The best restaurants in Wiltshire South West

My boyfriend and I have stopped here a few times for takeaway, and it has never disappointed us. The food is always of exceptional quality, the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the prices are fantastic for the quality you receive. The oxtail is insane and we also love the curry goat. We absolutely love Yanni’s Restaurant—consistently excellent! 10/10.

Great food, great service, warm and cosy pub. Dog friendly. Highly recommend. We had the vegetarian Sunday lunch of nut roast with all the trimmings. Delicious especially the gravy!

Great fish and chips around, the guys were very busy when I arrived but the wait was so worth it. The fish was cooked to perfection and the batter was crispy. Friendly staff. If you want great food at great prices then Eds is the place to go!

Proper old style boozer. Decent enough food. Nothing fancy but a lovely atmosphere. It's the heart of Tisbury

Why did we leave it so late to come to Hixon?! We had an amazing birthday meal for my partner, the service was great (despite being super busy) and we enjoyed some incredible limitless steak, chips, peppercorn sauce and ceaser salad. Huge thanks to Belle and Jess for being so attentive. All in a lovely setting right in the heart of Salisbury!

Beautiful pub with amazing food

We came away for our quarterly year family holiday get away, we was recommended to come and have dinner which we booked in advance which was very easy to do. The pub was busy and we were seen straight away, amazing customer service was noticed instantly , and a brilliant varied menu really caught our eye. The family all went for steak and lamb , being gluten free and dairy isn’t great for me the chef completely went out of his way to cook amazing fish and a lovely salad , it was so above and beyond it really completed our night , the wine was perfect, the family said it was the best steak they had had , I just wanted to say a huge thank you to yourself and your team really went out of your way to ensure we were catered for perfectly , it’s extremely rare to see this now , do not ever change we will be back when we next visit Thank you again, and please extent our thanks to your amazing team and kind chefs.

On a random outing and found myself here! Staff were very friendly, nice atmosphere and my only wish is that I lived closer so I can visit again. Thanks Matt for a great time

Really friendly and amazingly tasty food

Lovely country pub and food is lovely. We visit when we come to the area on holiday. Staff lovely and friendly and my dog is always welcome here too.

A fantastic hotel with outstanding staff! We arrived late in the evening and needed four rooms. We were assisted by two incredibly friendly gentlemen, one of whom, if I remember correctly, was named Jason. We only had to wait five minutes for our room keys, and during that time, we were kindly offered a drink. Jason then informed us that, unfortunately, the hotel did not have a restaurant, but they provided a shuttle service to the city center. We took advantage of this, and what an amazing service it was! 10/10 for the service and staff!

Excellent well positioned café with rooms in Sherston - no breakfast and but café opens at 0800 am for breakfast- everything as it should be - lovely quiet location - great instructions of how to get into the cafe (all coded) - comfortable rooms - excellent breakfast the next day - pay on departure (but they do have card details stored if you forget!!) No staff on site

I was surprised by the great reviews because the food was appalling. We had squid, patatas bravas, bread and olives all of which disappointed. The squid and potatoes were very greasy. The squid was oil and batter, it was a struggle to find the squid and when you did, you wish you hadn't. The oil didn't taste like olive oil, it was flavourless. The bread was not sourdough. The olives were so disappointing, no flavour at all. There was nothing Spanish about this meal. We left it uneaten.

Every single thing we ate was beyond delicious. David was the consummate host, and Belle had the softest ears. We couldn’t have asked for a better host or accommodations. Thank you again so much!

We recently visited fox and hounds during a local stay at hunters moon. We found the service great, very friendly & accommodating. The locals were equally as friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area who may be staying nearby and fancies a drink in a pub that offers a great atmosphere aswell as darts boards, sports and plenty of room to get comfortable to relax. Also dog friendly with is a huge bonus for us.
