The best restaurants in Weymouth and Portland South West

Haven’t tried for a while since they closed but it used to be excellent. Seems to have gone downhill since reopening. Chips were brown and tasted like old oil, very greasy and not great. The cod, although the batter was cooked well, tasted awful. Again tasted like old cooking oil and the fish itself was very dry and had a lot of hard bits which was weird. Curry sauce was that strange lumpy, cheap stuff and not good at all. Also found a small piece of bone. Husband had battered sausage, again horrible batter - it was very soggy and the sausage was soft. won’t be coming back.

Fantastic food at a good price. The price reflected the quality so we didn't mind paying a little more. It was a really busy evening but we didn't have to wait long, the system in place to order etc was great and worked well. The scampi and chips were delicious and the kids loved their sausages.

No food like it in the area. Great chicken, friendly staff, convenient location. Very reasonable pricing for the portion sizes, Highly recommend!

Ordered nachos as a starter. It came 45 minutes later. April 22nd 6.30.however this was because of unexpected staff shortages .which have now been explained.with this in mind we will visit again when we are next in weymouth.

Really good food. We had crispy king prawns and cashew nuts with special fried rice and spring rolls. All delicious.

Just dished up my lamb main. The meat is so tough and gristly I cannot get my teeth thru it. Huge great chunks. Very disappointed

We have been here before and it is our go to place come rain or shine when we visit Weymouth. Amazing staff. Jenna gets the crowd outside doing a mexican wave. Clapping hands. Such a great atmosphere when she is on. Well done Jenna

Great location. Friendly staff.. Brewery Faye, it's a great place to eat. The hotel it's self needs a bit of TLC.

Had becky meet us at reception and she was lovely, made our day and our stay very pleasant

Popped in here for lunch whilst in Weymouth. First impressions were that it looked a tad small, but there is additional seating at the back, which provided ample room. There is also outdoor seating for slightly better weather. The large Cod and Chips (plus cup of tea) was decent. I wasn't particularly struck on the chips as they seemed more like fat French fries, and were all a bit hard, but the fish was excellent. It was flaky and tasty and wasn't ruined by the batter (as so much chip shop fish is), but instead was complimented by it. This is because the batter wasn't overwhelmingly thick or crispy, but rather slightly more sparse and soft. I realise I'm not making it sound great, but I can assure you it really was. My young daughter also enjoyed eating the fish, and if it passes her ridiculously fussy and painfully fastidious standards, then it must be good. Sauces come in those ridiculous little pods that, combined over the course of a year, undo pretty much the entire nation's efforts to cut back on single-use plastics. I'm pretty sure you have to pay extra for them too. There are no bottles on tables here... The price was about what I'd expect these days, so no real complaints there. All in all a good meal and a decent visit.

We have only ordered chips in last 3 visits, live locally but the chips seem to be precooked, tasteless hard and tepid each time and still costly for a medium portion! Very disappointing !

Quite simply, this place should be shut down or be sold to someone who knows what hospitality means. The worst experience I have ever gad in any pub or restaurant in the UK, ….EVER. Appalling customer service, the rudest staff I have ever witnessed, virtually nothing on the menu available, revolting food when it finally arrived after 45 minutes, many drinks on draught covered up with plastic bags, the most unpleasant barman imaginable. The whole experience was just horrendous. Have been a loyal customer for many, many years. None of the usual friendly staff were anywhere to be seen. The end of an era. Sad.

Expensive. Not much seating. Extremely sticky carpet and floor. No parking available.
