Popped in for a bit of lunch on the way home from shopping. Ordered our food and waited what seemed like for ever for it to come. When it did come I was not impressed and it was a bit on the cold side. Asked where the bread was that goes with the risotto and the person serving our food didn't know it came with bread and had to go off and cook some. The overall experience was very disappointing and will not be dinning at the windmill again.

Went for drink. Had to find staff. Absolutely useless. Waited 20 minutes to be served after the lad served one other couple 2 coffees. Never seen a slower human being. This place will close down very soon. Absolute garbage.

Warm welcome, sat in the lounge as they have a lovely log fire which I found calm and relaxing. I had the Bacon and Chicken Bagette with Salad and Chunky Chips from the lunch menu. The food was fantastic quality and good value for money. Sabrina and the team are doing an amazing job. Nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend to others and will be visiting regularly myself with friends and family. Thank you to the Chef, Simon for the lovely food and also a big thanks to Sabrina and the team for a warm welcome. 👍😁

The staff seem to be as reliable as a 1970's Rover, they let the manager down every night. The manager has more excuses than a Child whom hasn't done their homework. Nothing is his fault, we were charged for drinks we didn't receive and then criticised for not paying for them. The food was as bland as the beige that hearing aids are coloured in. The toilets have seen less soap than a tramps feet. If you order a prawn main, it is the same as the starter. just costs you more. And to top it all off the entire visit was about as socially distant as a train at rush hour.

Beautiful food all served piping hot and attractively displayed. We had six dishes plus a basket of bread between the two of us - we couldn’t finish it all! Great service in nice surroundings. With a bottle of wine the bill came to just over £60 - incredible value. It’s a shame there weren’t more people dining, although we were there very early in the evening before heading over to the nearby - and equally excellent - Foxlowe Arts Centre to see comedian Rich Hall. A great night much-enhanced by some great food.

Food and service were pleasant enough, but this is not a two rosette restaurant. The AA person must have been on something when they rated this restaurant. The restaurant is basically a corridor for members of staff and the public, they just wander through it's laughable, at one point the manager walked through with an iron and an ironing board under his arm!
