The food was standard pub grub, nothing wrong with it but not very exciting.

Lovely meal for our grandsons birthday, absolutely fabulous staff, really made a fuss of him. Cannot thank them enough, will definitely return soon!

This is a great venue in the summer. The seating area is great, and the tapas style food is lovely!

Nice place to eat. On the cheaper side of pub grub, but the quality doesn't suffer. I would recommend booking in advance.

We love The John Gregory. The food is good pub grub and the staff and service are excellent. The fish and chips, with a drink for £11.00 on Friday, is a fantastic deal.

Proper pub grub well done! We always used to go prior to the refurbishment. The pub is nice, clean and warm! The staff are lovely and make you feel very welcome! I have visited 3 times over the last month and can say I have not been let down! There is something for everyone, good hearty pub grub and plenty of it! Just be warned it does get busy from 1200 to 1400. The beer is well priced to boot! I will definitely be back again.

First time here traveled from Bournemouth to collect Bluetooth speaker from up the road ask the lady about the pub restaurant and she said it was very good so came in. Had chicken goujon burger and chips with bacon. Great service. Great timing staff well done to the kitchen 🐐

Was very surprised and disappointed by the unwelcoming attitude of one of the Servers. Our meals were wonderful and served by a lovely Server. We will definitely return….we were just surprised.

I have been here on a number of occasions and have always had excellent service, staff are friendly and very helpful. Our food arrived quickly and was clearly freshly cooked. I would recommend this pub.

Do not go here they are very rude to there customers if you haven't got a table booked you get asked to leave and don't pay for there services will never go there again

What a wonderful experience…from making the initial booking with Liam to the actual visit. Nothing was too much trouble…from taking photos/ensuring we had enough drinks etc. The meals were excellent and the service was superb!

Came for Christmas meal a group of us. All really enjoyed the food, cooked well and really reasonable prices. The staff were really great, friendly and attentive service was brilliant throughout. Would reccomend and definitely come again thank you.

Went here for a wake so not our choice. However, food was OK for a chain and staff helpful.

Food was good, service was nice and quick. It was very busy, I think there was a wake happening which made you feel a little awkward trying to walk through to access the toilets or the bar.

We’ve visited numerous times now with our grandmother who lives in the estate locally, she always highly recommends and visits almost weekly herself. We visited of a Sunday late afternoon (3pm) and enjoyed the Sunday dinner, I was really pleasantly surprised such great portions and the roast potatoes were great! Our daughters portion was also huge, and great it was included in the kids menu as an option as she loves a roast diner. Our sons enjoyed a burger and fish fingers as they are not fans of a Sunday dinner themselves but definitely enjoyed their dinner here, one of the things we appreciate is the choice on offer for children having a son who’s not a fan of potatoes he randomly doesn’t like chips so having the option of rice with his burger suited him perfectly. The ice creams are always a hit for pudding too. The service is so personable and the staff know our grandmother well and treat her with such kindness. She doesn’t eat much herself anymore but enjoyed the soup and when she requested a yorkshire pudding to go alongside this was no problem at all. I’m sure we’ll be back we always enjoy our food each visit and have never been disappointed. The venue also easily accommodated us with our table of 8 being a large family. Toilets are always immaculately clean as well.

The John Gregory has become one of our favourite places to visit. The food is extremely good value especially with the offers they have and always superbly cooked,presented and delivered to our table promptly. However busy they are (which is normally the case!) the staff are always friendly and efficient and nothing too much trouble. There are a wide variety of drinks available at an affordable price. We are so impressed with the pub that we have booked our Christmas Day meal there. A special mention to Liam and Chloe and the rest of the team who are amazing. Thankyou for all your hard work!

This pub is how all pubs should be run, well done to the manager and all the staff. We arrived just as the kitchen was closing but were told it’s no problem and taken to a lovely table and given menus. We both opted for steak & ale pie with mash and veg which was lovely and hot and extra gravy in a jug on the side of the plate. Drinks arrived quickly as did the food. Atmosphere was nice and the pub was spotlessly clean. We will definitely be visiting here again soon. Thank you for looking after us so well.

The John Gregory is in Southill, a couple of mils out of town so it's taken us a while to visit. It certainly won't be long before visiting again. Set in a residential area, It has a very nice interior and friendly staff. The menu and meals we saw looked very inviting so looking forward to sampling next time.

Visited here for the first time and was very impressed the staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble me and my granddaughter had the chicken and my husband and grandson the gammon from the two for £16 menu we was all happy with our meals and really enjoyed them will definitely visit again when on holiday .

Came here on a Saturday evening for a family celebration meal. Despite being in a large group, with at least one other large group in progress, we were served fairly quickly and didn't have a long wait for food I had a steak which was one of the best steaks I've had for a long time and miles ahead of those from other chain pubs. Everyone else also commented how nice their food was too. I'd definitely recommend here and will visit again if I get the chance.

It’s difficult to imagine a better experience in a pub! All the staff are friendly and helpful and work so hard- well done to Sam, Chlo, and Stacey. The food is excellent The prices are competitive , and there is a great Monday to Thursday meal deal and there’s a Fish and chip fryday deal too. And lovely puddings . As a side issue the toilets are always immaculate. The front of house staff and superb kitchen staff make this place such a success

A few friends and I came here this evening for dinner with our children, we were all having a great time. A couple of the children went over to play pool (they are 6). We were sat in a table which we could see them, the manager then decided to go over and snatch the cues out of their hands and told them they could no longer play, came over to our table, gave us our money back and abruptly told us they could no longer play anymore as they needed to be supervised which, we agreed we would have went over and done, but started to get angry with us and told his staff to no longer serve us drinks. I am very appalled that this man is even a manager, making my son cry and being rude towards regular customers. He also speaks to his staff like this too!! Make it aware that children need to be supervised, there are no signs up to say otherwise, also, we were well in site of them!! Rude!!!

Everyone in my party liked their food, but although there was a fair selection of vegan food, and vegan wine, there was no plant based milk for hot drinks?! Told 'we're just a pub'

Highly recommend this establishment. It is a very welcoming pub/restaurant. Sunday roast was very good and reasonably priced. Went back next day for lunch. Had the light lunch. Limited choice but what we had was great and very good value @ £6.49 each. If we are ever in the Weymouth area again, we will certainly plan to eat there. The Mac Cheese is exceptionally good. 👌👍

Efficient and friendly service on arrival and throughout our visit. The food is very reasonably priced and a great choice too! We had the tuna melt sandwich with chips and scampi and chips, followed by eton mess on a waffle. All very well cooked/prepped and tasted good. The coffee's great too. Our dog was made to feel welcome and was offered a treat. Would recommend highly.

Attended here for a somber occasion. Well catered for, unfortunately one of the real ales ran out and cocktails were suspended. This didn’t impact on the occasion.

Very nice pub,reasonable prices,food was good and quickly served,has been recently refurbished and looks good,plenty of parking close by.

We called here without booking and we were welcomed by a lovely lady and shown to a table. Although it was quite busy the service was quick and faultless. The menu has a good choice of affordable food. The food we had was lovely and all of the staff were very pleasant, happy and helpful. We will definitely come here again. I would advise on booking before you go to avoid disappointment.

I don’t mind waiting, but I liked to be acknowledged. When we did get served the staff member was knowledgeable and polite. The beer was good, served at the right temperature. Good head on the beer. The food looked amazing. Plenty of people, large groups eating. Nice seating arrangements.

A lovely pub with great food and service. The staff and Viktor are amazing and work hard to create a great pub and atmosphere. On several occasions Viktor has gone out of his way to to make my children happy and welcome.

We had a couple of meals here recently, really good value and staff are very attentive, got turned away for food on a Saturday avo quite recently but it was packed so best to book ahead! 😀

Excellent family pub. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Great choice of menu all reasonably priced. Service has always been excellent. Would recommend. Make sure you book direct with the pub and don't book online as the pub is unaware of these bookings. We've been caught out twice with this and fortunately the staff bent over backwards to fit us in.

It's quite nice. Got a few rowdy locals swearing at the bar which isn't what you'd like to hear whilst celebrating a birthday. Food was nice enough though. Staff accommodating

Bit of a hidden gem - slightly out of the way - but popular - you maybe best to book as it can get very busy.

Even thou there where spare tables 3 of them they couldn't fit us in for food.

I have an autistic child and asked to reserve a seat in a quiet location. They seated us in front of the bar right outside the kitchen door. My daughter couldn’t relax because of her disability but the manager was unwilling to move us or help. Such a shame because this used to be such a lovely place to eat. Won’t be returning.

Poor reception. Felt unwelcome from the off. Second rate to diners. Not an ideal place to watch the footy. Politeness not reciprocated.

Not a sports bar anymore! No sound for the football and when politely asked was told it was not possible at all. Felt like we were really not welcome because we wanted to watch the football and taking up seats for food - very strange

Been going here reasonably regularly over the last few years bit was horrified today to witness staff rudely deal with a small group of lads who were quietly watching the football.........quietly being the operative word as they weren't allowed the sound on???? One member of staff snatched a chair out from under a young lad that in my opinion was way over the top and a dangerous thing to do. This certainly isn't the place it used to be-a polite, friendly pub regardless of if you wanted a meal or to watch the sport. I think the attitude of the owners shows from the replies to the positive comments but total lack of care to replying to those with issues or complaints. Lads if you see this, I truly feel for you and if you want a friendly establishment that actually plays the sound go to The Spa 👍🏽

My family and I chose this restaurant to an evening meal as part of my 80th birthday celebration long weekend when we stayed in Weymouth from our home in North Buckinghamshire. We couldn't have chosen a better place to eat. The whole atmospher combined with the food was really first class. I don't usually mention one particulat member of the 'TEAM' but feel on this occassion I must give particular credit to Reegan who looked after our table which such professional, friendly and welcoming care. If we happen to go to Weymouth again we will most certainly visit the John Gregory.

Cheap and cheerful. Roast dinner was spoilt by frozen veggie, watery gravy, and roast potatos that weren't brown or crispy. On the plus side there is parking and the pub is disabled friendly.

The most friendliest, amazing pub i have ever been to! The staff are so welcoming and friendly. They can do enough for their customers. Attentive helpful staff giving the personal touch. The family atmosphere and general atmosphere is the best i have come across in my life! Met the most wonderful loveliest people who gave us the most homelike greeting. The John Gregory decor is delightful, clean light and the decor matches the ambiance.... fantastic! The outdoor seating area is just perfect as with inside. It has booths for comfort to make you feel right at home. Dogs are most welcome there and treated like family,with doggy treats behind the bar for the 4 legged customers!!! A great selection of drinks including cocktails are served and at great prices. As for the food......... Well...... it ....... was too.........DIE FOR👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽! Perfectly cooked, tasty, served hot and quick (so far i recommend the chicken murgh makhani curry!) I said that because im gonna work my way through the menu!!! Great selection of food from burgers, pizzas, half roast chicken which was absolutely delicious. The John Gregory deserves 10 stars as 5 is not enough for a pub/restaurant of this sheer quality, friendliness and homely to be given 5! We met the most wonderful people in this brilliant establishment and it is a wonderful part of the world. Thank you peeps!

First day of holiday and came here for food. We had been in here last time we were this way few years back. Wasn't very busy but it was Monday evening. Food was freshly cooked and tasty. We came back on the Thursday and the place was packed full and was told unfortunately there was no tables left as we hadn't booked so we left. Are elsewhere but came back later as in their website it named 2 football matches on that evening and one was our local home side. When we arrived it wasn't on so left disappointingly. Having said that can recommend this place and if ever in Weymouth again will call here for food.
