I arranged a lunch here for my walking group of 40. The meals were excellent and served by friendly staff. It was a most enjoyable occasion.

A very pleasant dining experience with a fair choice on the menu for these reduced Covid times. We choose the barbecued spare ribs which were excellent and other foods in the restaurant looked and smelled good. We did not have to wait long for the food as the service was very good. We followed the ribs up with an excellent cheese board and a glass of Malbec. A big bonus for us was no shrieking uncontrollable children in the dining area as they tend to go for the hotel chains. All in all a first class meal at a reasonable price. Thoroughly recommended for dining if you are in the area.

We ate in the restaurant the second evening of our 2 night stay at the hotel and wished we had eaten here the First evening too! Freshly cooked to order, we thoroughly enjoyed our food. The restaurant was quiet and we were did not feel hurried, service was relaxed and friendly, with the hotel owner happy to have a chat.

We had read some views on the place but went there to see for our selves, great little restaurant and the host is a real character, down to earth and a good laugh, the food was great the menu was not huge but the fare was great, I have paid twice as much for less in many other places, we had two main meals( mine was a ribeye steak) soft drinks coffee and hot chocolate and it was less than thirty six pounds!!! so give it a try.

The food here is excellent and is really good value. The menu is not large and includes Steak and Ale Pie at £9.95, Lamb Shank at £13.95 and Sea Bass at £14; all of which are highly recommended. Steaks and burgers are also available and the starters are typically £5 to £6.

Tucked away on the other side of Ross, but a nice spot near the river, very homely feel and beautifully run. They were even kind enough to give us a lift to Symonds Yat next morning to save us a tortuous bus route...! Would highly recommend!

We stayed here for three nights and were so pleased with the way the staff looked after us, it seemed nothing was to much trouble. Lovely place to stay, the room was overlooking the river, and the food was excellent. We had family to lunch and the staff made a fuss of the grandchildren and we all had a lovely time

We had lunch here on a day out touring the area arriving at 1pm. Our meal was taken in the bar which is wood panelled and has a log fire. There were 10 others dining when we stared. 3 more came after us. We had white bait followed by steak and coffee (served in a pot with petit fours) coffee and a glass of wine. Very friendly staff. After lunch we sat in lounge where there is free wifi and researched our next move, we went to Leominster and found fab antiques! Cost £62.

We ate here during a short break. It was our wedding anniversary and had been recommended by our host Darren from The Bridge House. It was a Sunday evening and fairly quiet but the food and service were excellent. I would definitely eat here again. When our waiter knew it was our anniversary he gave me a box of chocolates. A lovely touch.

We meet here bi-monthly, usually a group of 30. Our last meeting was on the 6th May 2014 and the food was superb. 19 of us opted for steak and it was the third best steak I had ever had! Very reasonably priced too. Service with a smile and use of the room for our speaker. Hard to best!

We chose this hotel almost at random for a quick mid-week break. It's a pleasant stay, just outside Ross. Our room had a good view of the river and the spire in the town. Just a short walk away we were able to relax and drink beer at the riverside whilst watching kingfishers and herons. There was a good choice for breakfast [inc strawberries], a pleasant little bar and a car park just the right size for the hotel.Thank's guys...we'll try to come back again.

We had the wedding package here for 60 people and the day was perfect in every way. Georgina and her team were great hosts, they were helpful in all our preparations and made sure everything went smoothly. We had several meals here before the wedding which were all good and our wedding meal was exellent and very well presented. We stayed here on the wedding night and family stayed in 2 of the other rooms, all rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the heart shaped toast was a nice touch for us newly-weds. Thanks again.

We took my lovely mother-in-law to the Wilton restaurant at Castle Lodge for her 70th birthday meal - which happened to be on valentines day. The food was delicious and the staff and service made us all feel special - the kids loved the heart shaped chocolate lollies on each side plate! We have since taken business colleagues to the restaurant for working lunches and have always enjoyed excellent service and good food.

Visited here on 18/04/12. He to wait 1 hour before starter arrived. Chicken terrine was full of skin and fat, steak was cremated, salad was half a plate of lollo rosso. Chips very greasy. Dirty place mates. Very dated, tired hotel and restaurant. Would never go again

We visited for Sunday lunch with family. There was no atmosphere within the hotel. The starters were ok. The carvery however was lukewarm, small amount of gravy on the meat and veg served for you (with no extra gravy given). There was a choice of 4 desserts but I felt did not include something for everyone. Cheesecake, Pannacotta, Chocolate brownie or Bread & Butter pudding. My husband asked if there was any specials or would it be possible to have something else. No was the answer. I asked for cream to accompany my cheesecake. It was served without. The waitress stood at the end of the table and waited for us to stack our plates and pass them along. Two of us had coffee to follow of which this was served with milk not cream. Very disappointing overall - we have eaten at other venues for less than this for a three course and have recieved better food & service. Would not be in a rush to go back. I feel the hotel is trying to be something it is not. Most people are looking for value for money, good home cooked food without any frills.

I represent a Men's Supper Group who meet at the Castle Lodge Hotel every other month, and have done for some years. We always have a 4 course meal followed by a guest speaker. Carlos, his wife and staff unfailingly make us very welcome, the food is consistently of a high standard and the accomodation has been perfect for our needs. Many of the group eat here individually too, and we recommend the hotel to our friends who need overnight B&B or a holiday stay.

We came by this Hotel quite by chance as we were at the famous Ross Regatta. To celebrate my daughters double win at this event we went to the Castle Lodge. The meal was simply amazing with no-one able to finish and the quality would have made a London chef blush! Was this a one-off?Over the last six years we have enjoyed the Castle Lodge, been received as old friends and simply you have to go here and experience the best seafood you will have anywhere, at any price in the whole of the UK.Simply the best!

We were staying on the Malvern View Country and Leisure Park for a weekend stay which we could not fault. However, we dined at The Old Barnhouse on the Saturday evening and unfortunately the food was terrible. We waited for nearly an hour and when the food arrived it was half cold. My mother and father had scampi and chips, no peas and they were out of tartare sauce! My sister and I had the New Yorker chicken which consisted of a huge portion of coleslaw that wasn’t very nice and the chicken was small and if poor quality. My daughter had a kids pizza, chips and beans which was just about acceptable. The five meals and a round of drinks came to over £80 which was appalling for the quality of the food. Avoid The Old Barnhouse for food! Pleasant enough for a drink.

A textbook experience from the moment we entered this charmingly characterful pub restaurant. The staff were attentive from the beginning to the end, polite & friendly. Our meals were well cooked & delicious & we ended with a tea & coffee; my coffee was the best I've experienced in a long time! We shall certainly return quite soon!

I ordered a pork roll with apple sauce and crackling. The crackling was a tiny square and the apple sauce was merely a smear. I ordered a latte and my wife ordered an Americano, I forgot which was which so tasted each and couldn't tell the difference. We both left our coffees and went to Coffee #1 for a decent cuppa. Shame
