On a Thursday night the normal dining area was packed and we retreated to a seperate characterless room where we ate solo. Food was normal pub standard but service was good .In essence this is a well liked local pub (hence the crowded dining area on a Thursday).
Absolutely beautiful place. Stunning, immaculately kept golf course. Went for lunch and the restaurant overlooks the course. I'm not a golfer but would definitely be a member here if I was. Had a fantastic lunch and was served by Helen who was fantastic. She was super happy and nothing was too much trouble. Spoke very highly of her boss/owner too which I thought was great. Would definitely recommend.
The food and service were very good. The curries were fresh, subtly spiced and well presented. Good naans too! A very reasonable £72 for 4, which included 2 large Kingfishers.
OMG! The carrot cake , home made by Emma is to die for. Get yourself down there quick. The other baking is also yum scrum but today was the carrot cake extravaganza! 🙂🐷🤣
We came for Sunday lunch on New Year’s Eve and had the beef sirloin and pork. Both dishes were delicious with a fab selection of roast veg and delicious homemade yorkshires. The staff are also fab, definitely worth a visit!
Charming pub lovely roaring log burners to welcome you in and loads of character.
visited as a family of 4
Our meals were
Beef and Guinness pie
Ham egg and chips
Seafood pie
Fish and chips.
Each were well presented plentiful and tasted superb the fish itself is the best I've had in a very long time so crispy not soggy like you get in some places.
Staff were all helpful and polite.
Worthy of a visit thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
Stopped off for coffee nice to sit outside in the sunshine made this a very good place to pick
Prices were not the reason the size of the scones was not the reason either
Everything here seems to have shrunk except the price
The coffe was quite nice to drink not as hot as we like
A wonderful eclectic range of goods but also a very fine cafe/restaurant.In a very echoing building with high ceiling and comfortable seating.Car park on the flat but stony. There is a side ramped entrance for disabled. We were seated very quickly and our order taken by helpful cheerful staff.A very varied menu with all day breakfast. It was very noisy in there .We thoroughly enjoyed our food which can be adapted for GF diets. There are clean modern toilets. An option when paying by card is to add a discretionary tip.
My family and I had the £4.50 meal deal baguette, cake and drink. The baguettes were massive and fresh. My only criticism is there was way too much nayo in the chicken baguette but delicious none the less. Good selection of cakes and drinks. Great value for money
Best cappuccino I’ve ever tasted ( I used to be a travel writer so I’ve been around a bit), beautiful cakes, relaxed stylish surroundings and the staff are so friendly and helpful.
Just the best fish, chips and curry sauce with a couple of faggots :) A little gem opposite the Barrels! Don’t be late. When it’s gone, closes at 9 ish :)
You can also eat them in the outside area of the Barrels so, perfect combo with great beers!!
