Had a lovely visit to the spa, the food is great the picky options are my favourite. The team were so helpful and friendly with our gluten free options too

Unfortunately no atmosphere when we went. Hunters Chicken unfortunately not enough sauce, looked like it was cooked separately. No visit again

I booked a table for 15 of us for a birthday lunch celebration and it was not a great experience what so ever. There were two young ladies serving behind the bar and no one to show us to our table. We found the table ourself which had a “reserved” with my name on it and the time. There were no instructions or confirmation when I booked to state order at the bar, there was a QR code on the table that said “scan, order and pay via code” After asking at the bar if someone could take our order as there were 15 of us I was told nope it’s bar service only or the QR code but you’re better off ordering at the bar! So we ordered our food and paid, as instructed. Two of us had starters which came out very quickly. The main meals however, came out in dribs and drabs. By the time the last meal came out the first recipients of food had finished their meal! The food itself was hot but the portions very small and the quality extremely mediocre. The Scampi was smaller than “popcorn chicken” and my mother asked if I had ordered her a childs portion (and she doesn’t eat a lot at the best of times). The steak was tough and grisly, the fries were barely fried and the chicken pie was extremely soggy. What was supposed to be a lovely birthday turned out to be very disappointing. We certainly would not recommend this place to any one.

I come in for the curry with my family and my dog monthly and enjoy it every time I come. The young girl at the bar Madison is always so welcoming and so is the young lad Logan in the kitchen always makes the food to how we like it.

A good get together with the girls, really happy with the service from Ricky the waiter and the food was good.

The atmosphere is so much better in the spa. I didn’t come for years as the old staff were very lazy so it’s good to see the spa come round with great staff! Madison and Courtney were very friendly. Will be coming back.

Very dirty, in appalling condition. This pub needs a complete refit and some proper management. I did visit a pub in Lewisham that was in nearly as poor condition as this one the other day but that one was permanently closing the following day, and at least did have heating whereas this one has not (a small fan heater was present here but not switched on and nowhere near powerful enough to heat the area anyway). It is also a shame that although the first page of their raise the bar feedback survey says it helps them improve they have not used my previous negative reviews to help them do so. After almost 50 years of being a regular customer of this pub I have now been forced to desert it for a nicer one.

We enjoyed our meals at the old spa today. The chef was helpful and cheerful even though it was very busy. Staff as always ready to serve with a smile. Young barman attentive to serving and Lauraine, as always gives wonderful attention to the customers with her warm welcome and professional attitude.

This is a decent food and drinks pub with sport. It does a good job of being a food and drink pub at an excellent price. Food is good and served promptly ,beer is well kept. Pub has offers and is part of the meerkat 25% off package. All in all excellent place for a good value meal and drink. I

Went for a Sunday carvery, was extremely busy! Despite only what seemed to be 2 staff members serving, my sever Lorraine still found the time for us, checking to make sure everything was okay. and that we always had drinks. Food was good service was great! Will be back. Thank you Lorraine

The tables were sticky and unclean, and there was a guy doing everyone's jobs, including sweeping and handling things outside, then he'd immediately come in and go handle/serve food in the kitchen. The staff were great, but I think that guy might need to delegate a bit - I'm assuming he was the owner or manager! He was a great guy but doing SO MUCH ALL OF THE TIME haha. On the plus side, the food was good and the bartender was hilariously funny and I couldn't have enjoyed myself more if I could have got over how much I stuck to the table 😂

Lorraine is an absolute wonderful bar maid always kind and friendly. The service is amazing and she makes Bingo nights a lot of fun.

Wow what can I say the atmosphere was amazing and the food was even better whilst I was there I asked if I could speak to the chef to give my appraisal to him. They got the head chef out for me whose name was Alex. I will definitely be coming back again and again thank you to the wonderful kitchen team

I went here with some friends, one was in a wheelchair, following a stroke. From start to finish, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience! Access was easy, plenty of places to choose where we sat. We found the ordering/paying process easy with the QR scanning option and lots of variation of food on the menu. Drinks were delivered super quickly, food was brought soon and looked delicious and didn't disappoint! The Cowboy burger was spot on! The Staff were friendly and on point. I also had the Salt Caramel Cookie desert which amazing! Will have find another reason to visit again soon. Thank for the barman that brought our drinks quickly and the pretty waitress that looked after us so well.

Family of 5 meeting for lunch. Ordered myself nachos with chilli beef and cheesy garlic bread, rest of party had pie and chips, southern fried chicken burger, hunters chicken and a child's chicken dippers with carrots. Chilli came out luke warm and garlic bread wasn't even cooked properly. Chilli tasted like it was made with gravy granules. Carrots on child's plate were rock hard. No dressing on chicken burger. Needless to say, won't be coming back for food

I had lunch with some family members, everything about our experience was top notch

Unfortunately, we didn't have a good experience. We were freezing cold, the radiator was off and we had to leave earlier. My burger was very small and not really good, quite dry with very few chips. The men's toilet was not in good conditions, not very clean and run down.

Had another great experience at the spa! The staff are so lovely and accommodating. They always go out of their way to make sure our children are happy and having the best time as well as looking after all of their guests 😊

Excellent carvery - meats were tender and delicious served with a good assortment of vegetables - the dauphinoise potatoes were exceptional. Good value carvery.

They have brought back the larger menu, which is great. The food was lovely, but my partners dinner was a bit cold on arrival. Service was ok. I had to ask for a children's menu as I couldn't find one on any nearby tables or at the bar. Polite staff but nothing extra given. The atmosphere was ok, but it was cold. Outside doors were left open, and the heating wasn't on. When mentioned to the staff, they said, "Yes, they do that sometimes." Just an idea... They offer a 5 and under food menu. Maybe supply little forks and spoons? The decoration and cleanliness could be improved but overall an ok experience.

Do’t bother with the food. Atmosphere was ok and waiting staff very polite. But… the food was awful. I had Christmas dinner, all vegetables were frozen including the non crispy roast potatoes, this sprouts and broccoli were mush, and the one slice of turkey I could have used as a roof tile it was so hard. Prawn cocktail start tasteless. Even the bread was dry. My friends who had burgers said the fries were really dry, just like chip stick crisps!! It was pretty busy so not excuse really. Won’t be returning for tood any time soon.

Annoyed that I feel disrespected by the staff at the Spa. If you don't have what is advertised on the menu then I should have been given the opportunity to change my order, do not bring my meal short of what was expected and say nothing. The curry was watery like a frozen meal and the nan bread was soft in some places but hard like a crisp in others. I do not want to be contacted by you but treat people as customers that you value. Met my son in here for food and drinks. His burger was ok but my curry not so good. This place has hardly changed for 20 years and why should it. Normally food alright but curry not good, if they had mango chutney it wouldn't have saved the meal.

We had an amazing time with friends. The festive menu was brilliant proper turkey and the desserts sublime. The staff were incredible so professional and attentive. Be back in January with 12 of us. The facilities were very clean.

Food was good, proper local pub. Waitress was very attentive and friendly.

From the 1st contact to book our group of 37 for our Christmas bash all staff were so helpful. We were greeted by a member of staff on the night who introduced himself as the person who would be taking care of us. We were served swiftly which was great. Everyone, in stages, then went to the carvery to help themselves to veg as much or little as you wanted, so thank you from bar, front of house to the kitchen, we had a great night 😁

What a super Xmas function the Spa hosted for 36 of us. Lovely food & a super atmosphere. Will definitely visit again.

We use this venue alot to catch up with work events and meet ups. It’s always friendly efficient and a great place with great atmosphere !!!

A good night out with friends. Reasonably quiet, had a meal which was great. Maybe the portions were too large for the ladies, but advised to try the bite size meals next time. Us blokes were happy though as we polished off the left overs. Also it was the last day of the 30% off mains which was a bonus. That prompted an additional bottle of Shira between us. Winners all round. The England v Australia football game was on but not intrusive volume wise. A great night out and didn't have to shout to be heard. Well done to all at The Famous Old Spa, Weymouth.

ordered mixed grill - not available, changed to sirloin steak - not available. at the end orderd coffee plates still not cleared from table - had coffee looking st empty plates - avoid, this place used to be good be warned it has changed.

Popped in late this afternoon. Served by Lorraine. The pub was very busy, and she was on her own behind the bar, but was very cheerful and polite whilst managing really well, considering how busy it was. We were still served efficiently and with a smile. Lovely atmosphere from this pub.

A bit short on staff at 4pm but Lorraine looked after everyone above and beyond, she's an absolute legend

As always we were met by the lovely Lorraine, as locals our drinks were poured by the time we reached the bar. We get a bus here as often as we can, the atmosphere is welcoming and everyone is friendly, the food is well cooked, we love it and we love Lorraine.

Great atmosphere, reasonably priced beer, outdoor seating, play area for kids, free car parking and very friendly staff.

Lorraine G is tremendous and is the real heart of the pub. Always down to earth and willing to do anything to help anyone when needed. The pub itself has really turned a corner since the new management team have arrived and it’s now a pleasure to come into the Spa. It’s like the old days with a proper family feel.

Fab service by the lovely Lorraine as always. Great to still have a familiar face behind the bar. Met the new landlords and wish them luck in their journey to restoring the Spa back to the hub of our community.

Called in for a quick pint, nice to meet the new landlady, who was lovely, only been there a matter of days and things are already looking better. Lovely to see Lorraine behind the bar, working her magic. The Spa would not be the same without her friendly service.

Called in for a quick lunch time catch up with friends, we were served by Lorraine who was quick and efficient with a lovely friendly manner. Sadly didn’t eat this time, although the food I saw looked lovely. Very welcoming, new managers who are hoping to make it there own, given a little time

The Spa is a lovely pub. Lorraine behind the bar was fantastic, great service and very friendly. Dogs allowed 😄 Unfortunately the food let the Spa down. What's happened in there?! We had a calvary, the meat was overdone and dry, flat Yorkshire puds, undercooked stuffing, cold veg, none seasonal like sprouts, parsnips, cabbage, even broccoli. Flavourless gravy. Probably won't go for another one, which is a massive shame. Been going there for years.

Family meal for 7 on a Sunday afternoon, food was delicious standard pub fare, reasonably priced, limited menu. The service was fine, and the staff were friendly and polite. Tables and furniture were a little well worn and could do with updating for a more pleasant eating experience. The only drawback for us as a family with young and old dining in the group was the football game that was being shown on the tv's and the exuberance of the fans watching the game.
