We came for Sunday lunch on New Year’s Eve and had the beef sirloin and pork. Both dishes were delicious with a fab selection of roast veg and delicious homemade yorkshires. The staff are also fab, definitely worth a visit!

I feel kindness should be acknowledged. I rang this restaurant on Christmas Eve on the off chance they could do a takeaway Christmas Day lunch for my father in law who was unfortunately spending the day on his own but lives nearby, not only did they agree to do a 3 course lunch for him the lovely lady I spoke to Jackie arranged for it to be delivered to him, I know it will be very much appreciated by my father in law, but I felt such a lovey gesture should be recognised, Thank you so much.

Went For Sunday lunch the beef was the toughest I have experienced in the last 12 months. we were given another helping which was no better The vegetables were so undercooked I had difficulty cutting them The most edible were the roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings Definitely will no be going back

Interesting location on the hillside overlooking the valleys and golf courses. We were one of the first tables for a Sunday seating and it took a while to get drinks orders in. Service was a bit slow so however when we ordered, we were NOT advised there was only ONE chef for the entire restaurant. It took about 25 mins for starters to come and another 25-30 for mains so if you're going there for Brunch, don't expect them to be quick. The day we were there their till system crashed so they couldn't print receipts, though the staff did their best showing the screens to customers. We did pay the optional service charge, only because we felt sorry for the waitress as the kitchen whilst pumping out tasty food took far too long.

Lovely venue, shame about the food. The views and decor are excellent and the staff are friendly. There was a long wait for the food and the starters were fine except, I'm a vegetarian and ate a piece of what, I think, was chicken contaminating my garlic mushrooms. This disgusts me on several levels including my concern for those allergic to some foods. This is the first meat I've eaten in 30 years and it had to be chicken of all things. The soup was chicken and not a veggie option. The menu had changed, but not online, so the things I thought were available weren't. Sunday roast - my two friend's beef so tough it was inedible, the 'roast' potatoes were dry, stale and tasted as if they'd been boiled in advance and put in the fat fryer, the veg and Yorkshires were ok. My impression is of a very cheap, stewing cut of beef which they've tried to roast. I've noticed this before at another restaurant. It was overcooked and like shoe leather. Deep frying boiled potatoes is a well known restaurant cheat but seldom successful. The potatoes had no seasoning whatsoever. I asked for mint sauce which was shop bought and just spooned into a jar, with no dilution with vinegar or sugar, so was overwhelmingly strong. There weren't enough staff to cope, although they were all working very hard. It's no good having an online menu which is out of date and they've employed a 'chef' not able to cook well and who doesn't understand how to cook cheap meat. We had the food discounted but that's no consolation when you're looking forward to a meal. It was a poor experience which we won't be repeating.

Extremely friendly owners and a fabulous breakfast and coffee served mid week. Great value too. Visited this pub due to our Motorbike book MARK offering up as a destination and loved it. They even have a campsite!

This place needs a lot of work. Read good reports so was looking forward to having brunch here. Had a Quick Look in the Delhi are looking for local treats girl sat on bar stool in the corner did not even lift her head from her Mobil phone. Went into cafe very little on menu, one soup, sandwiches and poor Brekky menu. Order a bacon sandwich which had half a slice of bacon and very expensive. Try other cafe in the village.

We were four for lunch. We hadn't been to the Stag for a while with memories of a quiet country pub/restaurant. A friendly greeting and we were shown to a table in a somewhat garishly presented dining room, quite different from what we expected. Service was efficient but rather brisk and we were spoken to rather loudly. Perhaps our combined age of 340 years was a factor? Food was a mixed bag. The starters were fine but two of the main courses were a let down. Ceasar salad was presented in a bowl, difficult to eat, with a large piece of chicken instead of strips and huge hard croutons. We asked for a plate and for the croutons to be broken down. When ordering gammon I had expected a slice about quarter of an inch thick with poached egg. What came was a large medallion which required a steak knife to get through it. When I mentioned the unusual presentation (for me) I was told that they had been serving it that way for some months without complaint. So there, I thought! Finally, the wine, a glass of Malbec, £11.00.
