I wouldnt bother.

Can't express how brilliant this place is. Wonderful food, kind staff, excellent prices. Cod and chips is great but if you're weird like me get the value box 1 with battered burger. Lovely!

They food is cooked fresh so it's worth the wait. Amazing gravy ! It has limited seats too, about 10_ish so you can sit in with your food. It has some on street short limited stay parking right outside the main door. Very handy for call collect.good portions.

Ordered fish and chips for two people. Fish was dry and the battered tasted cheap and dry. Also, order chicken breast which was beyond dry! Chicken tasted dry and again, the skin / batter was over cooked and dry. Certainly wouldn’t recommend this place. Such a shame as the guys who work there are really pleasant.

Sorry to say that my latest experience from this chippy was pretty dire. We usually go here rather than the Goldfish Bowl, as in the past the service has been good & the chips used to be reasonable with good portion sizes. However, there have been a few occasions in the last 6 months or so when the quality has been hit & miss. This visit was a massive miss. Chips were grey inside, super hard & tasted like they'd been warmed up and then microwaved! The only redeeming feature was the gravy was still tasty, but most of the £5 sausage dinner ended up in the bin. Along with that the service was very good with the cashier seeming put out when I didn't have cash & needed to pay by card (which I always have in the past with no issue). Will be giving the Goldfish Bowl a try from now on.

The food is OK, but not consistent, one day its good, the next it tastes like it was re cooked from yesterday. If you can, stick to the chip shop down the road, miles better and focused on cooking just the usual chip shop food, not kebabs and loads of other things as well, which means they are very good at what they do, rather than being OK at everything, masters of nothing.

You can tell these would be good chips if fresh, but unfortunately we were served lukewarm and dry.

Looked unappetising ,fish was dry , chips brown and dry ,my daughter had chicken kebab which was also bland and dry ,not impressed

Friendly cashier on the til who was happy to take my order. Quick service. Food wasn’t up to standards though, chips were extremely greasy and wet. Additionally the chicken STUNK, and it was pink so my only assumption is that it was undercooked.

Second time here this lunchtime chips cold and ended up with bad stomach and it would be nice If the staff spoke English. Sorry but will not be returning.

Spot on good old chippy and the lad are so good with fish and chips but the chicken kebabs are the dogs. Just had a taste off them today. Just try the chicken kebab you will not be disappointed.

Cheadle fish bar is Fantastic. It has always been a great food outlet but the New owners have really improved the quality of the food. Great food and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Best fish and chip shop in cheadle. Friendly staff , gorgeous chips and generous portions plus the fish is cooked to perfection and batter is great tasting light and crispy just as it should be only criticism is the mushy peas they are a bit hard and need salt but doesn't stop me from returning and recommending.

Stopped at this fish bar after a day out at Alton Towers with my dad and had a fish and chips. We ate in. The fish was lovely, white and delicious and the chips were awesome. The service and staff were brilliant. Would definitely recommend, also cheap as chips ;D

Best fish from a chip shop I’ve ever had. Chips were gorgeous, sausage was amazing. Lovely owners too, we were stuck on what the kebab would be like and they let us try some for free, left us wishing we went for that too!!

Best Fish & Chips for many a mile. Quality food at reasonable prices, friendly staff and a nice eating area if you want to relax. Clean, bright, cheerful and the very finest food in the local area.

The food at the Cheadle Fish Bar is top quality fresh and hot,as well as a large choice,definitely thumbs up! The staff are also very courteous and happy to serve you with a smile 🙂
