Don’t normally feel the need to write but felt service by staff was downright condescending today. Have had previous coffees there whilst walking through the quarry but won’t be returning. I asked for two cortardo coffees, heard staff instruct for two espressos - when challenging that the espresso coffees given were not cortardo I was told what a cortardo was which was I was given with a smirk and then followed by smirks to other staff. This was on top of witnessing another incident with a foreign visitor two weeks previous where the same staff were smirking in front of them when trying to order. I’m not an over sensitive person but this staff need to recognise that basic manners, patience and respect are required in the service industry or else people won’t return. They have a captive audience in their location but it says something that the vice cream can had a queue of 12 when they had none!
I was impressed at how quickly the long queue went down and how much food was available, saving the Greggs panic of whether the person in front is going to get the last steak bake. Sharon the supervisor was excellent. Very efficient and pleasant. The lady next to her was getting quite stroppy with the customers not listening to ‘who’s next’? Frustrating no doubt but i’m sure it happens all the time. Hopefully she was just having a bad morning. She was very efficient though.
I ordered a takeaway from here on Wednesday evening. The food was ready for collection in 15 minutes. I had the Chicken Tikka Main which was delicious. The portion size was good and it came with salad and curry sauce. I also had Vegetable Pakora and they were delicious too. They came with special sauce. The bill came to £10.90 for one starter and one main course which was good value for money. The service was excellent, and the place looked clean and tidy inside from what I could see. Overall I would highly recommend this Indian takeaway to others.

Placed order, from 18:00 rang for delivery update on way 18:30 rang again onway, it a 10 min journey from shop to address, rang 18:50 to cancel to be told it outside, it came 19:00 lady had no change so let us off £3 to find two rice n peas missing so call again to be told I send it and complimentary meal next time, still waiting on rice and it a day later, only good thing food was nice
Food not the worst but extremely put off my hygiene. Pictures to follow , faeces everywhere. Staff all just talking when a staff memeber saw the poo in the toilet and did nothing about. Just really filthy looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. As a pregnant women this is very scary as I feel exposed to such bacteria. I feel so uncomfortable.
Mal servicio, falta de comunicación o saludo. Me equivoqué con una bebida y dos chocolates calientes ni siquiera estaban calientes y mucho menos calientes.
So disappointing , such a beautiful venue and great for kids to play in the play area but .. slow service and not the first time waited 20 mins for our drinks which was a bottle of cider and a can of lemon Fanta , waited 50 mins for our lunch which was a jacket potato and fish and chips and a kids meal . When arrived jacket was cold , the fish and chips were a bag of frozen chunky chips not cooked all the way through and the fish was just a frozen fish fillet was expecting something fresh and worth the money . Kids meal was cold but he still ate it as it didn’t bother him . Waited 10 mins for his ice cream still hadn’t came so we just left . Did go in to talk to someone but the chef was there waving his hands saying this is f-ing ridiculous and the two girls on the till were so young looked like they was still training so we just left.
As part of our day at Coombe Abbey meeting up with my twin brother and his wife we decided to have a coffee. The cafe was very covoid safe and the coffee was good-in paper cups which we drank outside.
popped in and ordered 3 dishes, chow mein, sweet and sour chicken balls and a mixed fried rice dish. Service couldnt have been more pleasant - though they do only take cash... food excellent, low on additives and really tasty... amongst the best Chinese I have had in a long time - highly recommended
Dobbies has destroyed this once lovely garden centre. They’ve reduced it to an eclectic expensive soulless warehouse. Checkout women was miserable! Cafe is more like a canteen and I found it almost impossible to find a clean plate in the pile of illegally clean plates. There was no ambiance or atmosphere of any kind!
The management respond to the criticism by way of acknowledgement but they’ve done nothing about it. I should have read the reviews before going as I could have saved myself a journey! What a flea pit! Surprised at Waitrose!
Drinks were delicious but we had to query prices as they didn't match the board. (They were higher.) The female barrista was helpful and did resolve our issues.
Very unfriendly staff. Interrupting when tried to order and almost throwing the plates on the tables. Brought out one of our orders within 5 minutes and the other hadn’t even started being made by the time it was finished. Staff had forgotten about our order and gave us dirty looks when we asked about it. The forgotten order in question was raw when we eventually received. Very disappointed, given the price and the reputation of the chain, will not be going back.
Ordered a vegetarian breakfast. It was awful, dry and tasteless. One Mushroom tasted dry and leathery. 1 SMALL peice of toast, cold , dried up looks like it was cooked last week. The egg was not much better. A ramekin bowl of baked beans, no taste. The vegetarian sausage tasted vile and was definitely cooked earlier in the morning. Only good thing on the plate was the 2 hash browns. Overall dry, tasteless, cold. Definitely the worst breakfast I've ever tasted.
Terrible service. Manager is useless. Placed orders and long wait times and food missing. When speaking to the manager they refuse to refund or receiver.
