Just awful…. So so expensive. Kids menu is a rip off, £5.20 for the lunch box, and you don’t even get a full sandwich (you get two little triangles) Garlic bread and kids food came out first, garlic bread was cold and mains came out 10 mins later. Chicken in the panini was terrible quality and full of black chunks, the jacket potato was also cold, no butter on it, and a small pot of cheese on the side which was covered in flour so out of a pre grated bag. Had a side of chips which were also barely warm when they came out. For £30 I expected more. Really pricey for what it is and I’ll also add that the cafe was practically empty so I dread to think what the food is like on a busy weekend.

Oh no Dobbies what's happened? Service was painfully slow and the food was not good. Nearly raw chunky chips and a Croque Monsieur with untoasted bread. It was pretty good in the past albeit with slow service. All the money that must have been spent on the cafe and service is still slow.

Why is the service always so slow at Dobbies? We called in at about 2pm today only four groups of people ahead us - we waited 20 minutes to be served. The restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday afternoon which was just as well as many of the tables were covered in used crockery etc. waiting to be cleared. Dobbies have obviously made an investment into the restaurant as it is now quite large. The staff could do with some training so that things could run more efficiently. This is not our first visit to the restaurant and it always so slow there doesn't appear to be any improvement despite all the negative feedback on Tripadvisor

A group of us stopped for coffee after a cycle ride, we were warned that service was slow & they were only serving drinks & cakes but slow was a major understatement. The trainee was serving the food while the other person took the orders, this person was not helping the trainee other than to give orders. The till where orders were taken is past where drinks were served causing massive confusion. I ordered tea, a muffin & bought a bottle of soft drink. When my tea was eventually made I had to ask for a cup & milk, my daughter ended up helping herself to the muffin, by this time I had a cup & no milk. I had to walk out before I said something I’d regret. My daughter eventually brought the order out & a member of staff came out to apologise with all the usual ‘we’re short staffed etc’. If Dobies don’t want to run a cafe properly they should close it & be done. This isn’t the first time I’ve had appalling service here.

I dont recommend if you have any allergies or dietary requirements they dont have a clue. I only asked for two gingerbread lattes with soya milk due to dairy allergy. The lady added lots of whipped cream. We asked for new ones with no cream she said well that's how it comes! She then made us half cups because they ran out of soya but still charged us full price. £6.50 for two half a cup lattes!! Staff were very rude!

My partner was hungry so we called into the restaurant bit of a queue and one server just about to leaving one person on the counter. We ordered a sandwich and sat and waited.it promptly arrived which was delicious the hot chocolate drink was also nice. The garden centre was very nice but one thing that let it down was the toilet check list .If you are going to have one make sure they are checked regularly. We arrived at 1.30 on a Sunday and it hadn't been signed off since sat.

Called in here yesterday afternoon and decided to have something to eat. Opted for the pensioners special. Had fish and chips, mine was ok, husband couldn't eat his. Fish was too tough to cut, gave it back to the server, was given another one which unfortunately was as bad as the first one. Then had fruit crumble and custard, which was hard and tasted burnt. We were given another pot of tea while we waited for the new fish meal to be cooked. An awful meal, thank goodness it wasn't full price! I have to say the girl serving at the till, the man who served us at the table, and the lady clearing up were all very nice and pleasant.

Always loved blooms for their cafe and soft play. I forgot I’ve been since it was dobbies and stupidly came for lunch. £7 for a bog standard panini and £6.50 for an over microwaved jacket potato. The kids snack box choices are awful - full size mars bar and pots of Nutella for £5 it’s not wonder people take their kids to McDonald’s. We waited over 20 minutes to be served and it wasn’t even that busy. The food came 10 minutes apart so we never actually ate together. £1.95 for a sugar free can of pop is just an absolute disgrace. Dread to think how long you would wait if it was actually busy. If it wasn’t for the fact we Had a hungry and bored toddler we definitely would have got a refund and left!

No longer Blooms, now called Dobbies. Arrived mid morning, my first visit, immediately struck by how cold the cafe was. Cafe area looked regimented and unwelcoming. Three members of staff behind counter, only 1 customer in front of me, yet no progress seemed to be made in serving anyone. Cake display looked anaemic and unappetising, scones were burnt on top. Coffee tasted bitter. By late morning the queue was really long with little progress still being made in moving the queue. Was chilled to the bone after sitting there for an hour.

This cafe is simply not good enough. I had to wait more than 15 minutes to get two coffees at around 11:10 today (13 November) and the place was far from busy. The cafe was always awful under Wyevale and is sadly no better under Dobbies. My wife and I have been to numerous Dobbies Garden Centres and are Dobbies Plus members, so we are expecting the same high standards to be present here, but sadly they are not. The new owners are clearly giving us a first class Garden Centre and it would be a real shame for it to be let down by one of the worst cafe's that I have ever visited.

Booked the afternoon tea Spooktacular for my 2 children and their grandparents. The kids were so excited, made loads of effort getting dressed up etc. When they arrived the cafe area was too busy so the event was moved outside (undercover, but still very much outside!) on a very wet and dreary day! My mother-in-law queried what exactly was included, the reply (from who I believe is the Manager) was "there's colouring there, and she's dressed as a witch". Nothing "spooktacular" about it and in the end they got their money back, as did some other customers. You'd think first of all that the tables inside would be reserved for the people that had booked tickets for this event (at a specified time!) and a little more effort for the kids wouldn't go amiss. Such a shame - was looking to book for breakfast with Santa, but definitely will not be bothering!

Went this morning with a friend to buy bird seed and have a coffee and we were tempted to have breakfast and a cake. As it was close to 11.30 am, when they stop servoig breakfast, our order was taken by a waitress, who said she would bring it to us. We were intrigued by a green cake and decided to share a slice. We still hadn't reached the till when our breakfast was ready, but the waitress very kindly took it to a table for us. At the till, we asked what the cake was and were told it was coffee and walnut, which surprised us, and that the bill camr to £19.85. I proffered a £20 note and was given my receipt but no change. At the table we asked the waitress again what the cake was, and she said that it was a herb cake with raspberry jam, not coffee and walnut as we had been told. The breakfast was good, although the beans could have been hotter, and the cake tasted overwhelmingly of the raspberry jam, not the herbs. In short, good food, slow service at the till, but excellent service at the table.

After 35 minutes I asked where our food was, the young girl said she'd find out, 10 minutes later our food arrived with no apology. There are a lot of different areas apart from plants to see, such as 'Hotter shoes', 'B on Marche and 'Mountain Wsrehouse'; a garden area with lots of plants and garden equipment. In July/August, you can buy bargsins, but not with the fruit trees. Underserved smaller areas, selling gifts, household things, things for pets; and clothes shops, such as Edinburgh Mills, and a cafe. We only bought some bedding plants and a garden keeper and a couple of small gifts. Some things were a bit pricey, but others were a reasonable pricr.

Have gone to this garden centre off and on for about 19 years and over the last few years noticed a general decline. Service seems to be very slow no matter what time of day or whatever day you go. The queues can be horrendous. A distinct lack of organisation. Hubby decided a couple of months back we would not go again. However. attended the Bon Marche franchise to return an item ordered online which did not fit. As the garden centre itself was very quiet and unusually the restaurant too, we went for a drink. As it was so quiet we couldn't understand why the staff were stood chatting behind the counter, resulting in slow service. Tables had dirty crockery/cutlery with food remnants which had not been cleared away and because of this there were flies settling on the tables. We moved to a different part of the restaurant only to find another five flies in the serving area near the cakes. We fully appreciate it is first and foremost a garden centre and will therefore have flying insects outside, but we were surprised to see so many flies in the cooked food area. We shall not be returning.

Firstly, the food is RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED, with jacket potatoes starting from £6.95!! Apparently this sorrowful state of a jacket potato is worth nearly £7 and that was one of the cheapest fillings! Secondly, we had to wait in the queue for at least 10-15 minutes as the staff seemed to serve people very slowly, which made us wonder whether it was even worth staying! We visited with our 2 year old granddaughter as they have a good indoor play centre at a reasonable price next to the cafe. When we arrived it was very quiet and we managed to get served quite quickly but the layout of the cafe ordering area meant that customers that had paid then had to wait at the end of the counter to receive their order. Unfortunately this meant that because drinks/food preparation was slower that ordering, a large queue became bunched up waiting. Later my daughter went back to order a pot of tea and by this time the queue was huge and it took 10 mins for her to get served. Another problem seemed to be the clearing of the tables with one table and the floor under the table, in the play entrance area being covered with spilt milk all the time we were there.

The food was great quality and the kids loved it. The biggest bonus for us was no clearing up at the end!

We often visit this cafe which is usually very pleasant but not recently my goodness it is like a sauna in there and the poor staff how they can work in conditions like that and stay cheerful have no idea ..Really does need to have some form of air conditioning for summer months was a totally unpleasant visit. Also to speed up service a contact less card reader would surely help!!Sort it out Blooms !!

We visited the restaurant as a party of 4 for afternoon tea. Must admit that having read the previous reviews we were a little concerned but decided to try for ourselves. We ordered the afternoon tea and was immediately served the coffee/tea to take to a table. Tables all appeared clean and cleared. Almost immediately we were served the afternoon tea by 2 very pleasant waitresses. I asked for some tap water ( not realising that there was a dispenser and ice nearby for free) but the waitress happily bought 4 glasses of water to the table. The only negative was that the restaurant was very hot, and no air con. The finger sandwiches were ham and tomato and cucumber and cheese. This was followed by a lovely scone with clotted cream and jam. There was a selection of small cakes: a macaroon, an almond cake, a meringue and a chocolate brownie. We could have had free refills of tea/ coffee if required. We had an enjoyable time and would certainly return.

I visited the café last week with a friend last week, we ordered a tuna mayo sandwich each on white bread and one bottle of water £1.75 (for the water) there was a container with tap water and glasses available too (free). The sandwiches arrived, what a poor excuse of a sandwich - bread was not fresh, no butter/margarine on the bread and the green leaves on the side of the plate, even Peter Rabbit would have left those!

My wife and I visited for afternoon tea, which was a present from friends for my birthday. We sat outside in the covered area as we took our dog with us. The young lady at the counter was extremely helpful and very pleasant. I gave her my voucher, and she asked for my Gardening Club Card and then told me I had a £2 discount. That was really nice. I took my pot of tea etc to my table, and in no time at all the food was brought out. It looked very nice, but one or two minor points stopped me from giving it 5 stars.

My mum, sister and I visited Blooms (now Wyevale Garden Centre). With my 6 month old baby. We decided to have breakfast. There was hardly anyone in the cafe but a few people in the que. there was one lady and 1 man serving and no joke it took about 15 minutes to be served. There didn’t seem to be any type of urgency at all. Now I know garden centre food food is expensive but I think Why-vale is very overpriced. £1.60 for a can of Coke. Anyway I order my breakfast and the women was very nice. We sat down to wait, & wait, & wait some more about 40 minutes my breakfast came out and it was not what I ordered. However the lady again was very nice and changed it straight away. Had this not been the case I would have given it 1* Then whilst browsing the store I found a sale rail with mixed discounted clothing. No one was around to serve that section of the garden centre. I took some items to the till only to be told that they were not on sale. I tried to explain that the same items had sale stickers on them but the cashier was a bit rude and insisted I must be wrong. Disappointing trip and I and my son will not be returning again.

Visited with my wife today. We had jacket potatoes at £6.95 each. Both of our small amounts of salad had dirty lettuce (actual mud) and the rest of the salad looked like it had started to rot - definitely past its best. We effectively paid £7 for each spud.

Visited the restaurant and it took forever to be served. Garden centre manager was sitting on the sofas smoking a vape ???? Fish finger sandwich was gross. Dry cheap bread, cheap mushy fish fingers. £6 disgusting. Dirty tables. Wouldn’t go there again. Neither would my friends.

Visited the cafe for a bit of lunch and ordered the “New” menu item of a Fish finger Sandwich with little gem and tartare sauce. When it arrived it was very disappointing for £6. The bread was just usual cheap sliced white. The fish finger also looked very cheap (not 100% fish). There was no tartare sauce to be seen and the little gem had been substituted with watercress!! The plate was garnished with side salad but that contained a piece of grass complete with seeds! Overpriced for the quality provided.

Was given this as a gift, a disappointing experience, slow service so 1st pot tea gone warm before the 3 tier tea arrived, although the pot was refreshed, sandwiches were on dry side, never was asked about type of bread, brown bread I can't have, cucumber weren't sliced thin enough, cheese instead of grated was cut, too much spread made for greasy eating. Scones were dry, the top tier was a very misleading horrible biscuits instead of cakes as illustrated on the card voucher, we noticed plenty of nice cakes and the advertising of afternoon tea gift cards amongst them. We got 1 shortbread with smarties on it, two cookies and four very soggy tiny coloured macaroons which was horrible.

Called in late on a midweek afternoon so not too busy. Rather a limited choice for my gluten free friend but she enjoyed a GF scone and I had a with gluten scone which was much better than it looked Yes they are an odd colour! Service was quick but as noted it was a quiet day. Coffee was, as reported in another review, all over the outside of the cup, but maybe they read the reviews as the lady serving very carefully wiped the cup with kitchen roll. So all in all a perfectly acceptable tea/coffee and scone break but at nearly £5 each it should be.

Had a tea and a coffee. Was going to have a scone but they were a strange colour. My husband’s coffee was given to him with the saucer full of coffee. He asked for another saucer but the coffee was all over the sides of the cup. Cannot believe he wasn’t given a fresh one. The cup looked disgusting. Staff need training.

Every time I have come over the years I say never again - but I never learn. The food is OK, a bit expensive, by the service is terrible! We waited over 1/2 hour for two bowls of soup. When I complained, along with several others, to the manager he said they had neither the equipment nor the staff that they needed.

We order 3 meals. 1 was incorrect and had to be changed and 1 didn’t arrive for 30mins, they had completely forgotten about it. Not handled well by the staff who barely apologised, came over to offer me a free drink while I waited when I was clearly on the phone so couldn’t respond. Very expensive for poor service and mediocre quality.

One of the worst meals we’ve had here for a while, it went down hill a few years ago then pulled itself back up but unfortunately it’s nearly at rock bottom again. Birthday meal for 3 with 2 of us having starters. Holloumi strips really more like over cooked batter strips, they were very well (burnt) over cooked all the halloumi had nearly evaporated. Sharer Nachos normally they are hot these were ice cold and not the best. MAINS cold onion rings on the “super” specials hunters chicken, the chicken was chewy but hot and had hardly any sauce on (luckily they have bbq sauce as a sauce) And one fish and chips, the fish was thin and the batter was soft the chips on the fish n chips were ok. Won’t be coming back for a long while again!!

Called in here while looking around Rugby for a meal and was not impressed. The food was not very appetising and the service was mediocre. The food was also overpriced for the quality. The place itself needs a makeover. Not considered value for money.

Take Notice.. Burgers were possibly smaller than McDonald's, thin and tasted plain. Handful of chips. Coffee, tried all types and all tasted horrid. Never again. Will return for beer but not food..
