A wonderful eclectic range of goods but also a very fine cafe/restaurant.In a very echoing building with high ceiling and comfortable seating.Car park on the flat but stony.There is a side ramped entrance for disabled.We were seated very quickly and our order taken by helpful cheerful staff.A very varied menu with all day breakfast.It was very noisy in there .We thoroughly enjoyed our food which can be adapted for GF diets.There are clean modern toilets.An option when paying by card is to add a discretionary tip.

My wife and I spent Valentine's evening in this lovely restaurant. We both had fig and Monkland blue cheese salad, which was so tasty. The addition of candied walnuts was inspired. For mains, I had tender chicken and blue cheese roulade with very smooth and tasty mash and gravy. My wife was extremely happy with her green lipped mussels in a spicy sauce, hand cut chips and bread to soak up the juice. Desert for both of us was "Tarte tatin". Not a traditional one but a sugary, crunchy disc of puff pastry with zingy sauce around a poached pear and proper vanilla ice-cream. Topped off with a spun sugar disc. The whole meal was brilliant, but the highlight for me was the serving staff and the manager. They were very friendly , walking around obviously very happy to be working there. We were both very happy with the whole experience.

This is our second visit, but the first for Sunday lunch, and we definitely weren’t disappointed. The lunch was beautiful, a collage of good quality ingredients, well cooked

Visited the restaurant for a long awaited catch up with a friend. The food was very nice as on previous visits, and the surroundings beautiful. This aside unfortunately, I'm not sure we would want to go back. The table service from the young ladies was very good and they were extremely polite and attentive. But the front of house was appauling. On arrival it seemed a lot of trouble to even acknowledge us waiting patiently. Then on leaving, we again waited patiently, and after some time the same lady (blonde straight hair) 'TOLD US' how much our bill was. So I paid, and waited again for confirmation it had gone through. She completely ignored us and turned away. Not so much as an all OK, or heavens forbid a thankyou. I visited this establishment when it first opened and many times since. The front of house service used to be good but has been on a slow decline over the last 12 -18 months, and therefore we will go back to other locations who welcome the custom.

Lovely setting with great views and ample parking. We had a perfect Sunday lunch which was served by cheerful and friendly staff. Everything was faultless and we'd happily return.

Beautiful setting and great decor. We went for Pizza night and the pizzas were delicious (as were the chicken tenders side. Great ciders too and we made a purchase in their shop to take some home. Would recommend and we’ll definitely go back

I have tried breakfasts in numerous cafes and this breakfast is the best I have tasted. All freshly cooked and set out on the plate perfectly, not one thing piled on top of another. The sausages are full of meat and the bacon is second to none. I would recommed this feast .

Wow ordered our food and came in under 10 minutes coffee amazing added bonus two lovely spaniels outside running about. Lovely chatty friendly staff definitely will be back. Best breakfast

This is a great place to eat…especially on a lovely sunny day, which it was for us. We sat outside and were very quickly served by a lovely lady. My husband had the full big English break fast, all fresh cooked, no microwave heating up of the first class quality bacon and sausage, it looked and was grease free served up beautifully. For me it was my usual of sourdough toast, mashed avocado and poached eggs with added fried halloumi. I have eaten this dish…minus the halloumi…. all over the UK over a number of years…..this was absolutely perfect 20 out of 10 !! The young man who cooked it has this off to perfection, lovely mashed avocado, perfectly poached eggs ( no under cooked whites, but just right runny yolks), a good slice of sourdough toast and a drizzle of chilli jam and crispy halloumi, I’m drooling just thinking of it. Lovely coffee. The staff were great, attentive and friendly. Totally recommend this place and we will be back when in the area.

Another stunning Sunday lunch! Gorgeous beef. Home made roasties. Huge selection of veg. Generous portions. And then the most delicious rice pudding. Plenty of cider to choose from. Friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

This week we decided to dine out for Sunday lunch .The roast beef and roast pork were both outstanding – cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour , the gravy was amazing, I nearly licked my plate .The Service was prompt and efficient but to top it all the deserts were to die for . Compliments to the chef . We are already looking forward to our next visit and highly recommend,

Lunch with my family. Food was fantastic, atmosphere was buzzing. staff did an incredible job, attentive but not over so. will be back and would recommend to anyone. thank you Newton Court !
