Absolutely delicious. My 10 year old daughter had this nearly every day on our week long holiday in Weymouth. It's all very fresh and very tasty. The portions are really good for the price too :)

Wow. Perfectly cooked generous portions. Crispy batter, wonderful. DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, GO THERE AS SOON AS YOU CAN.

Fish was absolutely delicious. The Batter was perfectly crispy, light and freshly made. Curry sauce was homemade and delicious unlike the cheap yellow versions at other places. Perfectly situated right opposite the beach. Highly recommended when you visit Weymouth.

Poor customer service, undercooked chips, raw fish......god knows how!

Well where do I start first off they looked me in the eyes and charged me 3£ for a sausage that's about 4cm🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 then all of our chips weren't cooked properly soggy and not cooked all the way thru, my mates fish was 99% batter 1%fish and it was 9£!!!! The curry sauce is like jelly this is the worst fish shop I've been to

We had fresh cooked fish n chips while you wait (6/7 minutes) absolutely delicious and full of flavour for £12 . We went to Rick Steins in Sandbanks a couple of days before and it was £26 and utterly tasteless . Obvs jyst paying for the name!!! Honestly the comparison was ridiculous!!!

Freshly cooked waited for no more than 7 minutes. Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Staff lovely and polite,clean and tidy will definitely be returning.

Best Fish & Chips in Weymouth- we tried several different places and this was the best. Large portions, made to order in front of you, delicious, & free ketchup/tartar sauce (had to pay at other places). Friendly staff as well.

We came back again (June 2024) absolutely divine! The fish and chips are amazing and the curry sauce is out of this world. DELICIOUS!!! I had a portion of fish and chips and curry sauce. The sauce was not great I prefer a traditional chip shop curry sauce. The fish and chips were 🤤 and the customer service was great.

Absolutely love the fish&chips with curry sauce from here. Everytime I visit Weymouth it's on my list of places to visit. Cant wait to try it again on my stay. If you see this review early enough could you please tell me what your opening and closing times are please as I'm staying next door and I'm dying to eat some more nice food and your currently shut haha. 🤣🤣🤣 Whoever the owner is,is also my hero. Staff were apologetic about me having to wait a few minutes as fish is cooked to order. I would happily have waited a lot longer. I honestly cannot remember having fish and chips as good as this,

When it came, i came! I usually go to the famous chippy in Weymouth. I was grumpy when my group chose to eat here. I was grumpy when i was told there was a 20min wait because they make everything fresh. Then the food arrived! Perfection. Top marks, really beautiful fish and chips. Cod melts in the mouth. Chips were cooked to perfection. Curry sauce best i ever had. My son inhaled his battered sausage whilst making groaning noises of happiness. Hygene rating of 5/5 also very reassuring.

The service and quality of food is amazing, very reasonable on price and able to sit down outside. The food was all cooked fresh whilst we sat waiting, and was piping hot. I have 2 children with sensory issues around food and both can't wait to come back next time we visit. BEST FISH AND CHIPS IN WEYMOUTH.

Pretty awful! Not a welcoming place. No hello, no smiles, just a grunt. The food is cheaper if you pay cash though they don’t tell you that before. Ordered chips which were pretty awful. On top nice, manky ones further down but bearable. I had the tiniest battered sausage which tasted disgusting. Cheap cheap ingredients. It was also £2.00. Crazily expensive. My daughter had a small portion of chicken nuggets which were inedible. Really disgusting. Spat them out. Will avoid this place next time. Sorry!

good fish,very tasty,crunchy and not oily, £7.50 for medium fish, £3.50 for chips. ….but the chips it’s horrible,they smell fishy more than fish itself,so please frying chips separately.

Our family visit to The Fish Place was exceptional. The fish was perfectly cooked and the batter in a league of its own. Although the restraint was busy the wait was negligible. The chips were substantial and received with satisfaction by everyone at the table. Would recommend a visit and will definitely return for seconds when next in Weymouth. .

Very good fish & chips. The slow service and the interior of the place could be improved. The terrace is good, with sea views, we will return.

Had fish and chips before the weekly fireworks desplay. Massive queues and the food was being rushed out. The chips were a bit under cooked and the fish rather dry. Would give it a try in the day as walking past the food looked far better.

Fabulous food and service. Very welcomed and catered for from a big family. Kids even said better chicken nuggets than McDonalds.

We placed a massive order and they dealt with it brilliantly. The food came quickly, they were super cheerful and went out of their way to be helpful. And the fish and chips were amazing!

Had a meal for 4 yesterday . Fish was very large and really well cooked. Chips , curry sauce and peas were all great . Just because it’s on the sea front don’t think it’s poor quality , would recommend , and thanks to the guy working there who recommended we visited the Smugglars Inn went today !

Well run fish and chip shop. The fish and chips were very tasty and not bad prices. Can get very busy but orders are quickly processed. And your number is called out. Some seating out front which can get very busy. But overall and excellent place😃

Great place, fish and chips made to order and delicious. Came as a family of 7 with a baby just before closing on 28/07 and they stayed open until we had eaten. Definitely recommend to all who visit the area.

This restaurant has obviously changed hands since our last visit. I had to queue outside on the pavement to order our food to eat indoors. The medium cod and chips was advertised as £7.50, but I added mushy peas and two cokes to my order for two. I was charged £28! This means the peas and cans of coke must have cost me £13. I was told I would be called when my order was ready to collect. This was some 15 minutes later. The food was served in polystyrene trays with huge lids. This caused problems when sitting opposite my husband, as the lids overlapped each other’s food trays. There was only wooden cutlery supplied which made it difficult to break through the copious thickness of batter and hard chips. The quantity of fish underneath was quite minimal. The plastic covered table was rather peeled and dirty looking. The condiment bottles were also unclean. Ketchup was only available from a large pump dispenser on the counter, which was inconvenient. I also had to endure being spiked in the shoulder by an unruly child, leaning over from the next table, wielding a wooden fork. On hindsight a potion of chips on the beach might have proved a better option.

Me and my friends ate there yesterday and I'll leave for myself what was happening to me and one of my friend after this, we felt very very bad. Chips were uncooked. Fish was ok but the batter was extremely oily. I do not recommend this place. ** Well that tells a lot about you if you are using an offensive words to people. And you had to mistook us with someone else as we cleaned after we finished and none of us finished its food as the portions were huge which is a plus of your restaurant. I didn't mean to be rude or offensive, I'm just telling about our experience with your food. The chips were uncooked, soft and uncripsy. That's what I meant about the chips. Maybe you should teach your team how to fry them properly instead of offend people for a honest opinion. And if my friend and me got sick after this food that means something was wrong with this. A fish itself was very tasty. Good luck and please get some manners. Cheers.

Overall a decent fish and chip shop. The service from the lad behind the till was fantastic - polite, upbeat and friendly. The food was decent with most items cooked to order. My only criticism is menu choices are limited compared to other chip shops - I.e one size of fish, one size of chips, one size of sausage etc but it’s not a dealbreaker. I’d happily go back 🙂

Fantastic Cod and chips, only £11 which is the best value I've found in weymouth. Light and crispy batter, not overly greasy and the chips were to die for. Had it with curry sauce, cheese and a gherkin for my birthday treat, what a combo, will definatly coming back! Also the handsome black-bearded man behind the counter was a great laugh and service impeccable, 5 stars all day long

Taking my in-laws who were on holiday to find a bite to eat at lunchtime we decided on trying the fish place The outside dining area need a lot of updating , metal tables and chairs filthy. The food was as underwhelming as the decor Cremated chips , chicken nuggets hard and dry. What sort of restaurant doesn’t serve cups of tea ??? But you can have a bottle of Prosecco … very odd

After reviewing the reviews, Its obvious the reviewers are reviewing negatively for the amazing responses from the owner. On the occasion I have eaten the fish n chips here (not ice cream) it was a substantial size and the batter was tightless. The chips were potatoes and the cheery young lad that served was an absolute delight.

Just eaten here, and I have to say probably the best fish chips and curry sauce I’ve ever had, beautiful flaky fish in a golden crispy batter, the chips were cooked to perfection, and the curry sauce is on another planet, fantastic staff and right on the seafront! Just moved to the area and thought we'd try the chips! Very generous portion, so fresh and not greasy at all. Help yourself to free ketchup and a choice of vinegars too which I've never seen before..onion vinegar, gherkin vinegar and traditional. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Was on a school trip to the UK, this was my first and best fish and chips, the staff was extremely nice, overall a great experience.

The fish here is cooked fresh. The owner is so kind and although rushed off his feet, he took time to help us. The staff are amazing. We were recommended to come here for the best fish and chips in Weymouth. We shall definitely be back. Highly recommended.

Found a massive hair in the food and was told that it happens as we've all got long hair that work here! Asked for refund and was refused because I paid by card and its to expensive for them. Chips were dry and way overpriced avoid this place like the plague! Unbelievable the owner and his replies actually swearing at paying customer from given them honest feedback. I have the right establishment and I'm hoping you learn soon how far customer services goes. If only I could change my 1 star to a zero star!

Called in for fish and chips on 30.8.22. Quick service and very hot. It would have been a 5 star review but the dark haired young lad who took payment was yawning (without his hand over mouth) over food being prepared and then stood there looking at his phone. Clearly didn't want to be working there

Simply the best cod and chips in Weymouth. The chips were nice and crispy. The fish batter thin and crispy and not soaked in oil.

Good portion size for both chips and curry sauce (both of which were vegan), didn’t get a photo because we ate them so quickly!

A great little fish and chip shop with all orders cooked fresh to order. Lovely views out to sea if you wish to eat nearby. Very good quality fish and chips and decent portion size. A little limited in menu choices and quite pricey ( although I am from the midlands so might be why ). Quick friendly service.

Awful cheesy chips, tasted strange and most of the chips had potato eyes still on. No bottles of sauce, only catering quality sachets for 10p each. Staff were pleasant and view was nice, but go elsewhere for chips.

Had absolutely delicious big fresh portions of cod and chips here, able to buy a little bottle of prosecco and beer as well to accompany our food. Little bit of a wait, but it was the summer holidays and dinner time, so to be expected.

Not great, unsure if I'd of rather stayed hungry or ate some sand. Chips were cooked ok, but with quite a lot of hard ones, you would of thought cooking chips would be an easy task for a place that are supposed to specialise in cooking chips, surprising how tricky it must be, but the biggest disappointment had to be the curry sauce, as it was very concentrated, so didn't taste great. Very embarrassing. Especially at the cost they charge, as was pricey.

A hidden gem in Weymouth, low prices and substantial food portions. The Fish is hand-battered from the friar, and you can see the cook doing it as you order. The staff are friendly and have a good laugh, and the curry sauce is unlike anything I had tasted before (they told me it was Irish curry sauce). I would recommend it to anyone who wants some food cheaper than the harbourside. The fish was thinly battered, so you got more fish than greasy batter, which was great because you can see it's hand-battered. Well done, lads!
