Railway Tavern in Weymouth and Portland

Very nice friendly staff and customers right beside the train station and 5 minutes walk from the beach

Friendly pub and great prices. We played darts and snooker for hours in there and had loads of fun.

Waited for a train we thought as a family it was 39 mins till train so we will get a quick drink as is was 29 degrees… to start with my AUTISTIC son ran towards the toilets whilst he was on his reins the man behind the bar clearly the owner said don’t let him run around …. He wasn’t running around sir he wanted to check he was secure in his surroundings … I still got us all a drink and I told the woman what I wanted for my son and he said oh we have fruit shoots … if I wanted a fruit shoot for him I would have asked. There was no air con and it was boiling hot anyway so I wouldn’t advice it to anyone however how we was treated my partner drank his drink quick and I left mine so did my son they made us feel very unwelcome … my son is severely autistic and he just likes to make sure his surroundings are safe so don’t go here with kids whilst waiting for the train guys …..

Cracking real local pub , we were made so welcome even though it was packed as the football was on . Landlord and his barman were top hosts

I was on Holiday , Popped in for 1 pint , but the staff & regulars were so chatty and friendly i ended up in here for 3 hours .. And im calling in again in May 2024 .

A lively pub,very pleasant friendly staff.

Was not greeted with a warm welcome. I am disabled and so is my Sister, we asked politely to use the toilet and one women with blonde hair behind the bar refused and said customers only. We was going to purchase a drink straight after but with this abrupt welcome we won’t bother with this pub.

Landlord very pleasant obliging as I asked if he did coffees he said not your Costa etc but he was willing to do me an instant one as I was quite cold I said okay he did indeed do one for me so thank you 10 out of 10 for going a extra mile for a customer I did go on to order a g and t and a pkt of crisps a very friendly atmosphere in the pub clean tidy etc toilets the same If I visited Weymouth I would certainly pop in again so thank you for your excellent customer service

Lovely place to stop off for a drink before hitting the seafront specially if you've come in by train. We use it on the way into Weymouth and on the way back while waiting for the train. Staff here are friendly and welcoming so we'll worth a visit.

Great location, stairs to the room were excessive and everyone was moaning about them. The room was clean and the amenities were good especially the shower which was wonderful. Landlady was lovely, friendly and very helpful. Parking is non existent so they provide a parking permit for a £10 deposit.

We just called in for a drink after a day out just to cool down we were greeted with a welcome the beer was great and hit the right spot the tavern was well kept and in good order well worth a visit.

Town centre pub opposite the railway station and walking distance to the seafront. Serves pub grub lunchtime and evenings and is associated with the Clifton Hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.

Friendly people and a lovely comfortable room

We were staying next door at the Clifton Hotel (which I must add is a really nice play to stay) so decided to give the Tavern a try after meeting friends in town. It was really friendly, the beer was very nicely kept (Hop Back - Crop Circle) and the welcome from Jackie behind the bar was very warm and friendly. She also took a moment to give us some pointers of places to visit whilst we were in the area. Will definitely return to the Railway Tavern and the Clifton Hotel. Thank you both

I popped in there 22nd May with friends , I was sat near the exit, and to my horror when I got up to leave, my jeans were soaked I can only imagine what it was and it made me feel sick

Close to local amenities and a great choice of well known beers ales and spirits. They've got guiness, kroneburg and pinot gringot for the missus.

Excellent hotel. Rooms were very clean and had free toiletries, tea & coffee. Breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent. The bar downstairs was a typical British pub. Paul, the landlord was very friendly and the bar prices were very competitive. Highly recommended.

Good karaoke. Good atmosphere. Not many people but it was still a good night. Popped in with a group for my 40th. We visited from frome.

Well situated near the Railway Station. Friendly staff and owners. Good for TV sports. Not a wide choice of draught beer. Disabled access to bar is fine though a bit tight for wheelchairs. There is also a step in the corridor to the toilets. Although I have never used it as a hotel reports I have heard are good.

Excellent friendly with sports on tv and one of the only pubs i have been in with a sensible priced pool table. Great prices for beers though they don't do food. Worth a visit without a doubt.

Inexpensive and right next to the railway station for convenience and a quick pint before you depart.

Pub is better than I thought it would be and I actually always really enjoy it in there. Drinks are good value, service is friendly and is a good boozer.

We popped in as a dear friend told me that this was a friendly atmosphere and cheap drink. Well one did pop in with said friend. On ordering the wine 🍷 and the house ale, we went out to the smoking 🚬 area. OML we with the customer's had a great time laughing and telling story's. Thank you Mark and your lovely wife. Sorry to have forgotten the lady's name. But my dear friend was right about the pub, we popped in for one drink and ended up drinking 🍻 loads. Will love to pop in again next time I'm in Weymouth.
